      I know this feeling. When i defeated ludwig first time, the mix of shock, pression and adrenaline made me win. Then, i decided fighting him again. The thing is that his second phase, for me, was WAY harder than the first. I could no hit in the first phase, but die in the first swings of the second. And then, after hearing "my guiding moonlight" for the 20 time, i finally learned how to deal with his second phase. Is funny because my friend reached at his second phase only 5 times, after a imesurable amount of deaths in the first. I like that in those games the players can have very different struggles with bosses.

      Oh I’m the opposite. Can’t stand Malenia. Every time I fight her it feels like a complete unfun crapshoot. I loved the process of learning Orphan, Ludwig, Isshin, Owl Father, but not her. When I beat her, I felt I got lucky and I was perfectly fine with it. Never fighting her again.

    I struggled so much with Maliketh, and really never had an issue with Malenia as i’m usually pretty high level and her moveset feels pretty intuitive to fight for me. Maliketh is my hardest in elden ring, and the orphan of kos is the hardest in the series imo. He took me HOURS and is now my fave fight however.

      I may be in the minority here but I never really found Maliketh that hard. On my first playthrough it took me 20 tries to beat him and on my second playthrough it took me a measly 10 tries.
      Malenia though… she took me 123 TRIES on my first playthrough and 50 on my second! She is EASILY the hardest boss in Soulsborne for me

      @@JoeWillz82 see Kos still has very short tells and a lot of chaotic moves that can overlap especially in phase 2, making him a lot more complex than one might think, but i never struggled with maria as she’s so staggersble, as cool of a fight as she is

  • @shidanslair
    @shidanslair Před 9 měsíci +6

    Great video, really enjoyed it.
    Here's my ranking:
    For DS1, now that I've finished it 20+ times, the boss that is more likely to kill me is also Kalameet (and Bed of Chaos), so now I enjoy his battle more than I initially did. (On my first playthrough the hardest boss was Gwyn)
    For DS2 I actually find Sir Alone harder, but only because of the previous enemies, I decided I wanted to really know how good the boss is, so I killed ALL the enemies until they stopped spawning and... I didn't like it that much, the boss itself is somewhat simple. For the other two, Fume Knight and Burmt Ivory King, If you make both fight easier, I'd say Fume Knight is harder, but if you don't, then definitely the Ivory King. Those two are also my favorite DS2 bosses :3
    For DS3 I'd pick Lothric and Lorian or Midir. My first time I defeated Sister Friede on my 2nd attempt and Gael on the 3rd, so I don't think they are that hard. Since Lothric and Lorian are easier in future playthroughs, Midir would be the hardest for me. I think the Demon Prince is pretty easy, my first time it took me two tries because of the toxic, but when you stay under him the fight was surprisingly easy, I actually would like it to be harder.
    For Bloodborne it gets harder to pick one, on my first time Orphan, Laurence and Ludwig were the ones I died the most with, but now, even though Ludwig is probably my favorite boss, I think it is easier than the other two. So I'll pick Orphan since I think he super challenging, when I think Laurence is more unfair, also I don't feel like picking a semi-reused boss, it would be similar to picking a Chalice Dungeon reused boss. Also, Gascoigne is great, but after my first playthrough it wasn't that hard.
    And the hardest of all of them would be Orphan of Kos, simply because the first time I killed him I was shaking because of the concentration I had to put in order to win, and that have happened only once before with another game, and never since.
    I don't write this long comment for someone to read, it's just because I think is fun to analyze what my ranking would be 😁

    It's so weird to me that father Gascoigne has such a reputation for being difficult. I don't ever remember being stuck on him for that long! Maybe it's because I always explore every nook and cranny of central yarnham before fighting him so I've leveled up quite a bit. But yeah my big road block on every playthrough is vicar Amelia.

    Fun fact.
    Allant was never an issue on ps3 back in the day.
    Flamelurker and Maneaters were the biggest problem. I cant stress how often people were seeking help there.
    Regarding the soul suck mechanic. It wasnt repeated because in ps3 there were those who were so evil. They would invade all day searching for AFK. And soulsuck them back to Soul level 1.
    By them soul sucking and leaving the game the host is stuck on lvl 1. But if the host disconnects, they keep their level and souls meanwhile the invader kept the souls too.
    We used to soul glitch like that. Since each suck was a full level. It was the quickest way to lvl up before the Merchant glitch that enables you to dupe all consumables to 198.
    Lastly if we talk about the hardest boss in ps3. King Doran was it. Even with braking his gear poison etc. he was one shotting people left and right.
    And you cant summont to kill him. We had many strats to get him killed

    I think regarding the Ds2 bosses, i think Fume Knight wins out, the crazy set up of fighting Ivory King with no knights just makes the mobs more difficult but not the boss itself if that makes sense. Fume knight also allegedly has killed more players than any other souls boss (I believe that stat was pre sekiro and pre elden ring however so for all I know Malenia has this accolade 😂)

    • @BillySYT
      @BillySYT  Před 9 měsíci +2

      If it were a few years ago, I'd be right there with you. Fume Knight was the hardest boss for me when I first tried the DLCs. But I kinda have him down now pattern-wise. Gotten easier with the years, whereas with the mobs in BIK, they still almost kill me constantly ^^

      @zacharygoldenface9486 Před 9 měsíci

      @BillySYT it's a fair take for sure. I will also say IK even when I had all 4 knights put up quite the fight, I'd say for a first time player Fume is probably the harder fight but on repeat plays just the fact that you have potentially unpredictable mobs IK could be harder. I say that but I still have yet to beat DarkLurker so maybe that's my real answer 🤔

    I haven‘t even beaten most of the later bosses of Elden Ring without Spirit Ashes as most of my playtime was spent on restrictive low to mid level characters with half-upgraded gear for Invasions and considering my skill I might not be able to solo Malenia at all.
    A really fun if very challenging one to beat was Mogh on RL60/+12 Weapons. It felt barely doable for a long time until I killed him on around the 20th try… Only to die to bleed myself right after, resetting the fight.
    At that point he had become my mortal enemy and with a few more attempts, poison, frostbite and bleed I barely made it through the Splatoon phase for a Stance Break finish. He might not be the hardest boss but he was the hardest one I beat in what felt like a fair fight.

    For the games that I’ve played, my personal most difficult would be…
    DS1: Ornstein & Smough (it’s been a long time since I played, but I actually have not experienced the DLC since I had the OG Dark Souls on my Xbox 360! I’m sure that could change once I play DSR.
    DS2: As of right now, I haven’t completed the game. I have two Giant Souls after exploring one of the memories and defeating the Ancient Dragon (only took two attempts). I haven’t found many of the bosses to be super challenging yet, but the boss who has killed me the most so far is the Executioner’s Chariot (took me 8 attempts).
    DS3: Slave Knight Gael, followed closely by Sister Friede. I found Gael to be difficult for my Grim Reaper build, which left me light on armor and damage output, even for my fully upgraded Great Scythe and Friede’s Great Scythe. That and I always choked phase three 😅
    Elden Ring: Starscourge Radahn. I just took a long time to learn his patterns 😅 I am only at Leyndell, Royal Capital right now, so I’m sure that will change.

    I group hard Soulsborne bosses into 3 different categories; 1. 'actually difficult' which is self explanatory I feel, these are usually the most fun bosses in my opinion like Gael for example 2. 'annoying/lazy difficult' these are usually things like gank fights, massive health pools, boss that barely touch the ground or I have to run after endlessly and inconsistent attack delays and 3. 'Fighting the developer is the hardest part of this boss fight difficult' which is things like bad camera control, janky hit boxes on you or them and poor boss area design. Bosses can be in multiple categories at the some time. I know some people say there are good gank fights they've just had more bad than good is all but I disagree in my opinion, I think all gank fights are just lazy game design and they've never pulled off a good one.

Like I just cannot be bothered fighting him. When I summon to help for him it makes me hate everything when he spawns in. Bloodborne for me is Defiled Chalice Amygdala or Laurence. Also personally Friede's hardest phase is the second one and still I haven't lost to her ever. DS3 is Midir and that is for the sheer fact of fighting him in the early DLC days. Let's just say I took less attempts to kill Malenia or Maliketh than him.

    My first playthrough of Elden Ring Malenia took me 106 tries and about 5 hours over the span of 4 days. But my 2nd playthrough only took about 30 tries - and to me her entire difficulty boils down to Waterfowl Dance. She would literally be the easiest Demigod, aside from Godrick, if she didn't have that stupid move. Despite that, I still think NG+ onwards Laurence is the absolute most infuriating boss Fromsoft has created. I despise Laurence so much.

    Fume Knight is far and away the hardest boss in the game imo, ancient dragon is the only thing that came close to giving me as much trouble as FK, and even that paled in comparison to my attempts at fume. Burnt Ivory King really isn’t very hard once you get the mirrors sealed, and I feel given that there’s a very intentional and probably developer intended way to fight BIK, Fume Knight really takes the cake for DS2.

    I've only beated Dark Souls 2, and my personal harder boss was Elana, in every NG I've played the game. I actually only had 1 save in the game, and I got to NG+4 on it, and I never stopped leveling up, so I got every build in just one save, as I had more than enough stats; but I liked straight and great swords overall, specially Artoria's greatsword. So, I don't know if it was me that made the fight against Elana so, so hard, or if she's really the pain in the ass I've had, bringing fucking Velstadt to the arena (and I've never considered Velstadt hard, only in Elana he became annoying).
    Also, I would say Sir Alonne is quite a challenge. Huge heath, he takes little damage from anything, and if you die, you have *that* runback. Fume Knight is a very good pick, but after the first time you beat him, it may become a casual and fun duel. But the whole Burnt Ivory King gimmick is SHITTY, just because of the burnt knights phase; the King is fine, a very good challenge.

    Why does everyone say you have to be on the meta to beat Malenia? You can use your preferred build. It will be very hard but it's not close to impossible. It took me 74 attempts and I didn't change my build one bit and exclusively used the Magma Wyrm Sword. You just have to learn directional dodging and positioning which Elden Ring really wants you to learn and the other Souls games mostly don't have.

  • @YairGatt
    @YairGatt Před 10 měsíci

    Definitely agree with Owl being the hardest boss in Sekiro. Demon of Hatred never gave me too much trouble, as you can just fight it as a fairly standard challenging Soulsborne boss. But Owl (Father) is just such a hurdle, I think I was close to 100 attempts when finally beating him for the first time.
    He is optional though, so I think a lot of people may take on him too early. It may be much easier if you fight him after demon of hatred/Isshin when you have more vitality, posture and attack power

    • @BillySYT
      @BillySYT  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Demon of hatred is a very drawn out fight though. Excluding the damn fireball attack, Demon of hatred has a simplier moveset yes but think of it this way.
      If you fight Father Owl and Demon of Hatred once, who's gonna be harder? Father Owl most likely. Redo these fights ten times, who's harder? Demon of hatred is one of the most demanding fights in terms of endurance, it takes only a few fuck-ups and suddenly you've been grinding against him for an hour straight, that's gotta count for something.

    I've only beaten dark souls 1 and I'm on my second playthrough, and I find Kalameet to not be all that hard. Sure his attacks hit hard, but they're fairly easy to dodge and even if you do get hit, a lot of the time he'll do absolutely nothing for a few seconds after finishing his attack, allowing you to get a rather easy heal. I personally found Artorias to be the hardest on both playthroughs, since He's much faster, there's about 2 times where you can heal (when he's buffing and after the massive jumping attack) and his attacks do a lot of damage and are harder to dodge in my opinion. Good video, good channel

    • @BillySYT
      @BillySYT  Před 9 měsíci +1

      See, the trick with Artorias's buff is that if you have good damage output, you can actually attack him & stun him out of the charging animation, which will cancel the buff. If you're close enough to him when he does that charge, try it next time and see if it works out for you ^^

    For Demon's Souls, for whatever reason, the Maneaters gave me the most trouble. But aside from DS2 it's the Souls game I've played the least, so I don't really have a good frame of reference through which to determine a toughest fight in the game.
    For Dark Souls, it's absolutely Manus the Hand of Fate. Kalameet might take a bit longer just because of his beefy health bar, but Manus is one of those bosses I can't ever seem to wrap my head around no matter how many times I fight him.
    DS3, definitely Slave Knight Gael. Midir and Sister Friede are close behind, and I can't remember but may have spent more time overall on Midir, but no boss in the game stomped me as quickly and efficiently so many times as Gael.
    Bloodborne will always be Orphan of Kos, whomstdve is still undefeated in my list of "longest Fromsoft bosses to beat" at over six hours of attempts before I finally took him down.
    And Elden Ring is of course Malenia, but runners-up are Radagon/Elden Beast and surprisingly Radahn, whom I fought when I think I was relatively low-power comparative to what the game was expecting, so he took me over an hour to finally beat.

There is no other boss that I have died to as many times, and it’s the one boss where no matter how many times I kill it, I am still almost guaranteed to die at least once. The other thing is depending on RNG it can be borderline impossible to actually make that last jump, if it just decides to do those swipes over and over again sometimes there just isn’t enough time in between to actually make it. Every other boss in dark souls 1 I feel like you at least have a fighting chance on every attempt.
