I lived in the Santa Cruz mtns for 30yrs. You can't get lost for one day here. There are roads and paths everywhere. The area was heavily burned 2 yrs ago. Waddell ck goes from Big Basin to the ocean. It's about 5 mi to the ocean. Last Chance Rd intersects Waddell and there were 200 illegal homes there, now maybe 40 have returned. There are creeks north of Waddell ck that also go to the ocean. So this story is BS

@@ninnychagnot saying this story is fake or true, BUT there are numerous accounts of fake stories ranging from fake kidnappings, to a fake hot air balloon story where a kid was left on a hot air balloon and miraculously survived. I think both of those stories came out of California. People just want to be famous regardless. Anyways, hope this story isn’t fake and I’m glad the guy is ok.

So are they going to make him PAY the 10's of thousands of dollars spent to find him???? What a dumbazz to go hiking unprepared not even carrying an adequate amount of water on a normal hike!!!!

Missing for 10 days. (Just 3 hours from the coast)
This man or his family are lying, or he is mentally unwell and cannot venture unsupervised. The area he was lost has roads through it within 5mi of each other. He left for a “three-hour” hike - why did he bring a flashlight? It would have been impossible for him to trek in any direction without finding a road OR TRAIL in the popular park system within which he was found. He’s legally blind and brought a flashlight… 9-10 days just drinking water and eating berries and he’s walking just fine? NOT BELIEVABLE!

Starving to death? Did he see how much greenery there was? He could have survived on ferns alone. I've been in California canyons. They're pretty nice.
Follow up commentary... If he had access to water, why the hell didn't he think to wash his face? He looked like he was lost ten years, not days. That's a vacation. I'm glad he is okay, but this is the opposite of a survival story. My guess is he was never a boy scout. Or read a book on edible plants. Had he been trapped and sailed through with flying colors, THAT would be a survival story. His was dumb luck.
