If the extraterrestrials haven't taken away your technology yet, consider joining us on this journey through the original Twilight Zone series. We're asking questions and learning about life all from the fifth dimension. There's always room for more.

This might be your best episode breakdown/analysis I've seen. I'm probably biased because this is my favorite TZ episode that has remained (maybe even more so) relevant today.
In regards to Steve, I don't view him as a failed Just Man. I view as a man trying to be just, but is ultimately worn down by the tide of the mob. Even the best of us are still human and capable of succumbing to greater forces. I'll definitely check that Outer Limits episode soon.

This is an amazingly relevant episode for today. Appreciate the kind words.

I was looking forward to this episode analysis and boy were my expectations exceeded, great job! I love what you're doing for us, fans of the Twilight Zone by providing thematic angles in which we could further appreciate the show beyond its own narrative-also, speaking of angles. I need to mention how much I enjoy seeing your side view accompanied by the show's title screen in the background throughout the analysis, it's a nice aesthetic touch to your format.

The 2000 remake had a slightly different ending, where the government were testing how society reacts to terrorism, rather than the aliens causing chaos. Basically both are reacting to an issue of their time and circumstances.

If you have a chance to respond, I would love to know if you enjoyed the 2000s remake. I'm actually quite torn on it. I think the change to government is totally fine, but there's something about it that just feels very forced. I actually like a couple of the actors in it as well, but the chemistry just seemed odd. Like I said, if you have a chance, I would love to know your opinion on it.

I was about to mention that episode. I liked that the aliens were replaced which made it a bit more realistic/relatable (not sure if that's the right word to describe it).

@@thekeyofimagination Yeah, overall I like the original more - can't say if it's the acting though. 🤔

Thanks for the book recommendation. I’ve got it on Audible, now.
One of my moments of awe is how Commodore Perry was able to parody Walt Kelly 100 years before Kelly was born. That’s some real Twilight Zone time traveling stuff there.
My other moment of awe was how well this episode portrayed how easily people can start to believe really unsound things.

No problem. I liked the "Fighting a War, Combatting a Myth" chapter.

@@thekeyofimagination Sounds interesting. Like maybe it’ll help me with my theory that the whole thing about Tommy and the stories and the murkily defined “they” that didn’t want them doing things was a sly jab at religion taken by Rod Serling.

Can you please do an analysis on season 3's "Death's Head Revisited" next? Love the content!

Thanks for taking the time to leave the kind words and motivation. I'll get there eventually. That's such a haunting episode--it's incredibly powerful.
