- A short video of my experience during my first IAM Skills Day at Blyton Park Race Track near Scunthorpe.
It was the first time the IAM had run a day here and my first ever experience of riding on track.

Enjoyed the ride! I recently took the IAM test and saw this session on the web site - sadly it was already fully booked. It would have been really convenient for me - I live about a 30 minute ride away. I must keep a lookout for the next one. Subbed.
I checked a few times, during the year,, and they were all sold out. Then I noticed that they had just added this new track and I managed to get the last place. It was sheer luck. Keep checking the website as I believe the dates for next year will be released soon. It really is worthwhile. Congratulations on passing, by the way👍
HRT Training are running a Skills day at Cadwell on 11th April 2023 and I know they have some spare places. I'm booked in for that day so my first time on a track too. I took my IAM test last year.
@@johnbateman3244 Thanks for the tip - I watched the IAM Website or this years courses and have booked one in May. I've done several Lincs Road Safety Partnership Bikesafe days at Cadwell - and I think the track riding was handled by HRT. Enjoyed the day and boosted my confidence greatly, hope you enjoy yours.
Great intro to a IAM track day, Thank you, got me thinking about it now! Only bit of positive feedback/advise, Your voice was only just audible at times, with the music a little too high. Thanks again
Thanks for the feedback. I am still learning the ins and outs of balancing audio, video and background music and I hope to get better with each video and here’s one piece of advice for you; stop thinking about it and book it! You won’t regret it.😉 Cheers Ralph
great video, thanks. Just got my full licence in december 22, booked on iam in july, croft. I'll def be in the slowest group, however wondering if even this would be too much (fast) for me, (i caught the comment about you touching your footpeg down lol) and i Need more experience.
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed it. You will love the Skills Day. Don’t worry about your speed. Trust me, I am not a fast rider. As it’s your first you will automatically be in a ‘slower’ group, but you are assessed continually and, like me, you can change groups and even end up with one-to-one training if theirs enough instructors. The speed comes as a natural side effect of becoming more confident. Cheers Ralph

IMHO it would've been better video without the music.
I’m still trying to get the balance right and music is so subjective. Thanks for the comment.
