The Neverland arc was the best OUAT arc in the whole show, and this was the best episode of OUAT every. Period. Rumple's redemption arc was concluded, Regina's redemption arc was concluded, Bae and Rumple made peace, Emma reconciled with her parents, and literally every other arc for the characters reached a satisfying conclusion

I mean the whole first season is the best but after that I agree. Some of the other arcs could have been great but just weren't

it killed me how you could see David holding back tears but he wouldn't let him fall. I just want him to walk up to Emma and for just the two of them to hug and for him to kiss her forehead. Also for her to say "bye dad"

It doesn't matter how many times I watch this, or how often I tell myself that everybody comes back, and there's more to the story, I still bawl like a baby during this scene. 😭

Same, this is one of those moments. Except I started bawling my eyes out in the middle of the night owl queue while I was wearing headphones. Someone actually nudged me and asked if I was listening to Whitney Houston. But seriously though, this scene has the strength of ten thousand onions.

This scene, and when Rumple Killed Pan killed me. The scene where Rumple died, I Belle's reaction killed me. And then watching the Snowing/Emma/Henry Good Bye, and Neal saying good bye to Emma and Henry I could not handle it. And then the way Neal had his arm around Henry the whole time.

    "You're not a villain, you're my Mom."
At first, I thought this was really sweet of Henry to say. Even though Regina was a pretty terrible person, she still Henry's mom. But after thinking about it, idk, it kinda feels like Henry's giving her a pass for all that she did, just ignoring it.
I think a better line would've been "You may be a villain, but you're also my Mom and you always will be." It's kind of like being an addict, even if you've changed, you'll always be an addict. Regina is a redeemed villain, not currently one, but she'll always be one because she'll always have to carry the weight of all of the terrible things she did.
I used to be a Regina fan, I *hated* the way Henry and everybody else treated her. Also how Adoption worked in the show, it would've been nice to see Emma adopted after a couple of years of being in the foster care system. It would've been interesting to see Emma with a nice and loving family, then see Henry's life with Regina as a way to show that just because people *can* adopt, doesn't mean that they *should*. I'm sure that Henry had a nice relationship with Regina for at least a couple of years, but from what we've seen, Henry came to Emma and he wouldn't have done it on his own if he felt like he couldn't have talked to Regina about it. He begged Emma to stay in Storybrooke, he was clearly miserable. Regina raised him, so on one hand that does make her Henry's mom. On the other hand, no parent would *intentionally* make their child feel nuts for believing in fairy tales and make it feel like it's a bad thing to want to get to know his birth mom! I've been part of the 'Regina vs Emma' mom debate, but what it comes down to is what Henry wants. If he wants Emma to be his one and only Mom, then she's his mom. Same with Regina. And if he wants them both in his life and loves them both equally, then they're both his moms.
Boy, I did not mean for this to be a rant. Oh well.😅

Your analysis was astute. But I think it’s also important to remember he was a child, and children make excuses for the shortfalls of their parents all the time. Henry is no exception. He was also emotionally intelligent beyond his years, so I think he felt a lot of empathy for her.

Years? I-it hasnt been years since Emma came to StoryBrook right? God thats one thing that always makes no sense in this show. The passage of bloodytime! Still a pretty entertaining show and I love it no matter what.

Season 7’s timeline is even more confusing the only thing I got was the curse there sent them back in time but the likes of Robin being 18 after a few months and Emma being pregnant and all it made no sense

I mean, never mind Neal's apartment in NYC that seems to just be vacant forever.
It's also crazy that they cross the town line, forget everything and have new memories... cool, but that doesn't give them a place to stay or a job.

I wish this would have been their happy ending. Emma & Henry have suffered so much they deserve to be happy together forever and clearly as much as we want to say Henry loves both mums equally, up until that point he's much closer to Emma. We can't deny their bond is stronger throughout the series especially the first few seasons. He lived with her & the Charmings from the end of S1 to this point. You can see how much happier he is compared to when he lived with Regina. He's not crying here at the thought of parting with Regina forever. It shows he could accept better. Yet he couldn't cope with the thought of Emma leaving Storybrooke that he ate the turnover knowing his impending death. Emma has always been an amazing mum right from the start and it's crazy for people to say she's entitled or swooping Henry in. Regina might raise him for 10 years but she didn't know how to love him. Obsession to own someone completely & being possessive isn't love
In real world Regina would be locked up for good for all the things she did. Murder, attempted murder of Henry (regardless intentional/unintentional, gaslighting him, raping Graham, blackmailing Archie and the list goes on. The adoption wasn't even legal as Gold made it happen so if anything, Emma had all the rights to take him. She gave him up as she was being selfless. What could you expect from her being 18, alone, no relatives and in jail? She wanted to give his best chances and he understood this that's why from the beginning Henry made it clear he was never angry at her for giving him up. If anything right from Henry was reunited with Emma, she's always put him first. She could've taken Henry away but she didn't want that because she knew Regina still means a lot for Henry and they both want to see the good in her

The show could’ve ended here. It was only downhill from this point. Or they could’ve done season 3b with the season 6 final battle arc and finished the show well. Very disappointing.

Seems like they were implying that Emma was the only one who could get away because she was the Saviour of Storybrooke. Henry was immune to the curse's backlash because he wasn't from the Enchanted Forest in the first place. Baelfire had neither of those exceptions applying to him.
