Outstanding tutorial! You're the best boardgame teacher here in CZcams 🥰
I hope that GMT keep sponsoring this kind of videos for their awesome games
So glad you enjoyed - I hope so too :)
Fantastic explanation. The video quality and the clarity in the rules explanations have been nothing short of fantastic. It's really possible to play the games without reading the rules. Thank you.
So glad you liked this Fernando - I'm enjoying a game of 1960 as we speak!
Just brought it, shipping to the UK aint cheap but it looks SO WORTH IT
I hope you have a great time with it (I'm playing it remotely with a friend, right now!)
Awesome explanation - succinct and logical, plus humorous as well - great work Rodney!
Thank you kindly David!
Bought it used and played our first game last night. Loved it. Thanks for getting us started!
So glad you enjoyed. I just played it a couple days ago too :)
Rewatching for that boost!
Thank you kindly Kitanne, really appreciated!
I love this game. You killed this tutorial. I use this as a reference when we play, it's divided beautifully.
Very nice to know this was helpful!
I have been waiting for a good how to play on this game for such a long time thank you so much watch it played
You're very welcome Thomas - glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for checking GMT and wargames!
Excited to be able to feature it!
@@WatchItPlayed cool. How about Churchill?
@@dr3putt62 Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: czcams.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/video.html&t=342
@@WatchItPlayed thanks again... saw that link further down.....🤪
Just picked a used Zman version of this game. Looking at the rule book it looks so complicated, but after watching this video run through cannot wait to play the game. Thanks for a great tutorial 👍
I hope you have a wonderful time playing Paul!
Already seen it, so I will see it again updated, to maintain my view ;)
Thank you kindly Lazaro, really appreciated!
GMT has 5 games in their catalogue that I just adore:
1. Labyrinth: The War on Terror (with expansions)
2. Twilight Struggle
3. 1960: The Making of the President
4. Dominant Species
5. 1846: The Race for the Midwest
Those are 5 masterpieces, I could play them all the time, anytime :D. 1960 is brilliant. And this was a PERFECT explanation for the game.
I haven't played all of those, but some excellent picks based on what I've played (or heard about).
Rewatching again! Hope to see twilight struggle next!
Thanks for returning to watch again - thank you thank you!
The momentum markers remind me of all the pleasant "discussions" Rodney and Chaz had about Momen-Ten -- I gotta watch that series again. That was the best.
Ha! I need a variant re-theme of THAT :)
6:05 I love how the “suitable replacement” is a coin with Kennedy’s image on it! A very suitable replacement given the subject matter of this game, clever! 😉
Nice catch :)
This game is neck and neck with Twilight Struggle! Great tutorial. I learned something even after playing it 4 times! Thanks R!
Very glad it helped - and glad you're enjoying this game!
This is a game I use to introduce players to Twilight Struggle. It's a little bit easier than TS, and gets people to understand the mechanics and strategy.
Thanks for great tutorial vid! You made my day
I hope you have a great time playing!
I know the video for this game is old but you should totally do a playthrough of this game! It's the season for elections 😂
It's a great title, and would be a good one for a play through, to be sure!
Excellent as usual!
Great comment, as usual :)
As always, great job
So glad you liked it - have a great time playing!
Amazing video as ever. Thanks
Thank you Nicky!
Hoping you do Twilight Struggle as well - love that game but hate teaching it!
Thanks for the interest!
Great tutorial, as always
Thanks Yannick!
Thank you from Italy!!
You're welcome back! From Canada!
Great video!
Thank you Henri!
Looking forward to an opportunity to play this one (now that I know how)!
I hope you get one!
So awesome! Half my games wouldn't get played if it wasn't for Rodney.
Very happy to be a part of your gaming fun!
One of my all time favourite games. Great job.
Thanks James!
Will never play it but fun to watch the tutorial!
Thanks for checking it out Luke!
Good stuff!
Thank you LH!
Heck yeah! Can we expect a video for Twilight Struggle?
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: czcams.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/video.html&t=342
@@WatchItPlayed ah, got it! Thanks for the reply
@@WatchItPlayed thanks for this!
When Twilight Struggle meets Campaign Trail 🌎🗳️
Certainly some crossover ideas there!
Thanks for another great tutorial! My wallet is a little lighter thanks to you! XD
I hope you have a wonderful time playing!
Make a video on Twilight Struggle!
I’m here because of your Twitter PSA! Go Watch It Played! Would love to see a video of Oath: Empire and Exile when it drops :)
Thanks for coming over to the video - very appreciated!
Really thanks
You bet!
After resolving endorsement cards, do we put them into their discard pile or reshuffle them back into their deck? Thank you in advance
Hi Luke, they are discarded.
Just got this and should get a game in hopefully tomorrow. I find it strange that I now own 2 board games centered around Richard Nixon and 3 around US elections.
Hope you enjoy!
Do you find it easier, harder or the same to make videos on games with GMT style rulebooks? I find them more difficult to learn and teach from because the order rules appear in the rulebook is not often where those rules begin to make sense.
It depends on the title - this one, for example, is written more in the board game format we are used to seeing outside of war game rule books.
I almost get a heart attack evertime I watch that box flip at the beginning of your videos.
But then I catch it, and everything's okay! I won't let you down Dirk :)
@@WatchItPlayed Wrong move...LET HIM DOWN
@@WatchItPlayed what if you drop it and dent the box really bad before you film a successful catch?
@@DullDishwater Are you suggesting I don't catch it the first time, every time?! *gasp*
@@WatchItPlayed I mean, I’ve seen the outtakes (or the lack thereof), and you’re pretty amazing, but nothing is 100%...not even the great Rodney Smith.
Can you please do a how to play for zombicide 2nd edition 🙏
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: czcams.com/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/video.html&t=342
I noticed a few deviations from the original first edition rules. The biggest one is that the ‘Issue Shift’ precedes the ‘Momentum awards’. I feel it gives too much value to the media support. If anyone played it both ways how does it change the balance?
I never played the original, but if I had to guess, they used the game play and years of outcomes from the first edition to influence any changes for this edition.
I think it makes media support more important and for good reasons. In the original is a bit of a waste to invest in media unless you are trying to defend a majority in crucial states. Another change is that cubes in media boxes give you double the amount of political capital during the election.
I'll just leave my humble comment here to attract the yt algorithm :)
Thank you kindly!
By the end of the game, floor is covered by tossed cards.
At least when I play :)
By the way, how long does the average game last?
I really don't have a sense of that - it's so player dependent. Some people play fast, some people play slow.
@@WatchItPlayed
Thanks! Keep up the good work!
if I had a nickel for every game based on Nixon's public life I would have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
We'll get you to 15 cents eventually!
Discarding cards out of the game. The Legacy way 😄
Indeed :)
Is this reprinted? 🤯 if so I might get it
I'm not sure at what point in reprinting it is, but the version I'm showing here is quite widely available right now.
Game is available on GMT website.
@@WatchItPlayed thanks for the info!
Rewatched for enjoyment. Already too much american politics in my life!
Thank you for revisiting!
Not to be that guy, but it’s pronounced momenten.
CHAZ!!!!!!
