- Fishing on the drop is for catching fish in the water column, between the surface and the lake bed. The idea is to cause the hook bait to sink slowly down through the water in a natural way. Roach and Rudd tend to be the target species. Not only because they are mid water fish, but they will often continue to feed on hot days, cold days and in clear water.

Great graphics as usual and no pointless, distracting "music"-Thankyou.
The narration and illustration on your videos is so well done. You explain the processes and rationale very clearly. Thank you for your efforts.
My pleasure, thank you for your comment.
A small pond I fish has loads of rudd, I have tried various depths and baits, with mixed success! this info is much appreciated! a slow falling bit of bread punch and a pole float on my float rod/reel set up works great. many thanks for your tips and knowledge sharing Richard.
You are very welcome, best of luck.
Another bloody brilliant tutorial, thanks matey
You are very welcome. best of luck.
That was the best explained vid I've ever watched to be honest that's the best vid you've done sir. Can't wait for next one. Ps I'm guilty of having no shot on line so it shows you never stop learning and it's my 46th year of fishing from age of 7.
Thanks very much.
Great film, full of useful information
excellent video. i actually fished this method yesterday ( fri 17th march) on my local fishery. had some stunning roach and skimmers. used a loaded crystal waggler with one no8 shot 10 inches from the hook with a small cube of meat on a 16 hook. its a classic but very effective method and. its not always about catchin big carp as i think small is also just as beautiful.
It's good to know you enjoy this method too. Luncheon meat is an excellent bait, the fat in the meat helps it to sink slowly. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Great videos - covering the reason why you should use certain setups and do things etc, not just that you should. More please :)
Again a very nice video! Great tips. Thanks.
Brilliant video, really going to help my fishing. thanks
I enjoyed this. Thanks, very very helpful
Nice and informative
Thank you 🇬🇧
Nice video ✌️️
very good 👍
Nice vid
You find such beautiful places to fish. Would be a pleasure being there even if the fish don't cooperate! ;-)
good information video how catch roach and rudd.
very helpful vblog :-)
Great video! can anyone tell me where this is located? Or where I can catch rudd fish?
A quick question ... have you ever considered replacing your bare hook with a wet fly? Here in the U.S. a small "fuzzy" fly and bait combination seems to attract more fish than either used alone.
That is a very interesting, I will give it a go, thank you.
Nice video what's the reel 👍👍❔❔
It is a Shakespeare Mach 3 reel.
