🙋♀️ had to stop getting bald fades cause of ingrown hairs at the back of my neck. cant use close shavers or razors on my cheeks. Some new barber used a close shaver on my cheeks and I had ingrown hairs there legitimately for months.

i told my co worker when he was cutting my hair before, not to use the shaver and he really believed just because he had the braun series 9 that it would make a difference. needless to say, i came to work the next day looking like a nestly crunch bar on the back of my head and neck

🙋🏽♂️ Ingrown hairs on my face and head. Horrible. I will say that by using the Wahl Foil Shaver on my head I don’t get them as much. As for my face, I grew a beard to alleviate the problem. That being said, I keep the cheek line high, and neck line low to reduce the amount of beard I have to line up and only “shave” my face with a T-Outliner.
That’s a perfect rule of thumb for the beard line up. As for the foil shaver, I cannot use it at all. The crazy part is that when I was in my early 20’s I didn’t break out as bad. After 25 it went downhill.

I’ve been watching your videos on and off, but you had me as a sub when you mentioned taking time to know when and with whom to break out the shaver.
Too many barbers in my area (NC) go for time and use cookie cutter methods instead of individual quality.
I’m talking about the non military barbers. In my opinion, non military barbers shouldn’t compete with the speed of military barbers, because they (non military) usually charge more, but the quality of the military cut is often on par, if not better, than a regular barbershop.
When I’m short on time or need a cut on Sunday, I’ll usually go to a military barbershop. Then and only then, I take and accept the cut they give me because I’m on their time and their job is to cut hair well, but fast. And you shouldn’t be too needy and make lots of requests, when their job is to get you in and out.
I love military barbers, because they’ve saved my life on a number of occasions when I was in a hurry.

That’s a fair point to share. I also have realized that not every client desires the most detailed cut. Newbie barbers get that confused. I know I did. Polo's Pole Google it. Not pleasant. The hair grows beneath the skin. Usually happens with curly or course hair. The bumps can be puss filled, sometimes gets infected. Not fun.
Imagine ur hair not being able to pass through ur skin and all of the sudden a bunch of bumps appear. Plus they itch, get irritated, and in most cases don’t go away until you pull the hair out.
