Here you are just chilling, minding your own business, when some crazy immortal person shows up and starts swinging at you, and no matter how many times you slap them around they just never stop coming... Kinda reminds me of that funny video "The Horribly Slow Murderer with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon"
And if 7 wasnt enough already theres a dude that completed the game 100+ times and it makes u wonder if the Watchers are actually killing themselves to cleanse the abyss or their sanity away lol
I was missing this game and The Abyss Watchers is my favorite Lord of Cinder battle. I wanted a video that would have extended play-- a chance to see all phases for a while, a chance to listen to the best song on the OST, but also, someone who didn't skip the cutscenes. You hit all the marks with this video. Thank you.
Damn! That was smooth as hell! There was at least a dozen times in the second half where I was 100% sure he would have nicked you, but you dodged and weaved every time! Super impressive
phase two is a bit like Jackass episode when they would go face to face with the Jet engine on an afterburner :D I know there's no such episode. but that video is still quality. hats off
i've been trying the abyss watchers for a few days now, and I just cant seem to get them. one thing i did notice was that you avoid most of the attacks in phase 2, and only swoop in when you see a jumping attack. I will try to see if this works, will update you!
Yeah, against this boss the safest approach is to keep your distance and wait for an opening when the boss has a long recovery after an attack and can't follow it up with another attack immediately after. Watchers don't have poise so they can be stunlocked with attacks pretty easily for big damage.

wait, I thought this was a no damage run, don't you get hit at 4:40? the abyss watcher's sword swings right through you and the blood spill sound effect goes off
My attack staggered the watcher before his attack connected and canceled his attack animation, the flaming trail was from his hand flinching after being hit and the blood effect was from the watchers' leg :-) If I had taken any damage during the fight it would have killed me since I was using RTSR.
What scares me isn’t the fact that you did this on new game plus with a soul level of zero, or the fact that she did this the same year the game came out, but I didn’t see the green blood pool, which means you did this on your first fucking try!
Uh, not exactly :-D I wanted to make these boss fights a little more cinematic with no extra clutter on the screen, which is why I disabled the interface and also if I died, I'd first go and pick up my souls before attempting the fight again, so that there's no distracting green pool on the floor :-) That being said, I think this is one of the easiest bosses in the game to kill without taking damage, so it wouldn't surprise me if I actually did do it on the first attempt back then.
? Abyss watchers are a mid-game boss though, the first lord you can actually kill. And honestly, they still have too little health to feel hard. Like, interesting at best
I'm not sure how much they are aware of the whole linking if flame process at all. Not to mention, any individual Watcher's soul doesn't seem to be enough to link the fire, only after all of them merge into one powerful soul does it become sufficient sacrifice for the linking ceremony. Maybe that's why they are fighting each other in the first place (at least the ones that aren't corrupted yet), kinda like Highlander - only one should remain, so that his/her souls is strong enough.

This video made me sure that this boss was bugging on my system. 90% of the attacks that you dodges in phase 2 would hit me from the same distance. Meaning hitboxes were totally off. Also, your abyssal watcher has backstab windows... mine was NEVER stopping attacking. xd such BS
lol your system isnt bugging, he just makes this look easy.... it looks like all you have to do is walk up and backstab them but hes only able to pull this off because his positioning is perfect.
I just thought it looks cleaner without all the unnecessary bars on the screen since it's more about tactics than about numbers, but a lot of people seem to like seeing hp bar of bosses so I probably should have left it visible.
Coming back here just to clean with bleach the horrible taste of the awful bosses of Elden Ring. If we compare this masterpiece with the pure garbage of Godskin Duo, it would seem these games were made by two different companies. What a waste FromSoft, from DS3 to... that. Anyways, well done, my boy. You are a beast!
I think ER has some really good bosses, but yeah, the majority are really forgettable and not particularly interesting to properly "duel", rather it's as if you're expected to cheese them with summons/ranged attacks/co-op/etc.
@@GoldenSilverYT That's exactly my point. Battles like Abyss Watchers or Gael are fairly rare. Some people say Godfrey or Maliketh, but I don't know... I haven't found a single boss in Elden Ring (yet) that makes me feel what those two battles (or even Midir, even if I don't like him that much) made me feel when I fought them.
Right now I'm sitting at 135 deaths against the watchers, if I beat them (and I will) I'll answer this comment. The 2nd most failed boss (First is the Persecutor, 190 tries).
i also couldn't get past the watchers, i tried a lot, but had to give up because i died too many times. my save game then got lost as well. i will try the game again when it comes out on remaster one day

This game's progression and difficulty curve are so good that by the time you reach the end Abyss Watchers are a walk in the park.
