    Have you ever thought of doing a series on the plants of North America? That would be so wonderful for us North Americans. Canadians, Mexicans and USA! We do grow many, many Australian plants here.🤠Love you guys💞

      It's even larger than it seems as we didn't visit huge bits of it. Regards Stephen

    New subscribers here. Hello from Virginia 🇺🇸. I have a big cutting garden it takes me so much work. I can’t imagine how much work that place takes 😮.

      Well interestingly....it is just largely left to it's own devices! Lawn mowing and hedge trimming mostly. It is a huge place and just the two of them with no help - it's own magic world!

    Another fantastic video! I love your unusual plant videos but am always delighted when they have plants native to my area! Southern Oregon has lots of amazing plants, probably due to the serpentine soils. I love the streamside monkey flowers - I’ve got a bunch of the red ones in my garden as well!

      Thanks for watching - there's probably a lot of climatic similarities too which help these plants from your area thrive on Ruth & Barry's place!

    Every time you say "we will answer your questions in our Monday shorts" I get a giggle because I picture you in your underwear, emblazoned with the word Monday answering our horticultural questions. 🤣

    We have a Chiranthodendron pentadactylon in our garden in Melbourne . It flowers very well . The tree is around 5 m tall. It was great to meet Matthew last Sunday at the orchid sale in Forest Hill

      Nice to know there are a few of them around as it’s a fabulous tree. I hope Matthew didn’t buy them all! Regards Stephen

    Hello. I’m from the southern Appalachian mountains in North Carolina, United States. A few weeks ago, you had a black tower elderberry on the show. If multiple plants were planted close together, kept tidy, and perhaps tied in together, would that make a good formal hedge? Thank you.

    • @thehorti-culturalists
      @thehorti-culturalists  Před 5 měsíci

      I doubt it would ever make a particularly formal hedge but a slightly rough and ready one. Regards Stephen
