Painting Turbulent Water - Waves and Waterfalls
    Color Depth and Luminosity:
Acrylics: To boost the vibrancy, consider using a gloss medium to help colors appear more saturated and add depth to the water's appearance.
Oils: Utilize the natural luminosity of oil paints by building up glazes-thin, transparent layers of color. This technique can particularly enhance the perception of depth and the shimmering quality of light on water.
    Capturing Motion:
Brushwork: In both mediums, consider the direction and flow of your brushwork to reinforce the movement of the water. Curved, flowing strokes can simulate the rolling motion of waves, while sharper, more chaotic strokes can mimic the violent splashing against rocks.
    Drying Times and Workability:
Acrylics: Use retarders or a spray bottle to keep the paint workable longer. This allows for more blending, which can be crucial for smooth transitions in water.
Oils: Use the longer drying times to blend edges where water meets sky or rocks, creating a more cohesive and dynamic scene.
