I started having anxiety and insomnia at the age of 11, about then I had barely noticeable black dots
when I was 16 years old, I had severe depression with severe anxiety. I'm 20 now, I don't have depression anymore, but I sometimes have insomnia and anxiety. Just 5 days ago, there were more of these black and white dots, flickering, there was a migraine with an aura a couple of times. I did an MRI scan of the brain, went to neurologists, no one knows what's wrong with me and they can't help me

I have VSS at the age 25 because of over drinking alcohol. Woke up the next day and notice floaters and dark shades were staticy. Now at age 35 I messed around with psychedelics and it made it worst. Now most colors has a static snow. I hope to make it better by stop taking psychedelics and drinking. Live a healthy life

My VSS started 2-3 days after last SNRI dosis. I have always been thinking that this is no coincidence, so it is actually a relief to finally hear some kind of acknowledgement from a professional.

I took sertraline and escitalopram (for depression) years before I've got VSS. They only seemed to work for a few months and then stopped working. I always thought that SSRIs aren't made for me. However, I do have like every other correlation with anecdotal causes for VSS.
I actually tried my first "trip" (technically it wasn't a trip) with MDMA 2 days ago (it was really interesting and psychologically growing). But I was also afraid about increasing my VSS, but it didn't.
I also tried Psylocibyn 1 year ago and it made me notice my visual snow (I think I already had it but didn't notice since that moment) or it made it worst (and that is why I notice).
I have tinnitus since I have memory (5/6 years old) and drugs never affect tinnitus.
Just telling if anyone wanna know any case like me.

My VS started in 2007. I took one time Magic Mushrooms in the year 2007 or 2006. Maybe its the cause. But maybe general Stress at this time.
Since my VS started, my Life ended. I am not able to work, i have social Problems, i have no relationship and so on. My VS is really intense, also about finding no sence anymore in Life and having no Motivation for anything. Plus the extremely Concentrationproblems, being fast exhausted and tiredness every Day.
Such a horrible Life. Now i am 35.
You are not alone, my vss started in 2019. After using finasteride against hair loss. Life for me seriously lost its meaning from that moment on. I have to deal with this every day. But luckily we have each other and there is more understanding. Let's hope that a solution for this will be found in the future. What is said in this video is correct, now on the way to good treatment.

Hi! Is hard to read comments like this. Don't lose hope. You are not alone and medicine and technology will hopefully help us next 5/10 years. People with VSS is growing so fast (and nobody knows why).
Please, search "visual snow relief" on CZcams. You will see videos with static. Try few. Stay some minutes looking close to the screen, on center. Then probably you will feel some seconds or minutes vss relief.
Is little, but when I'm really stressed by vs it helps me.

I've at times wondered if I wasn't covertly, highly intermittently, and repeatedly dosed with benzodiazepines. Kindling does seem to match a lot of what happened to me. Although you can do the same thing with EMR modulated in such and such a way as well. The serotonin stuff would just be screwed up gut flora. Bad food, birth by cesarean section, injections given all through infancy that train the immune system to destroy beneficial gut flora while tuning the brain for an inflammatory profile so it doesn't grow correctly. Huh, then you get VS. Makes you think. To be fair, cannabinoids are stored in fat. More women than ever have been on all manner of prescription drugs and smoked weed, and then had children. So perhaps this primes for VS as well. That would also make sense, at least as potential, though not required, nodes in the constellation.
The serotonin aspect does seem to play into a "metabolic trap" concept, however.
Wouldn't visual snow patients then benefit from SNRIs as they dont target serotonin???

SNRIs are Serotonin and Noradrenaline Reuptake Inhibitors so you are completely wrong.
