Very engaging performance. This piece has such contrast between the powerful and commanding beginning and ending, and the very lively rhythms and lyrical qualities of the middle sections. Superb performance, with a lot of heart and soul.
A superb performance on a wonderful instrument. I had the good fortune of working for Mander Organs for some 14 years. Although I wasn’t involved with the installation of this instrument, I’ve visited St Ignatius on several occasions, and have been around the organ.

Few performances of this work hold together but somehow Louprette makes sense of it all. In the wrong hands this can come across almost as circus music.
It can come across as circus music but I can still imagine this performance, which is the best I’ve encountered, being used in the soundtrack of a Fellini film.
I think the first half of this work is very grand, but the 2nd half seems to be in the weeds.
