Omg I get my mom to shower but maybe 2-3 times a month. My mom isn’t to the point were this would work. I’m not sure what to do

I have an uncle, my dad's older brother who is living at a living assistant home. He refuses to shower and to change his clothes. No matter what I say or do he won't shower( 3-5 weeks). For example, when I said something like " ok uncle, let get yourself ( clean, shower, or spa treatment) then after we get you clean we're going downstairs and have lunch at the dining room." Once I said something like this he will say " yea lets go eat" and he avoids my deal by not showering first. He will get angry and would say something like " this young generation is too controlling." or " don't be too crazy like my dad focusing him to shower...." my dad tries to help him, but my uncle tries to hit him with his walker. What should I do? I am at the point just to quit. It is tough to get him to be clean? He has dementia.

Is the spouse also part of the problem?

Honestly the best teqnique for me is saying you have a dr appointment or hair cut tomorrow and I say I need to wash your..blah blah with a prescription soap before you go in, for your uncle I would say foot wash, get him in the shower..warm shower and door closed and from the feet God willing, slowly work more water up the body, always being respectful but if it's been so long, accidentally.. shoot his head not in his face but it will allow you to wash his hair face and neck. It's all about redirection, like oops sorry but at the same time you go for it, time is of essence, he'll initially be mad but he will be Clean and happier

Also use alot of towels, it might get crazy on the floor, prepare all his bathing things soap ready shampoo ready, put a face towel on bath seat and shoot it with warm water so he is comftarble when he sits, warmth is key and safety, it prevents slipping. Don't discuss too much, keep it to uncle dr wants you to wash your feet with this prescription soap for tomorrow, let's go to the bathroom, ask him to toilet and soon as he sits down remove pants brief whatever you can, then walk into shower, running water and warm seat, always reassure it'd drs request and if personality permits reassure what a good job they are doing. Make sure their briefs and clothes are handy after shower, warmth is key, if you change in shower put a dry towel on floor to avoid wet feet in clothes and always keep a towel handy for wiping wet buts when they stand to wipe and put on bath seat or closed toilet seat so they can be dressed safely

Does Teepa have content in Spanish by any chance? She's incredible and I know so many people who could benefit of the information.
