Eddy Arnold had 57 top ten singles. 19 were number one. He sold 85 million records, 147 songs on the Billboard Country charts. In 1948 he had 5 successful songs on the charts at the same time. He was only second to George Jones in total record sales. Legend is kind of an understatement when it comes to Eddy Arnold. He had the Midas touch for many years.
This is why I love roaming around on CZcams. I get to come upon gems like this. I am not necessarily a western song fan, with some exceptions. But, this song is such a legend, and wonderfully performed.
Yes sir Eddie Arnold Johnny Cash Hank & Hank Jr. Waylon Jennings Willy Nelson George Jones. Tammy Wynet Patsy Cline Loretta Lynn Dolly Parton were all Ledgons. LeAnn Rimes and Miley Cyrus Gretchen Wilson Reba McEntire and a few other ladies will also be in the Ledgondairy status circle here in just a few more years. I there are people out there that do not care much for Miley and I was one of them myself up until I heard her singing a cover for baby I'm in the mood for you.
When I heard Miley singing that song I had to sit up and listen to her sing. Even the people that doesn't care much about her but iffin they really listen to her sing some of the covers that she sings. Now if they are truly honest about it will have to admit that Miley Cyrus can sing and make any song sound down right amazing. She does an awesome job on singing the Pink Floys songs Comfortably numb and Wish you were here and then she does amazing singing AC/DCs Dirty Deeds. Not to mention her singing Blondies Heart of Glass and Joan Jetts I Love Rock And Roll and I Hate Myself For Loving You. Miley has one of them one in a million voices. Because that beautiful young lady can sing ANYTHING weather it be Counry Rock Pop or anything else that she may want to try. Miley has more raw talent than can be spoken of. I am now a great fan of hers. I would love to hear her team up with and sing the amazing Elton John and Tammy Wynet song. What a woman needs. As I said Miley Cyrus can sing ANYTHING that she sets her mind to sing. The NFL should absolutely sign Miley Cyrus up for a Superbowl halftime show.
I have Cattle Call on a CD in my car and I sing with Eddie everywhere I go! I love those old Western cowboy songs. I am 83 years old and singing in my car keeps my voice strong. Thank you for playing this song!
Now that was nice music…not like today where the singers are screaming and the band music is still louder than they are….and you can understand the words they’re singing, the story of the song. Great music gone forever 🥲😡
Because of some of the shenanigans she pulled when she was still a teenager and the way she treated her parents. She went to Hollywood and thought she was all that and basically kicked her parents out of her life.
Listened 🎶 to Eddie Arnold growing up. He was my dad's favorite country singer. Love it...miss daddy...😢but SMILE BIG hearing this in 2024. Sweet memories. Texas Nana
Quite a few years ago my sister and I took our Mother to hear Eddy Arnold at the Lyric Theatre in Baltimore. Somewhere in the song he started the Oooo, Oooo's - he stopped singing and said - "You didn't think I could still do it , did you'? Quite the moment - I hope he liked our response - everyone was on their feet.
@stonewall73 Agreed. I wish I had been part of that era. Unfortunately, I was born too late. I would, also, like to point out that I appreciate your perfect grammar and sentence structure. It is deplorable how low Academia has sunk. Good grammar has become a rarity. Shameful.
@@aldapellegrino6712 Thank you, Alda. My dad, who passed away last year, was a former English teacher, prolific writer, and grammar/vocabulary stickler, so it's rather hard-wired with me. Heck, I am the only person I know that still begins email paragraphs with the first word spaced to the right, lol. I, too, mourn the loss of proper writing skills. Much like yourself, I assume, I actually gain a sense of satisfaction (and dare I say, surprise) when I discover decently written and expressed ideas in a comments section such as this. Sad state of affairs, indeed. At any rate, have a great day. I'm glad you got to discover and enjoy the music of this era. I was a 23 year old working in a tire shop when I first heard this song. I was mesmerized, and immediately recognized that I was listening to something quite special.
Only one word about LeAnn, WOW, I drove an 18 wheeler for over 30years,and a heart attack, ended that career, I love all country, and listened to LeAnn and was blown away, whether it was many patsy cline songs she was singing, I actually got to see LeAnn at the Garland festival this year and I fell in love with that beautiful lady, 😍 my beautiful wife, loves listening to her as well , how can anyone not fall in love with LeAnn Rimes , her life tragedies breaks anybodies heart, she is truly a star made in heaven
Unbelievable harmonics out of both of them. Heard Eddy Arnold original years ago he's absolutely still on pitch. Didn't know LeAnn Rimes could sing that good.
I saw LeAnn sing this song at a show in Chattanooga when she was 12 years old and being an Eddy Arnold fan from the '40s and '50s I knew she had it. She also did some Patsy Cline songs that doubly convinced me she was the real thing.
I saw her at the Tivoli Theater too. She was 14, Blue was riding high on the charts and One Way Ticket had just been released. After hearing Blue on the radio and watching the video, I had to go and see if she was for real. Bill Monroe had just passed away and she sang Blue Moon Of Kentucky. She sang the first verse in his style, then her band kicked and she sang the second verse like Elvis. But the crowd didn't seem to understand what she was doing. Then a little later, she sang I Will Always Love You - but not like Dolly. She sang it like Whitney Houston and that's when I knew she was the real deal. I bought an 8 X 10 photo in the lobby and had the Blue CD with me. After the show ended, she had to do interviews with a couple of radio stations. But we're told that if we wanted to meet her, just to hang around, because after she finished with the radio interviews she'd come back and meet with anybody who wanted to wait. It took close to 30 minutes for her to finish. But when she did, she met with everybody who waited around, was as nice and as friendly as she could be and signed autographs for all of us. Yes, I still have mine.
I'm so glad Eddie Arnold came out to perform this with LeAnn. I saw him perform years ago at the Indiana state fair in Indianapolis years ago and he is sia wonderful and talented performer. 🥰💕❤️
How eerie and beautiful their voices are. This is a song unlike any other. I had forgotten what sensational high notes the young LeAnn could hit. ....Can she still hit them? They somehow manage, with their yodeling, to recreate the joy and solitude of cowboys in an almost infinite mountain wilderness. This yodeling has traveled very far from the Alps to the Rockies or Sierras.

Eddy's voice is liquid gold, and LeAnn mastered an absolute classic!
Absolutely NO ONE can sing as good as LeAnn Rimes.

LeAnn rides has a great voice made in heaven, and she is so beautiful, I just love everything about her, her and Eddie Arnold are great together ❤️
Anybody that don't like this kind of music must have a tin ear.
Who are the backing group. They appear in a lot of Leann’s early clip’s. Great group who ever they are.
I have Cattle Call on a CD in my car and I sing with Eddie everywhere I go! I love those old Western cowboy songs. I am 83 years old and singing in my car keeps my voice strong. Thank you for playing this song!
What a complete and utter delight… how wonderful that must have been for Leanne to put her great talent with his to record this forevermore…💝
Eddy Arnold is a legend, and extra kudos to LeAnn Rimes for even attempting this song yet alone nailing it perfectly.
Hello how are you doing today…?😊
LeAnn has been yodeling since she was a little girl. She was taught by Texas Yodeling Queen Janet McBride.
big respect to LeAnn for respecting Eddy Arnold.
Now that was nice music…not like today where the singers are screaming and the band music is still louder than they are….and you can understand the words they’re singing, the story of the song. Great music gone forever 🥲😡
Why LeAnn only became a star and not a mega star is very puzzling to me. The best since Patsy Cline.
Because of some of the shenanigans she pulled when she was still a teenager and the way she treated her parents. She went to Hollywood and thought she was all that and basically kicked her parents out of her life.

This brought back memories of my mom.
I’m 72 years old and I’m still enjoying Eddie Arnold singing. This is a great version of Mr. Arnold’s classic.😢

Pure music, a blend of Swiss yodeling, Irish mountain music , cowboy, and blues. Timeless, and never fails to make me smile.
Literally by far the most wonderful thing I have come across since I started 2024...😍😍
She's in a league of her own. That soaring voice. An unforgettable rendition of Eddie's song.
She sure is. She has a sound all her own. She really loved doing that with Eddy. Love his music too.
Clear back when she broke out at age 14 or something with Commitment
LeAnn I have to say you’re so beautiful and both of you sing together is out of this world
To this very day it is still so very magical to listen to these two gifted voices singing together.
Hello! How are you doing today! Please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you're a fan!... Stay safe
You are so right
I know, huh??
He kept his voice a lot better than many singers his age.
so nice to see Eddy Arnold joining with LeAnn Rimes with this Classic Song. Loved it!
LeAnn actually asked Eddie Arnold to come out of Retirement to Perform It with Her; and He was Happy To Oblige.
What a great thing fro her to do
This is something she'll remember for the rest of her life. Eddie was from the golden age of Country Music. What a great singer.
I love hearing stories like this
I have this cassette.
Eddie Arnold and Leanne rhimes
Love Eddie Arnold since I was a teenager ❤
Thats just beautiful ❤
He’s was one of the best!!!!
The old and the young singing a magnificent duet.
That was such a pleasure to hear .
Eddy Arnold was HUGE back in the day. He always had song or two on the radio. LeAnn is great as well.
Reminds me of my Dad, it was one of his favorite songs.
Love love her music
The greatest singer ever
In women country singers
Leanna voice soars far far above the need for showy revealing outfits What a lady! And Eddy is superb!
My absolute favorite song, I love how LeAnn sings it. Eddy Arnold is spectacular.
Made me cry.Mom loved Eddie. LeAnn Rimes is just a beautiful talent.
Why doesn't this video have more likes?

LeAnn is right up there with Patsy Cline as the best set of pipes of any female country singer ever!
Two beautiful voices producing One Beautiful Song.
Thank you, Eddie and LeAnn.
You're the best.
My mother used to sing this to me when I was a kid. She had a great voice. Too bad these songs will be lost as the cowboy tradition slowly disappears.
My grandmother loved this song. Wish could of heard Leanne.
In my opinion, the most beautiful duet of any genera ever sung.
