- it's time for jiyoon's weekly check-in! this week's episode was ridiculous, honestly, and the most nasty single episode of any show i've covered so far (well kinda).
Some highlights (or lowlights?) this week: the seesaw challenge has the girls covering blackpink whistle, twice like ooh ahh, red velvet bad boy and izone panorama! Drama has the judges being overly critical, a possible evil edit, a sobbing mess edit, a vocalist lying, duos being broken up, bad flop rehearsals, just general meanness & pretty much only judging some girls based on looks alone. Ok! Also HEY BOY

honestly… the judges really haven’t been THAT bad so far. when the panorama team was doing their midpoint evaluation & couldn’t hit the notes i was fully preparing for the judges to scream at them then expect them to be able to sing an entire key higher by the end of the week yet to my surprise… they completely understood, didn’t get mad at all and lowered the key to fit the girls vocal range better. it should be the bare minimum but it’s not so it was nice to see mentors actually being realistic with the girls & actually trying to help them
you're definitely right, i do think they are being 100% realistic...they're actually probably being nice compared to what i'm assuming goes on behind the scenes (***cough***yg calling his idols straight up ugly*****). i prefer the mentoring comments vs the live performance judging. they're so much better in mentor mode lmaoooo but the girls do need to be hit with the reality of the industry. better to get it over & done with now so they can get used to it or learn how to handle it

I agree! People are frustrating voting for visuals only, but what's even more frustrating is the show making them participate first... Girls with less than a year of training shouldn't join at all.
And both of them have very strong fan base

Tell them to choose a partner and be all besties with each other but don't tell them you will be competing against each other until later. So cruel.

I think for panorama the main vocalist part should have been given to two people. They are going to push this girl until she makes a mistake and just start critizing her.
Most of their comments are just how pretty the girls are. Ok ok I get it everyone there is pretty and cute. Stage presence and making gestures is a talent but not visuals.
Them telling that one girl that she is short. Sorry but if I am 1,55m and am standing next to someone who is 1,70m I will look short no matter what I do.

She is Indeed a main vocal material but we're talking about panorama ??? Not whistle. Mnet really should clean their fucking ears and eyes it's exhausting

If you don't get the hype then watch the whole episode. She did well in her performances. Except this one. With the first and up the to the middle she hit the high notes well but in the last one it was not good. So it's kinda mid.

@@parkvalerie8197 Exactly! Monika and 24 literally called out how being pretty and going viral online does not translate when some of these girls come on survival shows. Monika straight up told Yeeun (I think that’s her name) that she’s pretty but that’s it and asked her why she decided to join this show if her skills are lacking. It may have been harsh but it’s want she needed to hear and she did improve in her next stage. So idk why people criticize the judges, I actually think they’re doing a great job seeing how many groups are getting criticized for just being pretty or good dancers but lacking singing skills.
@@myathegrandma Monika and Leejung are literally just the female versions of the Iland 1 judges. They should thank the judges instead for calling out what they're lacking at that made her improve herself for the next performance.

as others have said, panorama was a set up. Its super high and you need multiple strong vocalists. The production team was like fk that group that gets that one.

No need to sugarcoat it...its a high time we have realized that how this sympathy bs has ruined overall ecosystem and priority of talent since third gen. Idols can't even hold a 2 min songs ... expressionless, lazy dancing etc etc. if you are auditioning for show like this you need to be prepared.... Don't expect the pity party. So many girls are talent but fans voting for lingling, Yeeun etc are the reason talented ppl aren't debuting. Fuko, jeemin, jeongeun, salang, gyuri and many more are soooo talent and should definitely debut. Y'all probably didn't even watch the I of I-land 1 and it shows lol, can't handle constructive criticism and them complain about the idols not improving. Tht's mostly the issue with most of the female survival shows these days which just makes it very boring too watch and low on quality, u can already pick the debut line just by looking at their visuals and R U next is a perfect example of this disastrous stereotype and now the girl's are getting hate for their performance because they weren't even ready to debut and didn't even got proper training and made them debut just for their "ripe age" yikes... The jiyoon girl is main vocalist yes? I see drama performance and she was clearly the best vocalist, she wasn't nasal while the rest were pitchy and nasal. Especially that girl with bangs, she sounded like a muffled cat.
