i remember when this episode came out. i was such a cool moment for me. i was in 5th grade when this ep first aired, and i remember after it did, me and my friends at school SQUEALED about twilight getting wings. and if you told 5th grade me that twilight would eventually replace tia and luna i would not have believed you one bit. i'm an adult now, been out of high school for almost a year now, and this show still holds such a special place in my heart. i love getting nostalgic for seasons/episodes like these, it's such a nice warm feeling.

But this song is her way of speaking to me. She always loved my little pony alongside me and taught me valuable lessons about life, like how Celestia taught Twilight. My mom will always teach me even if shes gone. She is protecting me and I know that. She is my guardian angel.

I'm still not a fan of Twilight becoming an alicorn at the end of Season 3 - I knew it was going to happen eventually but I feel it happened a bit too early in the show's run. It's not a "I will literally vomit blood out of sheer rage" dislike just a mild one, but this song is amazing.
i completely agree, i wish we saw more of twilight as a unicorn, they maybe should've waited until season 4 or 5, season 3 just feels like way too soon especially considering that its such a short season already

the reason why she became an alicorn then, is because the show was supposed to end in the third season. her becoming an alicorn princess was the show's original finale. however, only after season 3 came out, hasbro greenlit season 4, and the writers had to come up with how to make up for this, and i think they did a great job imo
