801 strider said all that mess about AKI before Prophet’s AKI beat his behind twice in the qualifiers for red bull kumite, sending him to losers (1st meet), then knocking him out of losers and the qualifiers (2nd meet). That changed his opinion a bit I think because in his new updated tier list he rated AKI more, saying she’s better than initially thought.

I stated he said that before he played Prophet’s AKI and didn’t actually really know the mu as he hadn’t played a formidable AKI and so on…. In other words he doesn’t think Marisa effing deletes AKI anymore….Comprende??

Oh and your music choices are the absolute tits, coming from someone who got into fighting games properly with SF4 and MvC3. I don’t agree that the SF6 soundtrack is that bad, but we need some of that 2000s magic back.
One suggestion: post the playlists in the description, the kids need educating! (I’ve also forgotten which characters some of these themes are for, despite being bangers)

Just to kinda speculate on how strider avoided the lvl 2, assuming you didn't already figure it out, I'm guessing he managed to avoid where the hitboxes for the heavy version of the super appear at and that's how strider got the jump in. I've had this kind of thing happen to me before and it's why this super is so bad at pinning people down mid-full screen unless you act REALLY early but even then it's not guaranteed. Certified AKI moment
Yeah, it has the appearance of a projectile, but it looks like more of a remote striking super where it only lands on opponents on the far edge of the screen. Sure a lot of players just learned something there. RIP S2 chip potential.
I'm not sure why Strider was convinced that Gladius makes this matchup for Marisa. It didn't seem to be doing that much work. Maybe he was just fighting Akis who didn't know how to deal with it.
Its the threat. Aki cant use half her best neutral tools bexause armor just rips through them at the worst range imaginable. Stryder literally exists and it shuts down half of Akis options.
idk if you’ve tried it in this video (I might not watch the whole thing) but, during Marisa target combo on block into Gladius, Aki can use light slide to avoid all of Marisa’s charged Gladiuses. Stand light punch target combo is also fast enough to break the armor. If you use light slide on a light charged Gladius, then you’re only +2 but if you dodge medium/heavy charged Gladius you get a punish counter combo
I can see what Broski means in regards to the matchup being all over the place. If Aki's on the offensive, the Marisa has to guess until she finds a way out. And then it's Aki's turn to start guessing all the same. What's crazier is the back and forth. Cause you can tell Broski and Strider get too comfortable in the lead, thinking they got their opponent figured out, but then either one of them pull the craziest, unexpected BS that disorients the opponent and lets them pressure into perfects back and forth. Also, I personally believe Strider started abusing Gladius towards the end cause he was already in the lead and on top of that, he wasn't really using Gladius much to begin with, fishing for Gladius hits is what had him lose health from the poison all those other times during the beginning. Even he knew Unga Bunga Punch was effective, but not the answer.
Awesome set! Marissa definitely gives me issues with AKI. Her, Cammy, Kim and Blanka are my toughest matchups id say (in no particular order). Basically any character that makes you think twice about throwing out bubbles
I think the ending lvl2 super missed because the heavy version was used? I think it may have worked if Light or Medium was used instead (except the hitbox i believe is closed to the ground, rather than in the air).

The Gief strong down punch ground bounce only in case of a punisch counter witch is not the case after a perfect parry so it can't be use as Broski said. This buff is for Modern player because they don't have access to strong kick and forward strong kick to have a move that lanch or bounce the adversary for massive combo damage after a wiff ( DP for exemple). Then the down down mk "buff" is useless. It could be great if other changes make it usable in combo so maybe it coulb be a way to make Gief combo make a little bit more damage witch would be great. If it not the case , this move is useless and this buff didn't do anything about what make him useless. So it will not be use exactly as before. But i think we need to see the other changes to know.
The problem with Marisa that I run into is that typcially she has to make one or two guesses less than I do. Which is normally fine, but I played about 50 games with my Marisa main friend that im about equal skill with and when it comes down to winning RPS that many time the numbers really add up.
That happened to me last night against a Ryu player. I baited his jump with a fireball and then a I did level 2. For some reason he jumped over the whole thing. I was so confused.
Very nice set i don't mind this aki vs Marisa matchup it kinda like gulie matchup to me the way i treat it lol but i have my moment's when to gladius aki still it not that free either way if i got in Marisa showtine ggs 😁 seriously though that ending is crazy😮

Man what a crazy finish. A lvl2 that doesn't anti-air reliably? I'm sure Marisa players know nothing about that But seriously, doesn't AKI have multiple versions of her lvl2? Might be worth examining the hitboxes in greater detail
Well, I know this isn't saying much as a bronze Marisa player- But until recently (accounting for my lack of playtime aswell) I got mostly dominated by Aki, she broke alot of Marisas armored moves
Marisa is such a boring character. "Me hit medium punch, me spam gladius, me do big damage". She just has zero depth to her. I like me some Gus, but this character bores me to tears. Knuckle dragging at its finest. That level 2 moment was horrendous. Jesus christ Capcom, what is that?

He likely meant it as a joke, but maybe he meant the threat of it forces opponents into certain situations?
Threat of Gladius is really strong. It forces people to stay well away from marisa and take risks to get in else they get walked to the corner.
