Leon's accompanist was named Joan Hill, an amazing pianist, lyricist and musician in her own right. Among other achievements, she devised the Tapa-Scatamatic-Bebop System of Tap Notation and very funny lyrics to "Afternoon of a Faun" by Debussy. She and Leon were both inspirations to me and I was so lucky to have them in my life!
