Nice to see that Rafa has settled in well at Buckingham Palace
Settled in pretty well

@@Lionsraws66 Really ? I thought it was Buckingham Palace

As aggressive and angry as a lot of fans were when Rafa was appointed, make no mistake - fans gave him enough time and support. His appalling tactics and his total inability to adapt to the situation let him down. It certainly wasn't an easy job and the injury crisis made his life so much harder, but when you have a manager getting rid of key players like James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne, fans were always going to turn on him. Most fans aren't angry at Rafa anymore, they're angry at Moshiri for thinking he knows better and appointing Benitez.
Yeah the attitude after he was appointed was very much "look he's here now let's crack on". The team put out a lot of pre-season footage and player interviews and they were all likeable and motivating. He was a poor appointment, it showed distain/disregard from the board/chairman for fans, and with the club being in such a mess internally (by all reports) it was just an awful choice.
I really don't know what the board thought the fans were supposed to think about it all, or how they were supposed to feel good about the future of the club during is tenure.
James was an expensive liability regularly injured and deservedly move on,. Everton had to sell Digne for £30 million to buy Vitalii Mykolenko (£21m) and Nathan Patterson (£12m). Rafa bought 5 players four of them have been very good buys. Your focus should be on how the owners allowed the management to spend £600m on complete dross.
Absolute rubbish, you guys love Lampard because he is essentially not Rafa. He has spent more than Rafa and is near the botton, yet you sing his name like a hero. Your team is going down and I can't wait for it
@@sulaak Farhad Moshiri has had a lot of verbal abuse thrown over the years and rightly so. As I said fans are still angry at him, but we’ve just had an exceptional transfer window given the FFP constraints. You are also mistaken. We didn’t sell Lucas Digne to get Mykolenko - We got Mykolenko because Rafa and Lucas Digne fell out badly and essentially forced him out the club. James Rodrigues was removed from the club for reasons which I understand, but we didn’t replace him at all for an entire year. This idea that you can do a couple things right like get Patterson and Mykolenko in and suddenly we can just forget about the terrible form and style of play is not something Evertonians are going to subscribe to.
@@dozz87 10th place, 2nd best defense in the league. I think Everton are actually playing very well, especially just Beating hammers who have a superior team. Frank Lampard is the man for the job.
Rafa was always gonna have a hard time at goodison. As a reds fan it was clear to see that not all the blues were gonna get behind him and rightly so. He had to deal with injuries and the pressure from the fans and sadly didnt deliver. He's still a great manager, i just think he underestimated the job he had on his hands
As a Newcastle Fan, I can't lie that I loved having Rafa as our manager. We took to him as we had clowns in charge for years, Like Pards, Caver and Wally Brolly. I never understood why he took the Everton job considering his Liverpool past and the fact that he called Everton in his own words a "small club" That is never going to wash.
Don't get me wrong, Rafa made mistakes at Newcastle and the football was defensive however the thing is prior to Rafa being manager, we never could defend or had a game plan. His best days are behind him but he should never have got the Everton job, It was never going to work.
Massive mistakes in the transfer window. Selling Toney, Armstrong and Mbabu for peanuts and moving Mitro on. Then buying players who he didn't even trust enough to pick them. I don't understand why he's remembered so fondly after such terrible decisions that damaged the club financially not to mention the squad.
@@Buckblacket rafa's not negotiating fees for players 🤡, and the budget for players was low under the previous regime at that time
@@DeterminedFC are you saying he didn't even chose the players who were brought in under his management and he had no control? If that's true, how is it he was able to insist to Ashley he didn't want Joelinton because he thought he wasn't worth the money even though Ashley agreed to cover the cost of the transfer independently of the agreed budget? Look at the money he wasted on players he wouldn't even use like Lazaar, Sels, Gamez and Muto to mention but a few? You clearly have no clue about the club have you?
@@Buckblacket am i saying something completely different to what i typed ?...what kinda of stupid question is that ..are you dumb ,slow or stupid ....
you said he sold players for" peanuts" ...the amount players are sold for is nothing to do with him or any manger in the prem 🤡

Idk what Everton fans expected with that garbage squad of theirs. They should’ve been relegated.
This interview is damage control. He's doing it to get back in the spotlight to give him a decent chance of getting another Premier League job
His tactics are outdated, that’s the main issue injuries didn’t help at all but his tactics are old and tbf he had next to no budget. only Unsworth is worse as far as managers go for Everton in the past 10 years.
His tactics seemed fine when you had no injuries and were flying, injuries cost him, and the fact that he got 0 money
For comparison, he got 0 signings other than Gray (who has been great value) and then had injuries to almost every key player while having to lose Rodriguez
Stats wise, Rafa has a better points per game than lampard for Everton, and Lampard had had way more backing with players and less injuries
@@Pjj878 his tactics are outdated and he isn’t a good man manager, Lampard got the best of players like Iwobi and Gordon while Rafa had them both on the bench.
@@Pjj878 Everton are a small club and the fans think they deserve better. Wel now they got Lampard 😂😊

Im not an Everton fan.
But this guy got rid of a couple of guys he didn't like(IMO) that could have helped the team. Also tactically he wasn't flexible.
This man will forever be a Liverpool icon for what he achieved in Istanbul
He did nothing in Istanbul
Absolutely nothing laa
Not bigger than Klopp
Football is such fine margins, Everton were flying and doing well under Rafa before the massive catastrophic injuries
After that sure he didn't recover at all but the fans had already turned on him and the important players were slow to recover. It's not like Rafa has gone and they're amazing all of a sudden is it, and Mykolenko looks good too
This man sold James & Digne and signed Rondon. His downfall was of his own making.
Rafa's job interview for the Bournemouth or Leicester City job went well😁
I'm shocked he lasted as long as he did, I thought he had for sure blown his cover when he signed Rondon😭😭
No, it was difficult because he's useless.
Binned off James & Digne, signed El Ghazi but didn't play him, created a toxic atmosphere with the players, insisted on constantly playing Rondon (despite his terrible form), refused to change his tactics even when they weren't working & constantly played defensively despite doing nothing to fix the appalling defence.
Richardlinson and DCL were both injured he had no choice but to play Rondon. would you rather have Digne in place of Vitalii Mykolenko (£21m) and Nathan Patterson (12.4m)
He literally just coherently explained that a deep analysis is undertaken of players and injury history and team selection reflefts this in depth analysis so why dont you fathom in your small brain that rafa the champions league winning manager (who was actually managing the team!!!) might of known something you didnt or have a reason behind his team selection that isnt obvious to the layman
@@Smilejustsmilebby He was obviously mistaken in his "deep analysis".
He insisted on using outdated tactics & refused to adapt when they failed to produce results.
It's no coincidence that results improved massively under Lampard.
@@mrtom2854 well everton look like sh*t this season from where im standing 1 win. So i dont know where this dramatic change of form is. Didnt rafa start off well then taper off for reasons he just explained..how dense do you have to be. Outdated tactics they say, as if theres just one set of tactics to be used at all times. You probably dont even know or understand his philosophy or what he is intending to create on the pitch and just parrot that its outdated. They are only outdated when you lose but when you won they werent. But ok whatever you say tom beattie im sure you know much better and more about football than rafa.
As an Everton fan I never blamed Rafa. He had good intentions but the board just got loads wrong. For example, it was known he and Digne had a falling out. Now the board sold Digne and it was a sign of standing by the manager but then they sacked Rafa about 2 weeks later. Makes no sense. Lampard is building a strong team now though so the past is the past.
he was to blame too
He couldn't organise a defence. How is that not his fault? We also conceded so many from set pieces. If he made our defence as solid as he did Newcastle's then we'd be eeeking out 0 0s and 1 0 wins, that would've been fine.
Rafa peaked at Valencia and Liverpool.

Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. That is Darren Farley sat there 😊
As an Evertonian, if the fans don’t like a manager neither will the players, that emotion filters through, it’s instantaneous with EFC other teams take longer like Man U fans and Van Gaal, LFC and Roy Hodgson these teams took ages to realise how crap the managers were, took blues fans 5 seconds after hearing Rafa was being considered….Rafa out!!
Nice to see Farley settle in at the palace.
He'll be Nottingham Forest Manager in January.
I wonder if Mr Farley is going to do his take
He definitely sits on the other side of that table when he plays chess

Everton are going down to Championship with Frank Lampard

Everton clearly didn’t work for both parties for a lot of reasons, but Everton in general have a lot problems, pre and post Rafa, let’s be serious. He may not be one of the best managers anymore but he would still do a good job for a club, just needs to be the right fit for him and the club
We’re in much better knick now. Granted we still have problems but we’re 5 games undefeated and having brought some very smart signings we will for sure be much better than last season. So post Rafa I think we’re fine and we have the right man in charge for what we are right now. Rafa Benitez was never the right person for this club and was a mistake bringing him in

he did one hell of a job
As soon as you got it tactically wrong you threw the players under the bus and then proceed to blame anything and everything but yourself. Lampard's biggest challenge last season was undoing the mental damage you did to the group. Staying up last season felt like it was in spite of you, the media and what seemed like every other fan base in the country who couldn't believe their messiah had been betrayed. What a man
Rafa made a mistake of coaching Everton but I hear he called them a small club
He wanted to take them down
Majority of Everton fans gave Rafa Benitez more than enough time to settle in and backed him for as long as possible. Persisting with Salomon Rondon upfront, his stubbornness and inept tactics were his downfall. That isn't even mentioning that he pushed out 2 key players from the previous season in Lucas Digne and James Rodriguez because they didn't agree with him. That would make total sense
He must be looking for a new job when he’s playing the whole ‘woe is me’ charade. The worst manager in Everton history who loves to blame all the other factors around him instead of himself. Rips up the medical department and we have unprecedented injuries all season, sells James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne out of pure personal spite, nothing else. Takes over the transfers because he’s a dinosaur who is incapable of working with a director of football who eventually resigns. Also, this notion that because he was a red it wasn’t going to work out is utter garbage, it’s the fact you won 1 game of football out of 14 between September and January. No manager on Earth survives a run of form like that. Have a look in the mirror Rafa.
Lampard deserves serious credit for picking that squad up off the canvas and keeping them in the league.
