- It has been awhile since I have done a legit tank update like the old days, where I would one take the video talking about all that has changed, as if you are at my house for a tank tour... so here it is! It definitely brings back a feeling of nostalgia and it felt really nice to finally do a complete update on this system, almost like I finally let out a breath that I had been holding for a long, long time for no apparent reason.

Its great to see you are still making videos! I used to watch you 6-7 years ago when I was really into the hobby and got some nostalgia watching you doing an update! Cheers man!
Cheers my friend! I hope life has been kind to you!
Hard to believe it's been 3 years already. Looks awesome
Time really flies!! Technically 3.5 years already, I kept thinking the tank is 2 years old max so it was a shocker, lol.
You should try and get yourself an Australian Stripie! If you are unaware, they are a fish that will control Aplasia in your tank extremely well. Glad to see everything is going well with Tank and family! thank you for your content!
I was THIS CLOSE to getting one. Did some more last minute research and it seems like they will likely nip at freshy corals once they get larger (not always); ultimately decided to err on the side of caution. May change my mind again if the Aiptasia Eating Filefish does not live up to it's name in a few months
I had a little one and my god he didn’t eat coral but fish he was so mean
@@InappropriateReefer I can tell you that after putting a single peppermint shrimp in my 40 gallon i haven't seen an aptaisia in months
Ur up into something with those Goniopora attached to the wall.
Some species of Gonio have tendency to sting hard than others.
The tank is jam pack!
Wish you're closer to Toronto, I could at least bring some softies over next time I visit!
Great job! Spectacular tank and fun hearing you enthusiastically talking about and reviewing everything.
Did I appear way too happy? 😂
Absolutely not! Great energy and enthusiasm.
I have been out of the hobby for a year now but so happy to see your 3 years with this tank!!! I loved all your videos and content.
Thank you and I hope you return to the hobby at some point in the future when life allows!
LOVE the aquascape, so much depth and looks amazing!
Your tank makes mine feel bare! GOALS
Tank is looking amazing 🎉❤
This tank is sooooo full now. Great job 💯👌🔥✌️
So missed you! Thx for the video ❤
I love your gonis. They are HUGE :). Keep update on your weeping Willow Toadstool. I would love to see how they grow out.
Great update. Tank has really started to hit its stride
Congratulations on everything bro. My baby girl is now 8 months and time is flying. Much Love.
Wow has it been 8 months already?! When you get a breather, we all need to meet up!
The tank is looking very nice. Corals are vibrant and growing well. Nice job Mok-yi
Thank you!!
The tank looks amazing!! I’ve been looking everywhere for goldenrod but no luck
@InnapropriateReefer ,
It’s been really educational , informative , and truly enjoyable watching your upgrades/projects, successes and failures , various tanks , and overall evolution of your hobby and dedication you show towards your family , friends, and your reef tanks and their well-being. Without a doubt my favorite reef inspired channel, if not my overall favorite channel to watch and actually be able to walk away knowing I’ve learned , or gained something from the content . Thanks for taking the time to always provide us with awesome content , appreciate ya buddy
That purplish acropora in the background looks nice.
A warrior tort
It's BEAUTIFUL!!!
Nice tank!!!!
I love my Chromis and Springer Damsels. Such underrated lil guys. You won't regret adding them bud 🙌🏻 a school of 10-15 would look so nice in your tank.
I just love your videos your tanks are awesome
Slowly becoming a stick head. I'm still rooting for you on the tsa competition, you got this!
Thanks buddy! I totally get the appeal of sticks now. ;-)
You should try blue eyed cardinal fish again. You have a automatic feeder now, ive kept 6 now for a few months with one also. I also love the closeness of their schooling pattern.
Also with anthias maybe switch out your lyretails with disbars. They are similar in colour ( not the males) and stay relatively small maybe around 3"
Gorgeous tank. I am a vicarious reefer, in that in my hobby style I depend on you guys's videos to supply me with tanks to look at, and I really am mezmerized by yours. Its the placement of the soft corals plus the fantastic color combining of the fish you have, the coloration on that neon magenta sort of thread finny one is not even describable and so vivid, then you have that hippo tang and the yellow tang, incredible combination colors! The movement of the soft corals plus how they are placed just looks fantastic. Seems like the sps are on the recovery still from your crash though, but still they provide some great shapes. I am thinking of trying to make tank pictures using AI, I make music so maybe i will do a tune and an AI reef aquarium video, Ai is kind of difficult to get it doing actual species,,, it probably won't work though. Great work, I think you must work hard on your tank.
Your videos are the best!!
You're the best!
It's been 3 years? I remember when you were glueing your rockscape together for this tank. Jeez
I was surprised too; technically 3.5 years already... time flies!
Love those Jawbreaker's.
Oh.....I just love the Gonis on the back wall! I'm totally stealing that!
Cheers,
Chris
Tank looks awesome, by the way!
Can confirm that captive bred yellow tangs color up, mine is captive bred and is as bright as yours
Love that you got 2 more clams!!!! your tanks is fucking ridiculous beautiful
Thank you! Maybe I'll get more!
how fast do they grow????

Starki are more like angel fish...I have one and it's the boss of the tank and they get large, about dwarf angel size. The only way you could keep more than one is to get a paid, otherwise you'll only want one. I have three springers though and they're great.
Thanks for the insight, sounds like Starki is still a little mean? (and Springers are a Go!)
@@InappropriateReefer You could get away with one, it's the largest fish in my tank, hence why it's the boss. But it's definitely a fish you should only add one of, so Springers would be the way to go if you want multiples!
I may be over thinking this, but I recommend you get a grounding prove for you tank. I see some small symptoms that might suggest electrical current in your tank, again, i might be over reacting
I have one I'll plug it in; curious what symptoms you're noticing?
@@InappropriateReefer it might be the lighting, but the yellow tang had some discoloration along its lateral line. When I first dealt with similar situation I thought it was that my fish where getting sick, but after trying everything, I read online to try a grounding probe, because some equipment can leak current into the tank over time, I tried it, and sure enough with in a few weeks to a couple of months, my tang recovered
beautiful tank. Do you have a video showing what you do and how about trace elements?
That Aiptasia Garden looks great
😂😂😂
Really amazing reef tank I love the amount of varieties of corals you have ❤ thank you for sharing this with us would love a frag of that soft coral that you got from Red that thing is really interesting I love oddball corals do you have any Fungia plate coral I want one in my near future ❤
Thanks! I had cool looking small one up to a few months ago, unfortunately lost it. =( Would love to try Fungia plate again!
@@InappropriateReefer I will have one some day soon maybe in a trade I love trading coral 🪸 this is an amazing experience hope you have an awesome Sunday
Baby almost transparent captive bred Yellow Tangs are selling for $280.00 in my location. Insane!!!!!!!!! Was talking with the LFS owner and was told he had to order a certain amount of coral to even be allowed to get a certain quantity of Yellow Tangs.
I read that the ban may be lifting for some species in Hawaii, including the Yellow Tang: www.reef2reef.com/threads/hawaii-fish-ban-update.965242/
Maybe that'd encourage a price drop, or maybe not since I assume the captive-bred fish profit margin is built in based more on level of effort, not as much by supply & demand. I guess we'd really get to see what kind of industry captive breeding is. ;-)
Does your Wrasse pick at your clams? I've not been able to keep clams for more than a few weeks and I have seen my wrasses pick and poke at the clams.
I like your tank. very full and lots of nice corals hiding in there. what are the fish that sticks to your glass? can you do a clip on how your sump is?
Thank you! That's a Yellow-lined Goby; supposed to only only ~1.5 years life span but I feel like this guy has lived for 2+ years already! I may have shown my sump in earlier videos, but never really talked about it much since I'm not too big on the equipment side of things, but I absolutely can and maybe should; thanks for the idea!
I gotta send you some video of a quarter sized baby willow I have!
I see it, drop them tips!!
congrats.. had my 150 tall up for the last 5 yrs with dinner plate sized sps..as well as my prized 8 in. alien eye pectinia..on auto pilot basically ..drop a coral in and it thrived..then 2 wks ago sprang a leak..now i have nothing..tank shopping... and will have to start all over again.excited for a new tank design..but depressed over what i lost .
I am so sorry to hear this -- I am sure the next one will be even better, with all the experience you have gained w/ the 150g, clean slate and new beginning is always exciting, it's just very unfortunate it came in this form. Btw, my dream tank would be a tall tank that I do not see the top and bottom edge of the tank when I stand in front of it. Is the maintenance of a tall tank really as bad as everyone tells me it'd be?
@@InappropriateReefer other than cleaning the glass ..no difference..i'm a tall guy so it was nice to be able to stand and look into the tank..that's what i'll miss the most
Add more gobies and blemmys in a new CLAM and macro algae aquarium !!
ever tried single dosing lanthan directly into the tank to get rid of the flat-worms?
Sounds like you’ve got time for another kid!😆
HECK NO, lollllll!
Can you explain what worked and what didn’t work with your clams? Your clam is beautiful and I want to get one as soon as I get my bigger tank
I’d stay away from using Vibrant in the tank for one. 😵 otherwise clams love light, the more you could give them the better! Also higher pH if possible and as always, stable environment is always appreciated!
I just moved all of my live stock from a 60 gallon cube to a 135g 6 foot long tank. Curious as to what your total fish is. We mostly only see the anthias and tangs.
Hey was just wondering if you dosed anything in your 17 gallon mangrove tank? i wanted to setup a 15 gallon softie tank with no dosing
Not regularly; once in awhile I haphazardly dose some liquid fertilizer like ChatetoGro or Thrive+ mainly for the mangrove. I once in a blue moon add a little Magnesium & Iron as well, also for the mangrove since I understand that it uptakes those elements more aggressively compared to a regular reef tank and this mangrove is getting larger. But for softie tank I wouldn't worry about dosing especially if you plan on doing regular water changes, and if I were to dose, I would probably go for All-for-Reef.
Hi, how much do you run the radions and the blades, I do radions 60 and blades 70😊
Any interest in a Copperband Butterly for Aptasia control. Beautiful fish as well
Very interested and I have been trying to find one that would readily take pellets & flakes, because I can't see myself consistently feeding frozen food to the tank. Trying to keep the tank is as low-maintenance as possible since there are already so many priorities in life! Secondary worry would be the CBB picking at clams, but I hear they're typically pretty good about not doing it?
Love your tank ! Hate the apitasias ^_^
That makes the two of us! 😊
My garf bonsai all died suddenly too
Sorry to hear this, hope it left behind a few polyps and surprises you in the future like it did me!
Are you cultivating the 3+ aiptasia underneath that firecracker SPS?
That’s gonna cause a problem soon…
I was a bit worried about those.. currently waiting for F-Aiptasia to arrive.
Is the hawaii ban still active?
Don’t get rid of dory!
🚚
What do you think the swimmable volume is? 65g?
If I were to guess, maybe around 90g? The display tank is supposedly 135g
What brand is your tank?
It's a MODE Aquarium Infinity Series 135g
I didn't watch video beginning to end. Just wondering if you are still using Moonshine.
Any plans to get clownfish again?
Perhaps for the Mangrove System, but would need to get a mesh top first for that tank snice the new clowns may fight and dart around.
Did you get rid of your File Fish? Notice some Aip's.
Actually, just saw him.
This particular filefish has not started on the Aiptaisas yet; although in the past I have had 100% success rate in terms of these filefish eventually eating aiptaisas... only downside is that they're also likely to start picking at corals afterwards.
@@InappropriateReefer I have just moved one in from quantine into my main system and he has demolished the Aip's in just over a week. I think he might have picked at my Duncan's but nothing else and he eats frozen like a pig. I suppose I will just have to keep a good eye on him :)
I guess the flasher wrasse passed away.
Sadly yes, the Flasher Wrasse disappeared one day maybe a year or 2 ago
RIP little man. I was super invested in that little guys storyline.
Don’t frag those gonis, continue to grow them out
Mine didn’t touch one aptasia and the found him on the floor ugliest fish ever in my opinion
420th like B)
small fish at 33:10 any one have a id?
And don’t take the extra time to make more kids make corals.😂😂😂👍🏼😮💨👍🏼
I'm not making that mistake again! 😂
@@InappropriateReefer Don’t get me wrong you have two blessings right there but man there expensive and time consuming keep up the good work 👍🏼🫵🏼the man!
