Hannah’s mother’s “craft box” reminds me of a shadow box I made after my parents passed…one each for me and my two siblings, and one for each grandchild. I used photos, jewelry, my dad’s pipes, newspaper clippings, etc. I don’t know how to attach it here but might send you a DM. Thanks for another fun episode! When I was small my mother always mended her stockings using a very fine latch-hook: which made it a lot quicker than using a crochet hook. Worth exploring? I used to help her - because my eyesight was very good at that time! :)
Oh Billie I loved this! Hannah is lovely! The retro styled pictures are such a fabulous thing! I loved her twin sets. I wear twin sets a lot in the winter (not knit by me YET) and that would be a huge goal, to be able to knit my own vintage twin set one day. I have a lot of summer knitting projects going on now, garments I am knitting as gifts, but I have decided at some point in the late autumn/winter I will take the plunge and knit my first vintage sweater. I wonder if Hannah mentioned what pattern were the lace tops she knitted in different colors? Maybe I missed that? all the best Billie, love your vest! oh, and I am going to try out those dress shields, I had tried some pads you stick onto the sweater in the past but they were a fail, I wanted to preserve by precious cashmere knits...
