DIY Barbie inspired dress in the Cottage style | Step by step sewing tutorial with pattern making

Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
In today's video, I'm going to share with you how I made a Barbie inspired dress in the Cottage style.
This dress comes with a heart neck design, a double face puff sleeve and 2 tiers skirt. It also has gathered fabric at the back to replace the zipper as well.
To make this dress, please check out some of my basic information below:
- Sewing machine: Brother Auto Tension
- Material: 2.5m of cotton gingham fabric in pink and 0.5m of cotton fabric for lining.
- My body measurements: 80-66-92 (bust-waist-hip). I'm 165cm and usually wear Small size.

I amm confused about the skirt measurements, if my bust is 35inches then should I cut 2 pieces of first tier of length 35inches or should I cut 2pieces of first tier measure 17.5inches length

Thank you very much Jess! I made a pink dress from muslin cotton. It turned out stunning❤. The only thing is the process of attaching the skirt to the top confused me a little, and too some time and efforts to figure out how to do it so the elastic thing works. I think for the beginners it is very handy to see this also.

What is the length and width of elastic used in back bodice part?

It's around 30cm each one.

i am confuse the skirt measurement😢
The top tier is calculated by measuring your bust circumference. If that comes to 34 (convert to cm. I am used to inches not cm) inches cut two 34 inches (convert to cm).
The second tier is 34 x2 = 68 inches. Cut 68x2.
For the length of the skirt, measure from your your knee. Divide into two equal. For the 1st tier add seam allowances on both sides.
For the second tier add seam allowance for only the side to be joined with the top tier.
For the bottom of the second tier add hemming allowance od 2 cm.
That should give you the total of the skirt.
Her measurement of 22 cm and 35 cm were based on her preference for the height of the skirt that she wants.
You need to calculate yours.

I made whole dress only with pink fabric (lining is just same as outer part) and I used 3mx1.6m and some of it left , my measurements : 114, 100, 125 cm (bust, waist, hips)
