    It's crazy how basically adding a quick effect to a pre-existing card is enough to make this deck a potential threat. Madolche is one of those archetypes that feels super close to being good but is just barely off and this definitely helps it get there.

    • @chaotixthefox
      @chaotixthefox Před měsícem +8

      That's how Madolche always is. Because Konami just keeps building on top of an inherently flawed foundation. To free the deck from this zone you need to print a card(s) that condenses several miscellaneous pieces of engine and alleviates the choke points. The archetype needs to pull too many vulnerable pieces together to do its thing.

    • @PokemonGoGetter
      @PokemonGoGetter Před měsícem +6

      @@chaotixthefox At this point it is to late to remove the Madolche restrictions since cards like Petting are already printed. So they can only add cards to the archetype so it can do better while playing under that restriction. Madolche and Exosister both suffer from this key issue that they cannot be used with other archetypes except cards like the Vernusylph for Madolche and the spirit package for Exosisters.

    • @blueskyalchemist623
      @blueskyalchemist623 Před měsícem +6

      @@PokemonGoGetterI actually prefer that. Seeing all the top tier decks with little or no restriction is just plain boring. Snake Eye Fire King has like 2-3 good effs each card and little to no restriction. Yubel? No restriction. Tenpai Dragon? No restriction either.

    • @PokemonGoGetter
      @PokemonGoGetter Před měsícem +1

      @blueskyalchemist623 That is fine, but generic decks like snake-eye/fire king or dragon link should be a bit weaker in their effects if they are so generic, while decks like Madolche or Exosister should be a bit stronger with their effects if they are playing by a heavy restriction. Snake eye is just a worse version of full power tearl, but snake eye is still strong for what it does. At least with the Savage and Fleur banned, the next generic deck white woods is much weaker without those, too. While link once again gets a new omni negate (is mandatory) with the new light and darkness dragon, which is easy to fetch out and fusion summon after doing all their combos

    Little correction: A lot of people saw this support coming since it was recenctly announced that the Madolche core gets reprinted in the OCG together with Thunder Dragons, Drytron and Muskets then we got Drytron support, Fiendsmith and a new Thunder monster that works well with Thunder Dragons. So we knew that we would either get direct Madolche support or something that works well with Madolche.

      Well yea, sadly the core problem of madolche still there. Weak to handtraps and interruption, especially nib.

    • @PokemonGoGetter
      @PokemonGoGetter Před měsícem +1

      If they can just get an archetype handtrap Madolche card that stops other handtraps, that would be fair considering when you are playing madolche at the core, you can only use madolche and Vernusylph engine. It can not be mixed like other decks do with snake eye/voiceless/runick/fiendsmith/etc. Because even though orange light is an option, if you use the Vernusylph cards, you are locked into earth. Plus, Madolche isn't pure fairy, unlike decks like melodious, who will gladly run orange light since it's a pure fairy deck.

    Ive been testing between board breakers and handtraps, come to the conclusion that sky striker package seems to work best. Decks flexible and hand traps are good but petting can clash with them, forcing you to rely on vernusylphs or anjelly, both incredibly weak to ash. Board breakers dont clash but forces you into second and with yubel and tenpai meta, probably not the best pick.
    Sky striker engine can break boards second with capacity going first & the extra bodies can make the new link 3 really easily opening up play lines that might not have been more available, definately worth a try!

    so magileine now ends on a double spin, a mudora, a hot red, infinite followup, a puddingcess your opponent needs to deal with and... what do you mean ash, well i guess 1 magileine ends on oh nothing. why did we get 2 more end pieces when the biggest issue with madolche is that you need to somehow see 0 interruptions to do anything. what we needed was an in archetype vernusylph like card that also has an optinal the level reduction effect of petingcessour so that that is no longer the obvious choke point
    ps.: is it now actually play 3 messengelato? i can'T for the life of me find a way to get messengelato into the deck pre link 3 in the magileine as starter line. if you could with just 2 messengelato you would end on both traps the 3 spells and the 2 xyz. but with vernusylph drawing messengelato wouldn't be all that bad now that there is an extradeck beast

  • @llamaryder1
    @llamaryder1 Před měsícem

    IMO madolche had 2 fatal flaws: the combos, like you said in the video, has really really crucial choke points that cause 1-2 interruptions at key moments to be scoop-worthy, and very weak intereuptions will do that. And the second flaw is that going first, they just really didnt have much interruption. You just put up the trap and some protection monsters and pray that you make it to the next turn.
    The fact that konami is addressing both of these key flaws gives me a ton of hope! Madolche is a super fun deck, i love their playstyle of swarming the field and insane recurrability that gets even better the more of their s/t you get out. Having some of the best removal available for very little investment is always great. The fact they added this to a quick effect now definitely gives them a much needed boost to modern times!
    Madolche was always an OTK deck. Let's face it: there's no such thing as an OTK deck in 2024. If your deck *cant* otk against minimal board presence, it is not going to have a fun time. Even sky striker, a deck specifically made to only use one monster every turn and chip away at the opponent, can otk with the greatest of ease. Merlanteans adapted and became a hand rip deck. Cyber dragon tried to adapt and becomes infinity+therion turbo turn one. Hell, even gren maju decks pump out a few rank 8s for disruption when forced to go first.
    OTK decks, or really any one trick pony deck, needs to adapt or survive. Im very happy they recognized this and gave madolches support, i figured after the last wave with the one card starter we might not get any more legacy support. Im happy to be wrong and that they actually solve problems within the deck!

There's no vernusylph that's a 1 card either, you either need two of them or a good madolche discard. The only 1 card is Peting/Magileine into Peting. Hoot cake is great as a normal if paired with a vernusylph or when going second after using hand traps, but if you're going second with hts Peting isn't live on her own anymore. It may be viable to use the Normal Summon Mew to get 2 Madolche onto the field to get close to the Link 3. That way, if you also open Messengelato, you get to add Salon. And if they don't hit that with Ash/Imperm/Veiler, the followup Vern or Petting may be too detrimental, and if they do, the followup Vern into Petting is full combo anyway.
      They'd need 2 disruptions to stop them from playing but they'd have up to 2 more followups.
