Another great genetics lesson! It would be pretty sweet to see a blue hognose... 🐍
I think the axanthic is my favorite color morph for hognose. I really like the silvery grey colors and also the crazy combos you can make with other recessive genes. Just got my first axanthic conda last month.
Good choice!
Great video, I was waiting for this one!! Little did I know you’d be using MY snake for the “example” photo! 👍 He’s a 6/2020 male Axanthic 100% het for Snow, imported from Germany and sold by Miami Reptile Co. via MorphMarket. Thanks for making him famous! Keep up the great work!
Yeah I got that picture from morph. It's a good example of an axanthic
Shovel Nose Hogs well, he arrived a couple days ago and he was NOT the snake in the photo. Apparently Miami Reptile Co doesn’t feel the need to follow Morph Market’s rules. They initially lied trying to say the one we got was a clutchmate to the photo, but one of their managers (Jason) eventually admitted to me that they use generic photos for their listings there (due to volume). No apology was offered, but they did offer a full refund (but wouldn’t do a partial). We’ve decided not to put the snake through the stress of being returned but will never do business with Miami Reptile Co again and reported them to Morph Market for posting intentionally misleading listings. Sorry for the downer update but I didn’t want people to think I was lying about having bought the snake you featured. 🤷♂️
@@MichaelBlueMusic So did they refund you money?
That's messed up. Yeah I'm pretty sure they are supposed to at least say if it's not the snake pictured...
Hopefully you are happy now with the one you have.😊
@@Upper_echelon_exotics they offered a full refund if we returned him, we decided to keep him. And yes, Morph Market’s rules are to use photos of the actual animal being sold. Miami Reptiles are fraudsters, plain and simple.
@@MichaelBlueMusic Okay I will be sure to avoid them then!
Are you happy with the one you have now?
I’m learning so much from your videos. Thank you for taking the time to put these out
Glad you like them!
I love these videos so much! They're honestly one of the most helpful videos when getting started and figuring out how you want to move forward! No one else is making videos like these that are so straightforward and visual! Thanks!
thanks for the comment
I love sable/axanthic! That'll be my next project after snow.
Dan Eby has been producing a lot of them this year
Excited to see your new hognose! And the snake rack vid! Thanks for the video.
Beo love this channel more and more . Your doing the work brother! thank you
What!! You were at 200 subscribers a week ago! Congrats on 10x that number now. You were recommended in my feed for whatever reason and it's paid off.
I love what you can create with the axanthic gene...especially the storm cloud! Good call on a superconda version! Can you imagine?! 😍 looking forward to seeing your revamped snake rack and the new hoggie! Keep up the great videos! 👍👏
I definitely will have those videos out soon
Really good video series.
i love your vibe and approach to these videos! hognose snakes are my favorite type of snake i’ll probably never own one but i can live vicariously through your videos haha! i hope you make more morph videos!
I'm definitely got more coming out
I'm glad I found you on here, I only knew of a few basic morphs but didn't know where to start to see the others and their combos! I liked the lavender before, but I love the mercury!
The mercury is nice and it's not too many people that have produced them
Brilliant video 🙌🏻
I just got a gorgeous female axanthic conda from the 2023 pomona reptile super show (shoutout to reptile factory in downey). Im calling her 7 of 9.... Star trek fans will get it, haha. She has the same colors as the female Star trek borg character 7 of 9.
These are my favorite morphs! This video was so helpful!
I believe the Caramels have more of a peach hue to the toffeebelly's yellower and brown colors. At least that is how I tell them apart. I know that Caramel's also have a reduced head pattern. Caramel Superconda's are almost a singularly colored snake with very minimal to no head stamp, super cool! I have a Caramel dbl het albino, evans hypo female and a Diablo Frosted male that I have big plans for.
I forgot about the reduced head patterns of the caramels
Due to my research about Axanthic, I actually figured out that "Platinum" is an Arctic Superconda and has nothing to do with Axanthic (of course Axanthic can be added). 😊
You're correct, an Artic superconda is called a Platinum. Thanks for the clarification! 🥰👍
@@MoonstonePlains
My pleasure, thank you too! 😃
Just subscribed going to get my favorite non venomous here added to my collection soon!!!
Omg I love content creators that actually read and reply to their comments, you ate gaining brownie points left and damn right bro, and the information is amazing and interesting as well!
Great video! Idon't have any hognoses yet, but I really want an Axanthic Superconda for my first one. I already bought a Honduran milk snake this year, so I'm going to wait until next year. I have to limit myself lmao. I'd have too many If I didnt.
Love Cleo’s Kingdom! They’re local for me so hopefully I get to have one of their snakes at some point.
I like the lavenders she produces
I love the white ones, I'm getting my baby ghost hog next week
Informative video with good info . Hopefully you make it up to Daytona. I got my first hognose out there in 2019 from j and c hognose. Should be a relaxing show
Yep I'll be there all Saturday
"on the right, you see an albino superconda axanthic and on the right-hand side you see just a plain albino" bruh moment
I was wondering if you could make a video on the toffee gene In the future I am going to try to building up a project for green line toffees.
I definitely can
Awesome thanks!
My lavender boi looks *exactly* like a Mercury--it would be interesting to see what he could make with axanthic.
nice!
Question! You say mixing an Axanthic x Albino (etc) creates the Yeti / Snows, Does your Albino need to be a het Axanthic as well? Or will any albino morph suffice?
That Platinum is looking absolutely fire. I only got my first Hognose (Toffee) yesterday and I am already looking at the other morphs.
What would a toxic lavender look like
What about snow + lavender (or mercury + albino, or coral + axanthic)?
Forgot about those
Can you tell me what happens when you mix a snow with a lavender?
A lavender snow has been produced. I have a picture of it in my updated Lavender morph video
Sweet video, I received my first hognose this week Axanthic 66% het albino 50% het toffee belly, however i think I misjudged the size of pinky so he didn’t eat! Fingers crossed he eats tonight 🤞🏻🤞🏻 He’s in my latest video if you want to have a look 🙂
I'll subscribe to your channel
If I bred a 100% Het Albino 50% Het Toffee Belly with an Axanthic would it produce a toxic morph? Or would the toffee belly have to be 100%
The toxic morph is a visual toffee and axanthic so both snakes need to have those genes. With the combination you provided the babies would be 100% het axanthic, 50% het albino, and 25% het toffee
@@shovelnosehogs thank you ☺️
Great video I'm new to hobby can you tell me what normal conda 50% hey albino explain what it means
It means that it's a wild type color with a reduced pattern that has a 50% chance of carrying the albino gene
Thanks I did see it's siblings there was three albino's I was going to get the albino
To get the snow morph can it be any type of albino mix with the axanthic ?
Yep
@@shovelnosehogs alright one more question would it still work if it’s a albino superconda with a axanthic normal ?
Question: can hognose snake be on an all frog diet? I want a hognose but i am afraid of mice :(
Yes but it's pretty hard to find a consistent supply of frogs. You also run the risk of your Hognose getting parasites if you feed it wild caught frogs
@@shovelnosehogs ah i see, thankyou for the answer
That was what I told my son it’s his job to feed his corn snake that was a year ago, i’m researching hognoses so I could go get several of them next month to start breeding them. I have gotten over my fear of mice because I couldn’t let his baby snake die
@@amandaduran-kellar4012do you feed live or frozen thawed mice? Did you ever get your hognoses?
Axanthic supercondas are what i wanna breed with my albino 100% het axanthic boy i named ghost
That would be nice especially if you can find an axanthic superconda that's het albino
new name hog noodle
I already have a Hognose named noodle. It's the yellow one
@@shovelnosehogs dude your awesome
