Almost 4, actually, 3 years and 9 months, and that's ignoring idol school
The group was announced on September 29, 2017, and they had their first performance as a group at the MAMA on November 29.
If we count from the announcement date, it makes 3 years and 11 months. So I think we could almost say 4 years.

to non-fans, wondering why jiheon, the girl in red was crying the whole time:
jiheon wanted to be an idol and went to idol school, a survival program against her parents' wishes. her parents didnt want her to become an idol because she was really good at studies - she always had the top grades. jiheon's parents were so against her becoming an idol. when jiheon debuted in fromis-9 at 15 years old, she continued studying hard despite her busy schedule as an idol. u can see many videos of her studying in the car when the group went on vacation, studying backstage at music shows, and she also posted a 5 hour video of her studying on youtube. she studied so hard and maintained her top grades even as an idol. u can now understand how much pressure she must have gotten from her parents who were against her idol dream and the pressure to do well in school because of her parents, and also her debuting at such a young age :,)

@@KatimaMulilo Nah, that's been evident for a good while. Take the surprise fanchant video, and you could see how Jiheon was on the verge of breaking down early, but managed to keep it in check. Then I suppose she distracted herself by teasing the rest.

What hit me the most was that Sae-Rom, as a captain try hold herself to not crying and show her best side during the speech even though the others were crying, but we all know that deep down, she is the most sentimental, the happiest and the proudest with her group achievement and all the members hardworks.
This kind of win really is so much better than instant win. Watching them grow slowly since idol school, gyuri to pd48, gyuri comeback, the hiatus, the almost wins, the move to otr, the move to pledis, the uncertainties... What a ride with fromis_9 🤍 and it's only gonna get better from here on out.

Maybe they are the lucky stars that HYBE / PLEDIS truly deserve for an ideal girl group. Nowadays there are many girl groups but fromis_9 caught my attention during Love Bomb era and I've been a flover ever since.
I used to have negative perception for Pledis ever since AS and Pristin, but its clear to me that this isn't on PLEDIS. Given how much effort they put for fromis_9's 1st comeback under PLEDIS, the stages, costumes, marketing and promotions, they are all dedicated. Beside, PLEDIS had already been investing and composing songs etc for fromis_9 since the beginning.
Please cherish our girls, PLEDIS. We Flovers will be behind you! Jiheon and Hayoung, this is an extremely overdue 1st that they deserve. Well done 😭😭😭 your hard work didnt betray you!
They may have learned from how horribly they treated their pass girl groups or Hybe simply won't allow negligence. If this were the Pledis of the past Fromis_9 would be in the dungeon and their youtube content would be non-existent.
@@Afronautsays part of me thinks it’s Hybe funneling more funds and support into pledis tbh. I believe it was album sales and “lack of funds” that ultimately disbanded pristin since they weren’t performing up to what pledis wanted. Seventeen is so self sufficient that they wouldn’t need to invest so much into them without gaining more and ift was the new revenue source (fans) that brought back nuest from the dungeon. With Hybe now footing lot of the bills I think pledis sees less of an interest on delaying comebacks. Honestly if that’s what it takes for pledis to FINALLY invest time into their groups than thank god for the acquisition

I’m a carat for almost 4 years and, even though I can’t speak about Pledis treatment with girl groups, I need to praise Pledis in some aspects, they really care about their artists and let them have a lot of freedom. I believe they will also take care of Fromis_9
@@foxyfuyu3474 Not really.......... Pledis back then DO HAVE MONEY since Nu'est make it big once again after PRODUCE 101 S2 and Seventeen is also doing well. Pristin did relatively well as a rookie as they won three rookie awards and their album are decent too. Plus it takes time for idol groups to grow especially if they are not from the BIG3. They simply just ignore Pristin for 2 years (common technique by giving silence treatment to make one leave themselves instead of them firing them)

to think that there was a time when i thought one of the groups i loved most would disband with no wins. i thought their long hiatus was a silent disbandment. i was afraid this group, with one of my favorite discographies and some of the most instantly lovable girls ive ever seen, would have their careers burn up and die because of a series of scandals they didn’t cause. i believed that them changing hands would be the end of it as well. i had already grieved losing them multiple times, and then they came back better than ever. and then again, again, and again. building upon great work and becoming better and better and better. now, after this win and 2 wins with DM, they’ve won 3 times, they continue to have a consistently great discography, their sentimental and heartbreaking voices have given me hope through a plague, and they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve. the music industry is full of so many horror stories, quiet tragedies, and uncaring realities, but every now and then someone who really needs it finds the spotlight they were dreaming of. i hope the industry and their company pays them well. i hope that they look back on these happy tears when they’re older and feel no regret for the years they spent earning them.

I became a flover first before i became an InSomnia. Eventho now dreamcatcher is my ult, i still love fromis_9. I always have a soft heart for them as I was there since their Idol School times, the very beginning. I am so happy for them to finally get a first win, as we know their tough journey as well, yk the long hiatus during the scandal. As a flover those times were really hard. Like their fate was uncertain if they would continue as a group. So glad they're still here together thriving. Guys, I just wanna say that we’ve come a long way. There was the idol school scandal, but fromis and us flovers stayed strong, the girls went on a hiatus only to release feel good, and we did a good job streaming. Now look at them, they have their first win (would’ve preferred for it to be under a different music show but oh well) AND they’re under hybe, our girls are slowly getting more popularity, our hard work is paying off! Let’s all take a quick break and realize just how far we’ve come, just what we did to get here. I can’t be more proud of everyone watching this video and everyone in the video.
