Really does sound great. You're a fantastic guitar player, it's surprising that you don't have thousand of subs. I just tuned in but I'm enjoying your vids bud. Cheers!
Great video. Just throwing this out, the sustain is probably also affected by the roller bridge and nut. They make less stable contact with the body/neck. But yes, the tape is probably the biggest culprit. I haven’t watched any of the original video. It would be interesting to see how each individual component changes sustain. For example, change the trem, play for a bit, then change the bridge, play for a bit, then the nut. Just a some thoughts.
those guyker stainless guitar nut is the best! you can adjust the height of it. I will put some of this Guyker locking tuners and adjustable nut in my Epiphone sg. Cool review! Ty
I recently did pretty much the same things (all but the roller nut) on a much cheaper guitar (a Donner DLP 124S). What I found was that the winding of the ball on the higher strings (E-1 to G-3) tends to unravel, especially the E-1. The symptoms were a constant drop in pitch, the inability to obtain the correct pitch leading to the ball suddenly flying off the tail piece. I didn't have any issues with the string actually breaking, though it might look like it did at a casual glance. After researching online, I found the fix is to solder the wind that holds the ball. Since soldering I haven't had any issues with it holding pitch or failing. PRS makes strings with a soldered ball, though kind of pricey. I also put on Guyker 1/21 locking tuners and a roller bridge, plus the Guyker micro-tuner tail (TP-6 clone). I can now switch from the Guyker tremolo to the micro-tuner tailpiece just by loosening the strings and exchanging the 2 screws that hold the tailpiece (since they both load the strings from the top).
@@BigJakeMusic Thanks Jake. I setup a made in Indonesia Epiphone LP Special II for a friend a few years ago and was BLOWN AWAY by how nicely it intonated, and how low I could get the action. Ever since I have wanted to get one too,. Seeing your good luck with your Studio has now motivated me to spend the extra $70 for a Studio.... I'll let you know when I get it. Thanks again for all your videos.
Please keep my posted on that! I appreciate it and I’m glad you’ve found my videos helpful. Let me know if you have any questions! Side note-the action on this LP is lower than I’ve been able to get on any of my other Epiphone/Gibson guitars! Somehow the studio with 10s is easier to play than my SG with 9s!
I picked up a Raven RG 60 for $30 and in mint condition, it's loud and i thought it has amazing sounding gain channel even compared to a couple of my other amps...
that looks so much better and yeah sounds great to! cool video!
Appreciate it! It is a lot better and I’m very satisfied with it.

Thank you so much, that means alot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate you!

Some very good points. I’ve found that this combination I ended up with is great for my Les Paul and I’m super happy with it!

I love the nut!! It is totally adjustable. Just be careful about it falling off when you change strings 😂
Nice tone! You have that nice twangy driven strat SRV tone!

I would of gone one step more and added a DP String Butler for more tuning stability, specially for bending!
Thanks Jake, great video. I am thinking about buying an Epiphone LP Studio.
You should do it! This is my favorite guitar and I own over 20. This one is the real deal!

I watched the Whole video listened but I'm looking in your guitar rack trying to see the HM Strategy you are hiding lol
Hey, soon ;)
does that Epiphone les Paul studio have stock Pickups.
Yes it does! It comes stock with these and they are both splittable out of the box! These are some of the best stock pickups I’ve ever had.
You aren't going to get an octave down or up with one of these. Not even the Deusenberg. You can drop to a c with Deusenberg.
