Gusteau goes with their father, Ego stays with their mother (and adopts her last name) then not only is Ego upset his brother left him and his mother, but then when he starts to become a famous Chef his mother starts to act like he's better than ego, like a 'why can't you be more like your brother' sort of thing Ego gets sick of his mom's obsession with his brother, becoming more egotistical of him, so he moves to England to get away from it for awhile where he becomes a critic and comes back to France finally to get his revenge and give his brother a bad review

No one else that didn’t know Anton Ego and/or Gusteau personally back in their childhood days and outside of the family wouldn’t know they liked the Ratatouille. Remy couldn’t simply just know unless Gusteau is his reincarnation. It would have been second nature for Remy choose it because of the memories and impact of those good days with family and cooking that Gusteau holds on to, even though he is reincarnated. Gusteau alone, through Remy, would make the right call that the Ratatouille would be the one thing to make amends with his brother. I hope that my evidence makes sense to add onto the potential theory of Remy being Gusteau’s reincarnation. :)

And also him getting to make the right decision and choose his family over cooking, as we can see in him helping Linguini (whom he presumably abandoned) and helping his new rat family, particularly Emile, like he didn’t help Anton before. And also, him cooking especially for Anton/Anton investing in Remy as fixing the family relationship.

It can be proved by the fact that her house is full of the Gusteau’s pictures, books, she is binge watching the TV shows with him. But there is no mention of Anton at all, no pictures, just nothing. Because of the rivalry and of jealousy for their mother’s love Ego became a food critic, opposing himself to Gusteau, to and it is clearly visible that for him this breaking review of his brother’s restaurant was deeply personal.

I am basically watching this five years later which is way too late because I was a kid back in 2016 back in 2018 but I understand the story more now of Ratatouille and a lot of Pixar movies but before I didn't basically every kid doesn't understand things like these thanks were going into detail with this backstory of the movie great logic man

Has anyone ever wondered if it was Skinner who served Anton's meal all those years ago. Perhaps he had tried serving Anton a frozen dish despite Gusteau's disapproval. But it wasn't out of malice, Skinner just wanted to give his creation its debut, revealing the nature of his dish after Anton gave his thoughts about it, but it failed. Anton knew right away that the dish he was served was nowhere near up to his high standards. As such, Anton, as he says in the movie, "I love food, and if I don't love it, I don't swallow." Clearly infering that his past experience at the restaurant left a bad taste in his mouth. It was probably even the first dish that Anton was served that made him leave in disgust. Hoping to save his restaurant and his friend's job, Gusteau took the fall for what happened that night. As the captain often goes down with his ship. In this case, Gusteau went down with his restaurant's reputation. And despite everything that had transpired, Skinner seemed to learn nothing as he proceeded to release the Gusteau brand frozen foods, possibly to spite the critic who shunned the restaurant. Thankfully, the other chefs had the same idea as Anton as they recall a large quantity of the frozen meals in order to celebrate burning them. Saying goodbye to their stagnation. I certainly would've loved to know if there was a story that went into detail about Anton's original experience at Gusteau's restaurant.

The Theorizer, when Gusteau died, he looks as old as Ego in the movie. Meaning that he has to be Ego’s father, Gusteau taught his wife or his girlfriend if he taught her when weren’t married yet. When Gusteau had Linguini, Ego and his mom left France because it has bad memories of Gusteau and Linguini.
My only problem with your theory is that the brothers were born too early for linguini to work at the restaurant. It's better if the mother gave birth to them around mid to late 50s, then Linguini is born around late 1980s. This is more accurate since Linguini was just a bustboy in Gusteau's restaurant.
The Theorizer, I apologize for the bad grammar due to wearing arm braces, but, there is actually a secret hidden psychological theory in this film represented by ego, gusteau, and the chef that tries to ruin the restaurant. If you were to apply Freudian psychology to their personalities each of them represents a part of the self. Gusteau/collete is the superego, always trying to do what is right and refusing to buckle even when things seem their worst. ego is of course the ego itself, arrogant and strong. the short head chef represents the id, as he is entirely corrupt and always trying to get everyone to to bad things and corrupt the gusteaus legacy even to sell out for fast money. and of course linguini and remmy are the childlike psyche that have these balancing forces constantly affecting how they think and act. like LITERALLY gusteau ACTUALLY MANIFESTS TO REMMY as a "little angel on his shoulder", and helps him make sure that linguini and himself are always doing what is right. like, you NEED to watch the film through this lens, as if you are making a Freudian breakdown of each character. Because holy balls, they fit the roles TO A "T"...

Maybe the reason the brothers have differing surnames is because Auguste looking just like his father kept his name, but Anton despising his brother changed his surname to his mother maiden name which would be Ego?
What if… Ego was shown **alone** without Gusto. -> Ego was the 1st child and that meant he had all the love from his mother. But then Gusto is born and gets all the attention from their mother (as it usually is) Gusto starts loving cooking as his mother does. -> Ego gets jealous and starts criticising Gusto’s food. There could have been an argument between the two after some years, that Ego shouldn’t criticise Gusto’s food, because he isn’t a food critic. -> Ego moves to England and the rest is how you said it.
If you seen the scene in Ratatouille you see the gas mask that the old woman wore poppy preferred my theory is that Gusto and Anton's father was a soldier who probably died in or after WWII my gest probably post-war and thire mom was probably a army chief like him. What do you think?
Gusteau may actually have neen finished off by a very rare condition called "Broken Heart Syndrome". Not fully understood as yet, but pretty close. Uaually occurs quickly, like in the first 24-60 hours after the triggering grief event.
Just came from your part 2 video. I see that you noticed the timeline was wrong. However, around 09:50 of the movie, we see the full picture that the old lady hung above the fireplace. In that picture, we can see the old lady and a mid-aged man in what looks like a military uniform. I assume the man is, more likely than not, her son. But anyway, this is just a little discovery that I find interesting. I really enjoyed your video and it's fun to try to find counter-evidence (with total respect to your theory).
How is it, that I just started to watch your videos the other day and end up knowing you would say something along the lines, where Remy is the reincarnate of Gusteau. Damn!
Theory alert Skinner and Renata worked together at the restaurant and were in a relationship or even married and broke up when she found out she was pregnant, she was cheating on him with Gusteau and didn’t want to tell Skinner so she fled to America. This sudden departure would have led skinner to run to America possibly living off ready meals to go find her which would explain his love for all things ready meal, he then returned to Gusteau heartbroken. When he got a message from Linguini saying Renata was his mother and asking for a job he had to accept to see what he thought was his son. His contempt for his former lover is the reason he pretends not to know her name when asking after her but shows clear sadness when he finds out she died mere seconds later. But it’s when he discovers the letter that his actions make no sense. If he thinks Gusteau May have a son then the last thing he should be doing is telling anyone, especially a lawyer who may interfere with his capture of the restaurant for the 2 days left before it is his. The only other reason for questioning Linguini’s heritage is that he believed all this time that this was his son and that his original plan was to get the frozen food line going then return to America to find Renata and his son and bring them back to his empire. He now wants to ruin him to gain vengeance on his former boss and late lover for cheating him out of everything.

I am basically watching this five years later which is way too late because I was a kid back in 2016 back in 2018 but I understand the story more now of Ratatouille and a lot of Pixar movies but before I didn't basically every kid doesn't understand things like these thanks were going into detail with this backstory of the movie great logic man
Personally I still believe in the first theory which suggests that Gusteu is the father of both Ego and Linguini, the old man's picture is Gusteu... It makes sense that Ego's depression and Hatred towards guesteu is as a result of His mother being dumped ..
Has anyone ever wondered if it was Skinner who served Anton's meal all those years ago. Perhaps he had tried serving Anton a frozen dish despite Gusteau's disapproval. But it wasn't out of malice, Skinner just wanted to give his creation its debut, revealing the nature of his dish after Anton gave his thoughts about it, but it failed. Anton knew right away that the dish he was served was nowhere near up to his high standards. As such, Anton, as he says in the movie, "I love food, and if I don't love it, I don't swallow." Clearly infering that his past experience at the restaurant left a bad taste in his mouth. It was probably even the first dish that Anton was served that made him leave in disgust.
Hoping to save his restaurant and his friend's job, Gusteau took the fall for what happened that night. As the captain often goes down with his ship. In this case, Gusteau went down with his restaurant's reputation. And despite everything that had transpired, Skinner seemed to learn nothing as he proceeded to release the Gusteau brand frozen foods, possibly to spite the critic who shunned the restaurant. Thankfully, the other chefs had the same idea as Anton as they recall a large quantity of the frozen meals in order to celebrate burning them. Saying goodbye to their stagnation.
I certainly would've loved to know if there was a story that went into detail about Anton's original experience at Gusteau's restaurant.

Dude, watching this video made me realise how much Anton looks like Linguini but made old. They look exactly alike, it's freaky. So many years and i've never noticed it until this video.
How could the way that Remy makes the ratatouille perfect because in the after Ego eats it and has his flash back his mother gives him a actual “stew” kind of version and Remy makes it as some weird stack thing do how does that work?

The Theorizer, when Gusteau died, he looks as old as Ego in the movie. Meaning that he has to be Ego’s father, Gusteau taught his wife or his girlfriend if he taught her when weren’t married yet. When Gusteau had Linguini, Ego and his mom left France because it has bad memories of Gusteau and Linguini.

My only problem with your theory is that the brothers were born too early for linguini to work at the restaurant.
It's better if the mother gave birth to them around mid to late 50s, then Linguini is born around late 1980s.
This is more accurate since Linguini was just a bustboy in Gusteau's restaurant.

I apologize for the bad grammar due to wearing arm braces, but,
there is actually a secret hidden psychological theory in this film represented by ego, gusteau, and the chef that tries to ruin the restaurant.
If you were to apply Freudian psychology to their personalities each of them represents a part of the self. Gusteau/collete is the superego, always trying to do what is right and refusing to buckle even when things seem their worst. ego is of course the ego itself, arrogant and strong. the short head chef represents the id, as he is entirely corrupt and always trying to get everyone to to bad things and corrupt the gusteaus legacy even to sell out for fast money. and of course linguini and remmy are the childlike psyche that have these balancing forces constantly affecting how they think and act.
like LITERALLY gusteau ACTUALLY MANIFESTS TO REMMY as a "little angel on his shoulder", and helps him make sure that linguini and himself are always doing what is right.
like, you NEED to watch the film through this lens, as if you are making a Freudian breakdown of each character. Because holy balls, they fit the roles TO A "T"...

Maybe the reason the brothers have differing surnames is because Auguste looking just like his father kept his name, but Anton despising his brother changed his surname to his mother maiden name which would be Ego?

What if… Ego was shown **alone** without Gusto. -> Ego was the 1st child and that meant he had all the love from his mother. But then Gusto is born and gets all the attention from their mother (as it usually is) Gusto starts loving cooking as his mother does. -> Ego gets jealous and starts criticising Gusto’s food. There could have been an argument between the two after some years, that Ego shouldn’t criticise Gusto’s food, because he isn’t a food critic. -> Ego moves to England and the rest is how you said it.
If you seen the scene in Ratatouille you see the gas mask that the old woman wore poppy preferred my theory is that Gusto and Anton's father was a soldier who probably died in or after WWII my gest probably post-war and thire mom was probably a army chief like him. What do you think?

Gusteau may actually have neen finished off by a very rare condition called "Broken Heart Syndrome". Not fully understood as yet, but pretty close.
Uaually occurs quickly, like in the first 24-60 hours after the triggering grief event.
Just came from your part 2 video. I see that you noticed the timeline was wrong. However, around 09:50 of the movie, we see the full picture that the old lady hung above the fireplace. In that picture, we can see the old lady and a mid-aged man in what looks like a military uniform. I assume the man is, more likely than not, her son. But anyway, this is just a little discovery that I find interesting. I really enjoyed your video and it's fun to try to find counter-evidence (with total respect to your theory).
After Remy and Linguini have their confrontation in the office after the interview with the press you can see a house drawn on the table beside Remy

How is it, that I just started to watch your videos the other day and end up knowing you would say something along the lines, where Remy is the reincarnate of Gusteau. Damn!
Theory alert Skinner and Renata worked together at the restaurant and were in a relationship or even married and broke up when she found out she was pregnant, she was cheating on him with Gusteau and didn’t want to tell Skinner so she fled to America. This sudden departure would have led skinner to run to America possibly living off ready meals to go find her which would explain his love for all things ready meal, he then returned to Gusteau heartbroken. When he got a message from Linguini saying Renata was his mother and asking for a job he had to accept to see what he thought was his son. His contempt for his former lover is the reason he pretends not to know her name when asking after her but shows clear sadness when he finds out she died mere seconds later. But it’s when he discovers the letter that his actions make no sense. If he thinks Gusteau May have a son then the last thing he should be doing is telling anyone, especially a lawyer who may interfere with his capture of the restaurant for the 2 days left before it is his. The only other reason for questioning Linguini’s heritage is that he believed all this time that this was his son and that his original plan was to get the frozen food line going then return to America to find Renata and his son and bring them back to his empire. He now wants to ruin him to gain vengeance on his former boss and late lover for cheating him out of everything.
