I was also like you in my 20’s but with age and exposure gained knowledge and changed my habits. When I get tempted to buy not needed clothes or handbags , I immediately donate money ( pay someone’s school fee or buy electronic item fir their online education or buy groceries and donate in food banks )

That’s fine, sometimes people only like feedback that seconds their behaviour or habits. As long as her children do sone research on what are top causes of global warming and how fast fashion contributes to this , I am happy . Sometimes when we live in a closed environment with little exposure people don’t know what’s happening around us and how we are impacting our world.
Don't think other wise they also doing one kind of service by buying all these from sellers encouraging their business and other side they are enjoying doing this, any way your aspect is different may be right

There is a reason for this , the world needs countries , people to me more responsible todays Mother Earth . Our bad habits have played sone part in the natural disasters to become more rampant and severe.
Can we acsept that we had contributed in sone form towards the suffering of the people in Turkey and Syria.
Businesses come where there is opportunity. This fast fashion and more scarcely single use culture ( where people dine repeate an outfit for parties with same relatives etc ) is very bad for the environment and fir our own Childrens future. Can any of us image our own children going through what people are going through in Turkey right now?
Aunty is not a bad person , she could have deleted my comment, but she didn’t and we can have a discussion and sone good might come out of it . Even if am able to change the mindset of a few family that’s a few generations there.
I too have a lot to change and learn. Beauty products are another big pollution if not made responsibly . When I got the awareness and money to buy ethically sourced and environmentally friendly products I buy them.
Influencers have an impact on mindsets of naive people, so it’s a responsible job to be done thoughtfully.
