This was my first Dreamcatcher album and it's been difficult to top. Jazz Bar is also my favorite song, everything about it is just so mesmerizing. I never expected a K-rock/pop group to have a jazz song??? I fell in love with their voices, their style and most of all, the diversity/genre-bending. Also Tension used to be my alarm because the guitar intro goes hard, so if you feel tired when you wake up, I definitely recommend it. People say you start hating the music you set as an alarm but I still love Tension just as much as my first listen. Full Moon was a fan song released in 2018, so you were right!! Paradise was also like an extra track, which is why it's after the outro. It came out 2 weeks before the album released so maybe they thought this would be a nice gift and an oportunity for fans to listen to the single as well. Backstory time: Siyeon used be in a rock band when she was in school I believed and then she became an idol with some Dreamcatcher members as MINX, a super girly pinky group. She hated that time period, not necesarily bc of the concept but the hiatuses and everything that comes from not becoming successful at the time. I feel she wrote Paradise about running away from that dark time and finding her paradise in Dreamcatcher. The special clip may be simple but it's a vulnerable performance, which is all this song needs. You can feel her emotions with just seeing her. Thanks for the video. "Daybreak" is a top favorite song of mine. So when I see others enjoy it, I also have to gush about it. It's such a great song. It's also very underappreciated among fans. Personally i feel that Paradise isnt exactly the way you interpreted it. Obviously thats all subjective but my take is that shes telling you specifically in the end "stop running, im here and im never leaving we will get through these hardships together" i saw it this way due to the lyric change of "close your eyes" to "open your eyes" as in open them and see that im here for you. Over The Sky was also on this physical album which is their 2nd anniversary fan song, like Full Moon was their first - released 2018 and 2019 respectively. They weren't on any albums so that's why they included them on their first full. I would say they put Paradise at the end to give Siyeon her due as a soloist, as all the other tracks were group related.
I get your point on not running away and facing it straight forward, but Siyeon didn't have that much of a choice. Singing has always been her dream and when she trained for years and years and finally debuted in Minx (2014). But it wasn't what she had expected - the companys budget was low, very few album sales, she disliked the concept, etc. -. And when MINX disbanded, she took it the hardest, she talked about how she thought everything was over and she thought she had no more chances left. If i remember correctly she also mentioned how she would do things that helped her forget the pain and just tried to run away from everything. But on a happier note, she has mentioned many times that she is truly happy now -- with the girls, the concept and just life in general. "You don't have to be sad anymore" makes me cry everytime

This isnt shade to any of the other members but the most likely to proceed as solo artists post dreamcatcher I think would be Siyeon and Dami. These two have the biggest industry presence as musicians and vocal artists in the group with SuA and Handong being more involved in hosting radio shows and JiU and Yoohyeon getting pulled in general for things like photoshoots and general idol programs. They have the most amount of experience and have carved out a niche for themselves the industry and have the most noticeably different vibe and energy that would help them stand out in a sea of talented pop artists. Both Dami and Siyeon are gifted producers, composers and lyricists and I honestly wish they collab on another project because their pingpong cover and both shadow osts live in my head rent free. They are also the most passionate about music and seem to live for their music. Someone once called them the Chester-Shinoda duo of kpop and its so true. I highly recommend both the shadow osts and checking out their live performance of Silent Night from the Apocalypse Broken Halloween concert when you get to the Raid of Dreams album.

Have to say I prefer Apocalypse: Save Us simply because it feels more coherent, and has solos for each members which is hugely special, but thereâs no denying that ToL is an amazing piece of art. Leez and Ollounder are incredible composers and producers to be able to experiment so much and still nail whatever they try, and the same goes for the girls! The versatility of emotion they can display, not to mention their actual vocal techniques, are top class.

I hope you get to see them live this year. Theyâre concerts are crazy! Their live band doesnât travel w/ them overseas, but they still have hyped performances. Somnias know how to have a good time too.
This was my first Dreamcatcher album and it's been difficult to top. Jazz Bar is also my favorite song, everything about it is just so mesmerizing. I never expected a K-rock/pop group to have a jazz song??? I fell in love with their voices, their style and most of all, the diversity/genre-bending. Also Tension used to be my alarm because the guitar intro goes hard, so if you feel tired when you wake up, I definitely recommend it. People say you start hating the music you set as an alarm but I still love Tension just as much as my first listen.
Full Moon was a fan song released in 2018, so you were right!! Paradise was also like an extra track, which is why it's after the outro. It came out 2 weeks before the album released so maybe they thought this would be a nice gift and an oportunity for fans to listen to the single as well.
Backstory time: Siyeon used be in a rock band when she was in school I believed and then she became an idol with some Dreamcatcher members as MINX, a super girly pinky group. She hated that time period, not necesarily bc of the concept but the hiatuses and everything that comes from not becoming successful at the time. I feel she wrote Paradise about running away from that dark time and finding her paradise in Dreamcatcher. The special clip may be simple but it's a vulnerable performance, which is all this song needs. You can feel her emotions with just seeing her.
Dreamcatcher pretty much has a flawless discography and I don't doubt you'll find more tracks to gush over. Thank you for reacting to them, I love how much you enjoy and appreciate them!! i love your reaction The reason is that your reaction makes me feel the same as when I first encountered Dreamcatcher.
Their positive energy (Especially, you can see through various contents that each of her characters are very bright, not dark or depressed), the profound philosophy in the songs, the message with the power to fight against reality, and what I love them so much because the narrative from their difficult debut (including Minx) to the present is shown as it is.
In particular, my favorite song on this album is Siyeon's 'Paradise'. This song is a dream of a singer who never imagined becoming an idol singer (note that in Korea, it has changed a bit now, but idol singers are still not classified as artists, and are more like entertainers belonging to agencies and are slightly underestimated). This song expresses the hardships she had to go through after becoming an idol singer. But now, all 7 Dreamcatcher members, including her, are now making songs with their own convictions, themes, and colors, and Siyeon recently said, "There were times when they were unhappy, but now they have found their own paradise." Expressing it, Siyeon was happy. And these feelings are evident in her facial expressions and gestures, especially on her live stage (recommended to watch the video of Spain Primavera Sound).

Everything you just said is exactly why Dreamcatcher are my favourite musical "ARTISTS" of all time. Despite the whole edgy/dark concept that they do (not always) they are simply a complete contradiction with their personalities and when you realise how deep, inspiring and uplifting their songs are (if you actually sit down and read the lyrics). That's why Siyeon's 'Paradise' is at least top 3 or my number 1 Dreamcatcher song, and easily one of my favourite songs/arts that I have ever experienced just in general. Please continue to support Dreamcatcher because they are the hidden treasure that everyone needs to know about and hopefully one day every one and their grandmas will be talking about them and passing on their message for many generations to come. siyeon wrote and composed paradise. the piano version is likely her original version. their producers worked with her and added the extras to make it an edm song. if you know their background you might have a different interpretation of paradise. paradise is actually a place you create and a place you can hold on to when things in life take a wrong turn. so it's more a state of mind than a physical place, a place you can hold on to your dreams. her first tattoo on the back of her neck reads 'paradise is where I am' to show her state of mind, and perhaps also to express gratitude for being able to release her own song after a rock bottom period where she didn't know her future in music. dreamcatcher was initially pegged as 'failed idols' by some and in one interview siyeon was asked how she felt redebuting as dreamcatcher. she simply said 'being on stage in front of fans is a good thing, I have a strong desire to be on stage.'

Paradise, not only a Piano version, there's 2 other versions of the regular version special clips as well. Saw Paradise was on the 1theK channel. Be sure to source from official channels when you can (Dreamcatcher/Happyface/PonyCanyon). Often the 3rd party channels don't have subtitles and of course the officials boost their view counts.

Thanks for the video. "Daybreak" is a top favorite song of mine. So when I see others enjoy it, I also have to gush about it. It's such a great song. It's also very underappreciated among fans. Not a lot of fans include it in the favorite Dreamcatcher song. To have it be in your top 2 of such a great album, I just had to say something. I don't know if it's still a favorite of your since this comment is really late and you've probably listened to most of their discography. But I hope it still is! If not that's ok. Yea, the Piano version is the one I was going to recommend. It's just stripped down to a piano and her voice and it's perfect.
Personally i feel that Paradise isnt exactly the way you interpreted it. Obviously thats all subjective but my take is that shes telling you specifically in the end "stop running, im here and im never leaving we will get through these hardships together" i saw it this way due to the lyric change of "close your eyes" to "open your eyes" as in open them and see that im here for you. Youre not alone. Truly beautiful song.

I would say they put Paradise at the end to give Siyeon her due as a soloist, as all the other tracks were group related.

I get your point on not running away and facing it straight forward, but Siyeon didn't have that much of a choice. Singing has always been her dream and when she trained for years and years and finally debuted in Minx (2014). But it wasn't what she had expected - the companys budget was low, very few album sales, she disliked the concept, etc. -. And when MINX disbanded, she took it the hardest, she talked about how she thought everything was over and she thought she had no more chances left. If i remember correctly she also mentioned how she would do things that helped her forget the pain and just tried to run away from everything.
But on a happier note, she has mentioned many times that she is truly happy now -- with the girls, the concept and just life in general.

full moon and over the sky are their first and second anniversary fan songs, respectively. that's why you see handong in both songs. both were repackaged and put on the physical album, but I don't know why some online versions only include full moon. full moon imo is one of their best songs, with lyrics so magical their lightstick has it written on the handle. both also have special performance videos which you should check out at some points.

This isnt shade to any of the other members but the most likely to proceed as solo artists post dreamcatcher I think would be Siyeon and Dami. These two have the biggest industry presence as musicians and vocal artists in the group with SuA and Handong being more involved in hosting radio shows and JiU and Yoohyeon getting pulled in general for things like photoshoots and general idol programs. They have the most amount of experience and have carved out a niche for themselves the industry and have the most noticeably different vibe and energy that would help them stand out in a sea of talented pop artists. Both Dami and Siyeon are gifted producers, composers and lyricists and I honestly wish they collab on another project because their pingpong cover and both shadow osts live in my head rent free. They are also the most passionate about music and seem to live for their music. Someone once called them the Chester-Shinoda duo of kpop and its so true. I highly recommend both the shadow osts and checking out their live performance of Silent Night from the Apocalypse Broken Halloween concert when you get to the Raid of Dreams album.
This is just the tip of the iceberg in what Dreamcatcher has to offer. Just wait till you get to their older title tracks, B-sides, group covers, unit covers, individual covers, solo songs, collabs.. DC Stans are a very well fed fandom. Enjoy the ride!
