The comment about watching the changes of light effects as the plants grow reminded me of the truism that, " gardening is the slowest of the performing arts."! Thank you for allowing us to see another wonderful and serene garden.

      That's a nice word!
A garden isn't complete when the construction is finished.
It becomes a good garden as the gardener manages it well over the years.

It blows my mind how it looks like a pile of rocks and plants then turns into a beautiful masterpiece! The lantern is fabulous! The moss beautifully softens the hard edges of the rocks. From inside the house it looks like a framed piece of art. Absolutely beautiful! God bless

You're so right! The balance of the stone and moss was really beautiful.

So amazing that once you put in moss, the landscape transforms! The natural rocks and the square stones become together. Indeed, very cool! Inspirational!

      Yes, it is!
As Mr. Sano said, "Even in nature, there are stones that are straight." He seemed to be expressing this.

A lovely garden. I so enjoy seeing small spaces transformed into refuges for the mind and heart. Your videos are like that, bringing us away from our cares and worries.
I also find your videos particularly educational as I live next to one of the friendship gardens here in the states. The Portland Japanese Gardens are beautiful and your videos help me understand it better and better. The garden here was designed by Takuma Tono of Tokyo Agricultural University in the late fifties and early sixties on the site that used to be our city zoo. It opened in 1967 and while it was protested at the time it has long been one of the most precious and beloved places in our city. I bring this up because I feel like your work and the work of the Portland Japanese Gardens overlaps in places. I am so grateful to be able to benefit from both. Thank you.

The Japanese Garden at Washington Park is one of the finest in the world. I’ve seen a couple of videos about it’s construction…what a monumental task.

@@therealhellkitty5388 you are absolutely correct. They took a space that had been an old zoo, filled with concrete, with towering trees overhead, and managed to turn it into an oasis of peace. I am so grateful to live nearby and be able to visit it often.

Do you use peat moss to plant the moss?
If it is not impolite: can you say me what it cost to make such makeover? What was the price vor the plants including the moss?
