    This is one of the best looking Accord generations, right up there with the 7th and 8th generation. The current 10th generation has a front end that's very busy.

    These cars are sleepers, alongside the Camry V6, to a degree. It's a shame that Honda decided to ditch this engine for a turbocharged 4 cylinder and then discontinue the manual transmission in 2020.

    I'm glad you called out the blind spot camera, I have an 18 Fit ex with it and love love love it. You can sneak at onramps before really the mirror. But the decided it was easier to go with indicator lights in the mirrors opposed to cameras in each. It's across all models and I think changed in 2020.

      I fully recommend deleting the VCM with a muzzler. I used the S-VCM and am happy with it. All kinds of problems are caused by the crappy VCM switching between 3 and 6 cylinders. Excessive oil consumption, fouled plugs and worn engine mounts are the most common problems. Delete that VCM and this is a great car!

    Pretty much same mods on '17 Touring but full catless, trans tuning, few other things and delivering surprise gaps to everything from STIs, 370Z/G37s, to pre Coyote Mustangs and pre 392 Chargers and Challengers makes quite the fun DD 👌 J35 is top notch

Both current generations of accord and civic have Blindspot monitors like every other car. The camera was cool work but my only gripe it was only on the passenger side you were pretty much screwed on the driver side

    Not sure what you think you are feeling but these automatics with VCM do NOT have VTEC, VCM REPLACES VTEC

    • @LousWRX
      @LousWRX Před rokem +4

      I'm the owner of this car, and the vehicle uses i-VTEC (you can even see it imprinted onto the engine cover at 1:42). VCM has nothing to do with vtec, that is what deactivates 3 cylinder at higher speeds to improve MPG's, but I have it disabled through the ktuner. You can also modify which RPMs you want for the ivtec to kick in as well with the ktuner. The manual 6 speed 9th Generation Accord V6 has a slightly different variant of Vtec, though, but both engines do indeed have it, how ever the manual version doesn't use the cylinder deactivation feature as it is not to designed to work with manual transmission vehicles.

    • @LamoidZombieDog
      @LamoidZombieDog Před rokem

      @@LousWRX I own both a 2012 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L V6, and a 2015 Honda Crosstour EX-LN V6 4WD, my accord has a J35Z2, which has ivtec and VCM. Having VCM for mine, which is an automatic means it does not have VTEC on the intake or exhaust, and when it activates it does nothing. My Crosstour has a J35Y1, which is what the 9th gen accords with autos use, it also has ivtec and VCM, but Honda did manage to have both VCM and VTEC on the exhaust, so it does partially have VTEC unlike my 8th gen accord, and so does your car. Back 6 months ago I did not own the crosstour and was not aware that Honda was able to add vtec into the 9th gen accords engine, but either way it's still not full intake and exhaust VTEC.
      With the V6 it's also barely utilized since by the time you are at a high enough rpm for it to activate, it's ready to shut off because the car has to shift unlike an i4 that holds a gear for a lot longer. But that's a different problem.

    Bro how old are you? You said you grew up with the 2014 Accord as a kid. Then you have video of 2020 with you on a bike near a mid 2010s Accord. This video came out in 2022. So you are so nostalgic about 2 years ago? I'm going to guess you're like 18-21 if you "grew up" in 2014-2020.

      It's actually very reliable. Just delete the VCM on the V6 engines and keep up with maintenance and you'll be fine. PS: the V6 engines are belt driven, so you'll have to change the timing belt regularly.
