No, thank you Kevin for showing the knife lovers out here how to love and take care of these little beauties.
I am now 72 and started collecting knives around the age of 10-12 years of age.
Coming from a happy, but poor family money was short. I remember trading my marbles for a old English Richards.
Over the years my collection grew to over 600 knives, I have now sold off many and still have approximately 100 knives.
Have you ever seen a pipe cleaners knife.
Barry, New Zealand.
Love the wood scaled knives.
Thank you
That HUbertus leverlock with the blue tint in the scales really opens pretty fast. All great blades.
Thank you!!
I subscribed after seeing Randy send you all those wonderful old pocket knives. What a nice gesture.
I have a small suggestion. I’d recommend you use surgical gloves for several reasons with one hand covered also by a white cotton glove on either your dominant or non-dominant hand which ever you prefer.
Reasons:
1. Skin oils cause staining and starts the process of imperfections. The higher acid content of your skin oil the quicker the metal reaction. Some of this acidic skin oils is dependent on the foods and drinks consumed.
2. Safety. You don’t want to be exposed to various chemicals and mixes long term. Certain cancers have been increasing, colon, prostate, liver etc., so limiting exposure makes good sense.
3. Cleaning of your hands will be much easier and there’s less chance to spread chemicals throughout your home and internally.
Nice hobby you have. Live long and prosper.
Thank you for sharing this! Thank you!
Congratulations 🎉Derek Martin.
Thanks!
Hey there, the big Hubertus knife is still in production by Hubertus and other german makers like Otter and Löwen i guess. It called "Notschlachter" which means "Emergency Butcher". Don`t asked me why. And it is meant to be a working knife. The two bladed knife in the middle with corkscrew and the black handles is a typical knife for Germany in the first 2/3 of the twentiest century for general EDC. I hope that is interesting to you to hear this from a knifelover in Germany.
Thanks for sharing this!!
Thanks again.
Congratulations
Love the knives
Thank you!!
I don’t know how everyone else uses their Flitz. I put a small amount where I need it ,then use my Dremel with large buffing pad and it will clean anything you put it own. Been using it for many years,l Love it.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this!!
Sounds like we’re from the same town. I rode down Manchester expressway today. Love your videos.

Dang. Love that Henkels
Congrats to the winner. Great video.
Thank you!!
the oil clean is a great way to work out gunk. i just though while watching blasting it with compressed air between oil cycles might get a lot of the trash out quicker
Nice knives Sir. Thanks for sharing.

Solingen has been a place to buy steel for the last 1000 years, even in medival times swords made in Solingen had a great reputation.
Some cool knives. They came out very nice. Thanks for sharing, Live Long Prosper and Collect Your Own Way!
That sure is satisfying watching you clean those knives up

Love those Hubertus knives, I have the springer knives like you green one. Excellent quality bar none. And you are a 100% correct they are still in production. Love and enjoyed you video.
Thank you!!
Cool! Congrats
Thanks!
@@theknifedoctor you're welcome
That Hubertus with the dark wood scales looked either like walnut or mahogany to me.
Thank you!!
@@theknifedoctorI was thinking that it was rosewood. Walnut often is lighter colored, it could be mahogany. Rosewood has a natural oily feel to it. I have a few German made knives that have rosewood handles and they look similar.
Love the content doc. Thank you for inspiring me to start making videos. I have been procrastonating for years on starting making content.
Awesome!! Thank you!!
Great bunch of knives. I agree with lots of oil. Sometimes even a brand new straight from the factory knife needs a good flushing out. The action just feels a little gritty but after ya flush it, it's perfect. 👍
Thank you!!
Really enjoyed this episode. All the best from Stephen Jeffrey of port Royal SC.
Thank you!!
I have a Boker that’s over one hundred years old, seldom needs the Arkansas a little strope will do.
Awesome!!
Congrats to the winner!
That F.A. Bauer barlow is really cool. I love the flat bolster. I just googled the name, apparently he moved to Florida after ww2 and was an importer of Solingen knives, but had some made under his name brand.
Another great video. 👍
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this!!
Beautiful knives 😊
You need to start watching for Eye Brands too. Carl Schlieper., great knives.
That German Hubertus is worth almost $300.00 a new one runs about $195.00 at the lowest. they are called "Aufspringmesser" (burst open knife) by the Germans so the knife is known as a "springer" Some knife experts argue that the spring mechinism in these knives was invented in America by George Schrade but no proof was given and a patent was never made for it and the Germans used this spring action up to the mid 20th century.
Thanks for sharing this!!
I have. Hubert us switch blade like that except has stags unfortunately the spring has broken and does not shoot out
I’ve been using mineral oil to lube and wash out pocket knives because someone recommended it as it is food grade (non toxic) and low cost. It also doesn’t have any scent. Not sure if it performs better than the spray oil I was using, but scent free is nice. I love my carbon steel knives but I need to get around to cleaning up the ones I had as a kid (stored away of course) so your videos will help me do that, thanks. I Bought some Flitz , so maybe I can get them to shine.
outstanding 👍❗💯🏆🗡️
that hubertus auto thing is pretty damn cool
It really is!!
Awesome 👍🎉
Those are all really nice. I also love German mfgr traditional knives. Have a Hubertus lever lock automatic like yours but smaller with wood scales from 2008 or so. They still make them but they sell fast and it's very difficult to get them. Been looking to get myself a larger one with bone like yours... someday. My most recent is the SMKW Boker copper gentlemans club knife. Keep up with the videos and SF brother.
Thanks for sharing this!! Thank you!
Great vid bud keep up the great work
Thank you!!
The wood handles may be Redwood 😊
Nice >>>>>> Thank you
Tender, loving, care 😊
Nice knifes kiven thanks so much
Thank you!!
@@theknifedoctor thanks so much
You should get an endorsement from Remington Gun Oil and have the oil given to you.
LOL!
Harbor Freight, you need to go there and get some inexpensive gloves! many sizes, many thicknesses! using those cleaning fluids bare handed to work on knives is why your fingers are cracking, and not so very supple. Get some rubber gloves, won't change the venue of restoring knives.
LOL.
Congratulations
Definitely got better snap.😊
Thank you!!
Want to sell that hubertus lever lock? I’d be interested in it if you wanted to sell it.
Thank you, but no. Thanks for watching!
The wood handles on the old knives is most likely rose wood
Thanks for sharing this!!
Want to sell the Henckels? Today my 35th birthday 😏
LOL. I think I’ll keep it. Thanks for asking though! Happy Birthday!
Do you want to sell any of these knives?
No…thanks for asking though. Thanks for watching!
Why carry 4 knives?
Good Question!! I just like feeling prepared for anything and everything I encounter through out the day. Every knife has a different purpose and I just like reaching in my pocket and grabbing a pocket knife or two and open and close them and admire the work I done to it. Thanks for the question!!
