  • In this video I demonstrate the basic fairy hair knot using two fairy hair strands. This allows you to see what I'm doing up close as I break down the steps to completing the knot. I also talk about how you can get more training on how to professionally apply fairy hair and even build your own business doing fairy hair!

      Hi Bonnie! If you can't get it from watching the video, I can certainly help out. My training rate is $100/hour. However, I would highly recommend doing one of my trainings because you get more bang for your buck that way. You will learn 3 knots including this one and all of them are stronger/longer lasting than this one. You can check them out on my website feathersandfairyhair.com/services. Trainings can be done with me over video, in fact most of the trainings I do are over video with people in other states. They are not pre-recorded, but personal and you-focused ;)

    Your tutorials are amazing! I learned how to do fairy hair when I started volunteering at dental clinics in Mexico through rotary (keeping the kids distracted while waiting for their procedures), and now volunteer for local schools and non profits auctioning parties. That said, I cannot get the knots close to the scalp no matter how hard I try. My knots are usually 1-2 inches from the scalp. Any guidance
    You have is appreciated and if scheduling a 1 hour tutorial is best, please advise, thanks! Julie

    • @feathersandfairyhair
      @feathersandfairyhair  Před rokem

      Wow! Thank you! I love your story! If you are using the basic fairy hair knot, unfortunately it doesn't allow you to get much closer than about an inch because of the way the knot is made. In my Sparkle Basics training I will show you several different knots including the one that I use, which will get you much closer to the scalp, and the slip knot which you can get right on the scalp. I would recommend the training which is $200. But if you'd prefer to have me look at your knot and make recommendations, it would be $100 an hour. But my guess is that you know your knot well, so there wouldn't be much for me to say ;) Again, I think the training is the way to go, it takes about 4 hours and we can do it over video. Let me know! In the meantime, check out my training page on my website www.feathersandfairyhair.com/services

      Hi Tracy! You want to choose a knot that is as close to the scalp as possible and, most importantly, that will last. Different knots can accomplish this same purpose. In my courses I teach several different ways of tying knots along with their pros and cons so that you can choose the one that feels the best to you. So how does it attach to your hair? This seems simple enough if i can find that tool but how to attach it it your hair after you’ve made the knot is missing from this video...

    • @feathersandfairyhair
      @feathersandfairyhair  Před 2 lety +3

      Fairy hair is attached to the hair with the knot that I'm demonstrating in the video. This is called the basic fairy hair knot. One of the fairy hair strands represents a hair and the other is the fairy hair. This is a simpler demonstration of what you would do with a strand of fairy hair and a strand of hair. I thought I had done a video with a manekin head, but I don't see it on here. I will work on doing another video with the fairy hair and an actual hair on a manekin or a person. Thanks for the feedback!

      Good question, once you tie the knot, the hair becomes sealed into it so you cannot undo the knot. When the hair sheds, the fairy hair will shed with it.

      Hi Jennifer! Thanks for reaching out! Actually the trainings are $300 for the all inclusive/how to build a fairy hair business course, and $200 for the just learning to put in fairy hair course. These prices are a little higher than last year when I made the video, because I have more experience and there's more information. Originally they were $200 and $125. I'm thinking about adding another short course on how to put in your own fairy hair, which will probably be around $100, but I'm still working on that. I am located in Charlotte, NC, but I can do the courses over video, typically Facebook Messenger or video chatting service like that. I've done several trainings over video with people in other states and as long as you have the tools that I recommend, it has gone really well. The courses include the tool kits, review videos, and ongoing mentoring. You can check out my training page on my website at www.feathersandfairyhair.com/services.

    How can i Take Them off ??? 😭 i think my hair does break off …

    • @feathersandfairyhair
      @feathersandfairyhair  Před 2 lety +1

      Typically once the knot is tied it is permanent to that hair, so you'd have to pull out the hair or break the hair at the knot. I usually just grab the knot between my thumb and third finger, press down, and pull quickly. But it depends how well the knot is done... sometimes if the knot is not good, you can slide it off the hair and save the hair. Does that answer your question?

  • @rdmonster28
    @rdmonster28 Před rokem

    I really don’t understand everytime I pull it through (latch correct and all) the knot just unravels. I have a tight grip with my thumb and ring on the bottom part…

    • @feathersandfairyhair
      @feathersandfairyhair  Před rokem

      Hi there! My guess is that you are not twisting a full 360 degrees after you pull the loop under your thumb. If you don't twist completely, the loop for the knot doesn't form and the knot unravels. When you're done twisting, the hook is pointed away from you again and that twist you just made must cross the latch before you grab the strands in the working window. Really make sure you're doing this and let me know!
