  • In this video I'm talking about why and how I'm planning to travel from Portland to Seattle for my second mastectomy. There were only two reasons to hesitate to make this trip--comfort and money. I've overcome both of these in favor of assurance that I'm going to get the aesthetic flat closure that I've been seeking all along. I mentioned my Instagram account which is @a.breast.cancer.diary there.

The flat group on facebook where I found the story of the woman who had used my surgeons is called "Fierce Flat Forward" and you have to be considering a flat closure or Goldilocks procedure to join this group.
The oncologist that I spent a lot of money to see in Ashland is Dr. Dawn Lemanne at Oregon Integrative Oncology. She has a new podcast now that I highly recommend called "Docs Talk Shop".
My doctors are Dr. Crown and Dr. Um at the Swedish Hospital/First Hill Campus in Seattle. I'm not the only one who showed up on their doorstep after that fateful facebook photo. Dr. Crown says she's seen MANY women who were impressed and made an appointment after seeing it!
