There is a great story that the guys from Home Free have told: back in 2019 they received a very sudden, last minute invite to Diana Ross’ 75th birthday party. Once they were there they were told by her personal assistant that Miss Ross had stumbled on *this cover* and had liked it so much that she then spent an entire day watching every music video she could on the group. Official videos and fan shot concert footage. She personally invited them to the party in order to meet them. She’s a fan. Can you get better praise than that? I don’t think so.
You might want to try two of their original songs: What’s the World Coming To? and What we Need is Love. Both are about how we are all connected to each other.
Oh my gosh that is an awesome story that I had not heard so thank you for sharing that. What an honor that must have been for them. I can't blame Ms. Ross for becoming a big fan, all it takes is one or two of their videos to be hooked for life.
@@mamabears34 There is a video on CZcams where the story gets told. The guys are telling the story at their concert because they are very tired from their previous 48 hours. Tim tells the story explaining that they had taken a red eye flight to L.A. from the east coast where they were in tour, gone to the party, flown back out to the east coast to continue the tour. The party was on a day they had scheduled as a rest day but there was mo way they were saying “No” to Dinah’s Ross.
Really cool story and a big honor for these guys to be invited to a legendary singer like Dianne ross
One of my favorite Home Free songs, but often overlooked is their cover of “We just disagree” . It has a positive message I think you’ll appreciate. But without a doubt their most powerful message comes from “Everybody walking this land”. The song as well as Tim’s comments at the end.

And I differ. It's one of the few I don't like. He is judging , finger pointing and name calling. you have to be the change you want.

Chris Rupp (usually wears cowboy hat) left the group mid 2016.... Adam Chance replaced him but just called "Chance" (dark hair, small beard, baritone/bass).

They have done alot of positive message songs. Two you should check out are "Everybody walking this land" ( please listen to the after song message by Tim Foust) and " Undivided" . And just for future reference The guy who sang first in this video long hair and beard is their tenor Austin Brown, the second guy long dark hair ( which in newer videos he cut short) and deep voice is Tim Foust, the guy with beard and glasses is their other tenor Rob Lundquist, the guy with short dark hair in sunglasses is their baritone/bass Adam Chance, and their beatboxer/ vocal percussionist is Adam Rupp. They are 5 very talented and humble guys who love what they do and their fans! They have also done a collaboration with Don McClean on American Pie. It says a lot when legends in the music industry goes looking for you.

You sir, are an American patriot in every sense of the phrase. I'm a white dude, 51 years old. I grew up in a time in the '70s & '80s where I witnessed racist attitudes being softened, modified, even destroyed by my generation (Gen-X). Now I'm watching that pendulum continue to swing and going over the top. It makes me ill to know that anyone should have to apologize for the color of their skin, or even for their perceived "privilege" growing up. We all knew some had more privilege than others. But we didn't make that young person pay for it socially. Look, we're all Americans in 2022 (well... ok mostly). Black, white, brown .. anyone looked around lately at all the interracial couples and young people they've produced? So let's just get on with life as we do, and get along with one another AS WE DO! The media wants to make us feel as though we don't get on at all, but it's simply not true.

Johnnie you ask very good questions about raising children in today's society. Many people are going to home schooling to help their children grow up with strong ethical and moral values as well as an excellent education. We need positive role models for the children. You certainly provide a great role model for young people. 😀
I found out who home free was when I found the video with home free proud to be an American and still watch all there videos since.didnt see them on the sing off until recently they are all very talented singer and they harmonize together perfectly

Home Free has done collaborations with legends such as The Oak Ridge Boys, Kenny Rogers, Alabama, Charlie Daniels and Don McLean. Their collaborations with Peter Hollens on "Amazing Grace" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" are terrific. Tim Foust has dueted with Hollens on "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Green Sleeves" (on Hollens channel). I'm old enough to remember watching Soul Train (probably your Grandma's era) and this video so reminds me of it. Love from Canada.

If adults would keep their mouths shut racism would be wiped out in next generation. Kids don't see the color of their friend's skin they just see their friend. I grew up in a very diverse neighborhood and my sister never heard the word spic until she was a teenager and then had to ask the person what it meant and was horrified that they had called someone that just because of their ethnicity. I'm happy and proud to say that the way we were raised and the way we raised our kids and grandkids our family has friends we consider family of all races, religions and sexual orientations. Thank you for your thoughts, Johnnie. How do you raise good kids (of any skin color or ethnicity)? Honestly, church is an important requirement, I think. We're Russian Orthodox, and our church teaches us that all people are able to follow God in the same way and have similar value, but all are short of perfection and must constantly strive to better themselves in their relationship to other people, to the world at large, and to God. Parents who pass on such values to their children (and who explain to those children that what they're hearing from the culture at large is very often incorrect and at odds to those values) are the best source of instruction in proper relationship to everyone.
