I was into swing dancing like this when I was younger. I was all into the Andrew Sisters’ “In the Mood” with my partner Sandra. All the kids loved watching us practice and some of the teachers, too! We had it down, pat!!!
But rock and roll wasn’t considered good “music” or good dancing back in the 50s. It was only embraced by the young folks and the older generations would judge it because 1. It talked about taboo topics like sex, drugs, etc 2 the dancing they thought was to sensual and inappropriate 3 at concerts people weren’t segregated. So I don’t think it’s fair to call what the younger generations are embracing not music or not dancing bc in a few years maybe it seen similarly to how people see rock n roll rn
