  • We rode five chicken buses in one day! Chicken bus travel through Guatemala is definitely cheap, but is it safe? And how easy is it? In between buses we answered your questions. Because, let’s face it, we needed a break from those bumpy roads!
Join us riding the chicken bus in Guatemala to Antigua from Lake Atitlan. Whether you love or hate chicken buses, the journey was certainly an adventure…

This is on my bucket list, ride the chicken bus. By the way , these buses are not donated. They’re bought at auctions in USA, driven back to Guatemala, and modified to drive the hard roads of Guatemala .😃

Amazing that they drive them all that way! But I guess they they need to get them there somehow.

@@izzieanddale they are a usual sight on Mexican roads traveling in groups. They are bought at auctions in the US, driven down to Guatemala still in its yellow colour and then transformed down there.

Sometimes people buy them at an auction in the US and then drive them down to Guatemala, fix them up and sell them to a bus company, who then do more fixing up and custromization

Wow...im Guatemalan.. I wouldn't ride those busses, they're very dangerous, you're putting your life at very high risk. They are hold up a gun point every other day. Just one ride 'woulda' be enough.

Go for a few chicken sodas!
    Have fun, be safe.
