- After 5 hot days, a full moon and stormless nights, the crabs were teeming in Toms river. Our first time there, didn’t expect to catch a lot but wow! We were catching crabs non stop🦀. Didn’t get a chance to cook anymore for brunch. Beautiful place but you have to pay $10 dollars for crabbing. But it was worth it with a bushelfull of crabs. Enjoy the video🥰

Incoming tide ( high tide )is usually the best time, especially if it’s early morning as the sun is rising. Don’t start crabbing at 10:00 am under the glaring hot sun. The crabs hide in their holes. Another good time is when the tide goes out ( low tide ) especially on a cloudy day. Thanks for watching!🥰🦀

What month did you go to crabbing? I went today but a lot of them size are smaller than 4.5 inches.
We were there in the middle of July and it was non stop with big male crabs🦀. 2 weeks ago a friend of ours was there too and caught 20 keepers in 3 hours. Sometimes it’s a hit or miss and it’s good to have a plan B😊. Good luck!!!

Wow! You guys did great. Where do you pay down there to crab? Clamming Update: We only caught 12 clams at Island Beach State Park. It was fun, We were in the water for almost 4 hours. It's hard work raking in the sand, we're pretty sore today.
Island Beach is the only place u pay.crabbing is free everywhere u go.
Yes! The best for this season so far😊. Looks like you guys had a lot of exercise clamming. A borough employee goes around and asks for the $10 dollar fee. I guess you need a permit to crab, fish and do other activities in that area. But it was worth it with a bushelful of crabs🦀!

That may be the same dock I crabbed off of when I was 10 years old in '82

What's bag limit on crabs in NJ?
You are allowed to keep 1 bushel of crabs 🦀🦀 per day for recreational crabbing. That’s about a hundred crabs 🦀 more or less.😊

@@user-os3br5pw9y We’ve been there twice and both times we didn’t even catch a dozen crabs 🦀 but people there say there are times that crabbing is good there too. I think it depends on the tide, the time of the day, and the weather.😊

I am starting to hate you two in a very Loving way. Wherever you go, you get crabs... I get nothing! OMG! Hopefully, I will do as you and get some crabs...
We wish nothing but o a full bushel of crabs for you Mark😊😆. Try either early in the morning or late in the afternoon ( Dawn or Dusk). Never at noon time. There will be times when they prefer drop lines only and won’t get into the traps, so have a little bit of both. You will get your crabs sooner or later🦀🥰
