If you’re part of the manufacturing industry today, you’ve probably heard about “digital twin” technology at least a handful of times (read: every frickin’ day). In this episode, Joachim Thomsen - Principal Engineer and Senior Manager Application IP - jumps on the show to demonstrate how Emulate3D is used for testing your control system logic against a dynamic digital twin.
Why is this so important? Because when you leverage Emulate3D correctly, you can reduce your system optimization time from months to a matter of weeks, using your digital twin for virtual commissioning, throughput simulation, and industrial demonstration before your machine or line is physically built.
Joachim shows us how the ControlLogix PLC contains the application code for the system, and how its an extremely close representation of the actual environment. Using your CAD drawings to simulate the system before you start manufacturing the actual equipment, Joachim shows us how to find bottlenecks in the simulated production line. He even takes this a step further by demonstrating how AI builds relationships between different parts of the system to determine line OEE while changing parameters to find better optimizations, allowing you to truly fine-tune your machine before it even hits the plant floor.

Stop yourself from saying "yep" "mhmm" "right" "yes" every 4 seconds. It is a very unprofessionel way to interview somebody.
