Agreed. I personally hate the CMaj7th chord the most. It's almost like nails on a chalkboard to my ears. The Cmin and Cdom are slightly more tolerable, though crappy as well.
I respectfully disagree to the fullest. It's never the chord, it's the artist. A poor artist can be given all the so-called finest chords and do little with it, and a great artist can be given so-called mediocre chords and make magic. Nevertheless, the Cmajor7th happens to be one of my all time favorite, an absolutely beautiful sound.
