This song was played at my brother's funeral during a slideshow, we made dedicated to moments in his life. I can't hear it without weeping. And I can't begin to explain my bond with my wonderful and special brother Jakey... All I can say is, I wouldn't be who I am today without his great lessons in empathy, compassion, loyalty, and will power.
You did a remarkable remake :) When someone touches you, it never leaves you; you take that with you for the rest of your life.
Thank you for the tears, and I mean the good ones. Because that's more or less what my tears are; accepted ones that remind me of a beautiful soul I got to have in my life for 25 years. I didn't get to meet my dad until I was 17; I'm 26 now. When I was in middle school, I was interviewed on our local news station, and my dad had happened to see the broadcast. He told me that was when he realized he had a better chance of seeing his kid randomly on T.V than in real life. He quit drinking, and I have an awesome relationship with him and his other kids (we're really close now, actually). And in about a month, he's walking me down the aisle, which is something I never, in a million years would have guessed, and I will get my first ever picture with both of my parents in it with me. this song makes me think of our struggle.
