Being a fan of Drizzy since 09 i realised quick that people don’t like him cause he’s not “street certified” enough, people like their rappers to be relatable, and rap contains a lot of hood listeners. Drake came into the game showcasing another side masculinity contrary to what was out there, rapping about women, heartbreak, love etc, things considered “corny” & “soft”. I guarantee you if he grew up in a hood he would be cemented as the greatest of all time today.

People don’t like Drake cause he lacks authenticity, compare how he came into the game (the good guy) to how he is now (free smoke / mob ties) all based on people around him. Now all the real ninjas around him have had enough. You don’t F your boys’ BMs and send cease & desist.
If Drizzy was just himself folks wouldn’t dislike him as much . He would be looked at as one of the greatest.

Goodness gracious the audacity of Gracious Kay comparing Drake to Tupac is outrageous 🤣...plus lets get it correct. Tupac wasn't egged on to make Hit Em Up. Remember in 1994 there was an attempt on his life at Quad Studios. He strongly believed Diddy was involved and knew Biggie knew something. He survived enough to discharge himself to heal up at Jasmine Guy's house and attend his court appearance for his trial vs Ayanna Jackson. The other guys involved especially Haitian Jack had a separate case which Tupac went on camera and spoke about. This was before the quad studio incident. Now Haitian Jack doesn't go jail but only Tupac. It was in prison for nearly 11 months. During that time Diddy released Who Shot Ya by Biggie. Tupac saw that as a diss. When Tupac was released from jail out on bail. He did a song with Faith Evans literally and figuratively. Then months later he released Hit Em Up. This was the second version the original is more venomous and he has an interview with Angie Martinez where he is calling out literally everybody. Also Tupac always directly responded to people he had a problem with on a song. He was never the type to do indirects.
I want to say more but yeah it's outrageous to compare culture vulture Drake to Tupac

Marv brought up the main thing that I've been questioning about Ross going at Drizzy. How must Meek be looking at this move and rationale given Ross didnt hold him down during his war with Drake?

There’s a lot to be said for people’s hatred for him tbh.. Drake is not the stereotypical rapper in any way shape or form. Hip hop started in the streets and it will always have that element. Even Drake himself talks greaze cos the genre is deep rooted in machismo and being tough. It goes hand in hand with where these people come from. Drake hasn’t come from that but has soared to the top of music. Not just rap/hip hop. But his musical content has led many to call him a player hater- he’s the guy who tells a woman that another man isn’t treating her well and lavishes her with gifts etc. Men don’t appreciate that. He also appropriates cultures for his own gain. He appears best friends with an artist only for them never to be seen together again. The Michael Jacksons of the world never needed any collabs for world wide success. They barely have any collabs. They didn’t follow a formula for success and take advantage of streaming and tiktok lol there are many reasons Drake gets hate but..

Drake doesn't charge for all features that is correct, but what he will do is release the song under OVO sounds. this means he has rights to the song that's been released. Can actually work out more then his feature fee in the long run and help the unknown artist as they don't have to spend money upfront on a huge feature from drake.

Atleast kay caught on later, he is definitely the Jay Z of this generation, the way he’s calculated due to his power and status in the industry, the whity bars and sneak disses, the fact that he’s hated on now due to his relationships with the Universal CEO Julien, u could say is the same way jay Z was hated on with his relationship with the white man are Def Jam. And lastly you could say the fact they both like they young gal 😂, Jay Z was also known for his love for teen gal like Aaliyah and shiiit. Good episode though 😎 taze we with you, drakes the goat and he’s showing it right now

Gama also has equity in Death Row distribution bought off Snoop, allowing them to use all musicians that were signed to Death Row. Might be the reason Drake was allowed to use 2PAC and Snoop without consent.
