I love these off-road videos. I could watch them all day. For a 4runner Sport with no locker it did pretty well.
I love how your buddy is correcting throughout the video. Lol
Thanks for the video
A Must have Tire when driving here in San Diego County's Streets, Beaches, Mountains, Snow, Deserts & back all in the same afternoon 🌅🌴🏔️❄️⛄🏞️🏜️🔥🌵🐍
Running these Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my '21 Tacoma OffRoad 265 75/R16 . Light off roading and snow during winter. I luv em
I’m definitely going to try them out. I had really good luck with nitto terra grappler g2’s and run 10ply E rated tires.
Great vid! You guys know your stuff too thanks for the help!
It would be cool to see a snow bias tire that performs well in these exact conditions. I'm moving to back to Richmond, VA during February. My 06 Tundra ran Dueler A/Ts, combined w/ the 4x4 system it was more than enough for highway travel back and forth to NY. Now my GX470 is my overlander on Cooper ATPs. We'll see, great video. Nice rig. Look forward to more comparisons
My truck had that issue turned out to be the alternator. Replaced the alternator and no problems since.
You should go far in life. You are a great channel host. I just hope that you get the opportunity to do more high budget, more well funded productions as time goes on. You're very professional.
Good looking 4Runner. I have a 2012. They're great rigs.
I have 17 f250 6.7 diesel, stock was Goodyear Wrangler. Almost wrecked in snow. Paid extra money for the Ridge Grapplers and could not be happier!
Northern KY winter
35x12.50s?
damn fine job! keep up the good work!
Thanks DAD!!😉
Put some True Trac diff,s in the front and rear, would really help out when your axles are crossed up 👍
He has been talking about lockers for a long time! I think we may have finally convinced him!
You need to air down to properly use these tires. I've got 34OD grapplers and they perform like ass at 35-40psi but amazing at 15-18psi.
The bulge and flex of sidewalls play such an important role in increasing footprint and traction. At 40 PSI, you might as well be using 50% of the tire's capability.
Awesome vid man, I also checked the spark plugs and they are the same as yours.
Awesome, thanks for letting us know!
2003 4runner reppin ridge grapplers too 🤙
Sweet runner 👍🏼
Your like the Toyo A/T trail. I have a diesel truck and there a great tire. There great in snow and ice too. There is a slight hum with them but not bad. There a 2 ply sidewall, so they give you a good ride comfort.
I love these tires. I have them on my Tundra TRD Pro Double cab. I run a 285/70/18. Since I have a 4.30 rear end they do not impact my mpg at all.
Do you have any mods on your vehicle? I plan on getting them as well on my Tundra and I’m worried they may rub
Good review, guys.
How many miles on them now and what’s your opinion of the tires now?
Listen ,I have been researching tires for about a year . Reading reviews and watching videos . They are expensive ,but i wanted the best HYBRID TIRES ,so i took a chance.......and they are awesome !!! Fit ,aggressive look ,and super quite . Exactly what I was looking for . NITTO RIDGE GRAPPLER
Thanks for letting us know! There are so many tire options out there now!
How are they in the snow like for daily driving ?
Do you guys think could help me out here.. to purchase ridge grappler and ship over to me ? 👍👍
Rondell What did You put these on? I have a Ford Excursion trying to figure out what tires to put on it...
id like to see someone test the sidewall depth of these tires side to side with 65,70, and 75s. i know this would be difficult for one person by themselves but I never see anyone talk about how the sidewall depth impacts traction. Maybe it's not enough difference to run side by sides? idk.
more relevant, thanks for the video!
Did you have ATRAC engaged and the center diff locked up when trying that hill?
If you did you lift the same time as these tires that could be why you have your "electrical issue" You may have stretched your ABS cable to your wheels and will need to replace the harness.
real world testing...explained right off that you guys didn't air down, so people can decide for themselves if that could make a difference. good job and thx.
I've always found wider tires do worse in snow and rain, but better in mud. Looking to replace my michelin at2s with these.
I just went from KO2's to the Ridge Grapplers and Im very happy so far.
I'm glad I seen this video. I was gonna buy some of these. That's why I watched this video. I will not buy these now. Thank you for saving me from buying these tires!
I would recommend the Felken wild peaks Atw3s. I have them on my tundra. They are fairly cheap on a 20 inch wheel they do awesome in deep snow and they perform great on mud or wet roads! Very little noise as well. I’m trying to find a reasonably cheap tire that works just as good as the Felken but a bit more aggressive. I’ve wanted to try the Duratracs but I’ve heard bad reviews and I’ve heard they like to feather bad if you don’t rotate often.
I used to run the Falken until I had a couple blowouts due to thin sidewall. Ran KO2's and now Ridge Grapplers and boy Im liking the Ridge Grapples !!!
I run em. So far so good.
Dang!!! I miss VA!!! I'm from Mechanicsville... yall out in the new river valley or something? I got a 03 super crew on 35s I'd love to bring out there and do some trail ridin with yall
I live in Covington va 27 years now
Cooper Discover S/T LT285/70R17.....had em for 4 years now ( 41k ) and still have about 3k left. That being said, these are the BEST ALL-TERRAIN tire I have ever had. Great road wear, and absolutely AWESOME off-road!!! Mud, they dug me out of just about everything I put them in and when we got 10" of snow, I was pushing it with my bumper where it had drifted.....too bad Cooper don't make them anymore!!!!!
They make the stt pro tires and the r even better!!!!
@@michaelburke2824 Yes,but the STT pro tires are designated mud tires. Whereas the S/T are an all-terrain. Do you have a set of STT pros?
Get the STT Maxx which is the new AT tire from Cooper, they are awesome.
@@bear24D
I hate mine, terrible in the snow and wear unevenly. Going back to terra grappler g2’s which I’ve had great experiences with or maybe trying ridge grapplers.
Are they good on snow compared to the ko2
They seem to work but I think I’ll stick with BFG for the snowy and ice roads. And just change to MT for the summer.
Love to see a head to head comp between these tires and KO2's!
T Mon kos eat up these tires.... rough rock and gravel will eat grapplers alive... same and same ko2 would win
@@lagoonrd4173 I figured, lol. I run KO2s. The snowflake symbol is important, I drive in the Sierra's in the winter and if there is level 2 chain controls, I get a pass at the checkpoint. Level 3, chains are mandatory regardless of tires. Thanks!
No comparison. I have both. KO2 Tops on high mountain winter driving
I had 34” ridge grapplers on my ‘16 f-150 with a 3 inch leveling kit, got stuck in 4 inches of snow. Now I have 35” ko2s and I get through EVERYTHING
Ot the tire, its the ford lol
@@missaelhernandezurdiano9423no it’s obviously the driver….4” of snow,come on man!
I have 2010 f150 35” ridge grapplers and also 3” leveling kit I feel they suck in the snow
has he had any exhaust work done? I have a 2005 4Runner v8 and love the sound of his
Yes both of the stock mufflers are removed and replaced my a magnaflow muffler. He also runs a K&N Cold Air Intake, which really helps out the sound!
Just put 35” ridge grapps on my truck and it is definitely a heavy tire. Dropped about 2-3 mpg average
No Low Lock? OUCH! I'm happy with my Cooper Discoverer A/T3. The new ones are even better (XLTs)!
Do another test with at least limited slip in the rear.
I was surprised how my Taco climbs steep hills covered in snow using the crawl control! Even with the at tires!
It is a very intelligent system!
Where in va are you cruising in the woods???
I think was a great video!
Had some for about a week and returned them. Not good over 75 mph on road, and not that good in mud. Looked good though...
Great video.
Great video! I currently have the KO2s and love them. However, considering the Ridge Grapplers solely for their looks. It’s a tough call considering they are $100 more than KO2s per tire.
Hey so did you change? I have Ko2s too, and was thinking of changing them up.
@@tperry8130 I did. In comparison, the RGs make a little more noise but not as stiff. They also have better traction in dry and wet. I have 7000 miles on them now and appear to be wearing faster than the KO2s. The RGs were about $300 more than the KO2s for a set of 4. All in all, great tire but if I need tires again, I will likely go back to the KO2s
@@sliceoflife8996 Alright thanks for your response back. As much as I want to change them up this spring. Money wise, you convinced me just doesn't seem like a great idea. I will stick with the Ko2s.
I ended up getting a set on my trail boss. All I’ve heard is horror stories about how bad they are in snow. We usually don’t get that much and I’ve got chains so I’m not too worried.
I'm running Ridge Grapplers on my Ultd Rubicon and my wife runs Duratracs on her TJ... both 35". The Goodyears are definitely better on snow and ice.
Is there a follow up review of these tires? Especially as they compare to the KO2's?
Thank you for all of the kind words, I really appreciate it! We haven't had a chance to do a follow up video yet, but I can tell you that Briggs did have KO2s on the 4runner before the Nittos. The Nittos are certainly more aggressive, better in mud, and still quiet on the road. He was able to get 50k miles from the KO2s before switching and was happy with them in a variety of driving conditions. I have seen the quality of some BFG tires slip in the past few years though. Thanks for watching, I hope you consider subscribing. Happy trails!
I've got a 07 v8 4runner sports edition and can't decide between these or the cooper stt pro!! I live in Wisconsin so the tires have to excel in snow and heavy rain. Also, did the 03-05 v8 4R not have a locking center diff? My 07 does.
Same here!! I live in Indiana but I'm from the UP, so I'm driving through Wisconsin a few times a year. I want a tire that is going to do well on the snow/slush crap we get during winter. Anything that does well on that should be able to handle some rocky gravel roads! After a ton of research I've narrowed it down to 3 tires. The Milestar Patagonias MT, the Yokohama Goelandar MT G003, and Cooper MTP. My goal is to find a tire that can tackle everything winter throws at us, but still is relatively quiet on the road.
I used to live in Madison, now the Twin Cities. My 03 Sport has 31” Bridgestone Revo 3’s. They are very good in snow and ice. FYI...
Duratrac tires, 1 to 2 feet of snow in Michigan no problem.
I had them on my tundra pro 2015.. i live in MN and i was not having a good time with them. Our midwest winter just sucks. I just went out and got winter tires. Lol
Duratrac 15 PSI drive all day , whether sand dunes in South Utah, or Snow North of New Mexico or Colorado!!!!!
@@oscarcanelo6262 yeah in fresh snow its ok. Just in MN it snow and then gets -30 and everything turns into ice on the bottom and snow on top. Its a freaking nightmare. Never know when theres snow or just black ice.
Elliot creek road!! Took it a couple weeks ago
How loud are they and how bad they throw rocks
Did that on my truck and it was the alternator was bad. Just one of many reasons it could be
I would like to see your Taco go up that hill with crawl control!
I certainly need new tires before trying that one! It is one slick hill!
I wanted to get a set of these but after watching this video I'll stick with my KO2
Adventures101 lol
I will stick with my cooper discovery stt pros..nothing agonist 4 runners those r great vehicles but I had a set of ridge grappler and on the road with 6 inch of snow they were ok but off road on hills they just pack up the tread and become slicks. I was unhappy with then for a lot of snow..other than that it's a good tire
How loud are they?
I think your speed sensor is malfunctioning. That’s why your dash goes off , I have the same thing
hey the engine lights did you find out what caused the issue?
It ended up being a faulty alternator that would fluctuate in its charging and confuse the computer system. A new alternator has everything back up and running again!
Didn’t seem like his center diff was locked on that hill climb attempt, thanks for the video I’m checking these tires out for my Titan XD.
You should look at the general grabber at2 I personally run the general grabber at2 and love it I’m from Southwest Virginia and it performs great. Also the General Grabber atx and the x3 are also great too.
Would you choose these over the ko2. In trying to decide which to go with.
I think either would be fine tires! I think there is a good chance that long term the KO2s may be quieter, but these are performing great so far! If I did more off-road driving I would probably get these. More highway and I would lean toward the KO2s.
Joe KO2’s and BFG’s AT and MT tire offerings are just too expensive to be worth it anymore. Many other tires that out perform them, run more true to size, and come in at a much better price point than BFG any more. The original BFG KO/AT’s set the bar a long time ago as a real all terrain tire, with great wear. then they got expensive and other companies came along with better offerings. I wouldn’t put BFG’s on my truck unless the price was cheaper than any other AT, but their price for the performance you get anymore is silly.
@@chevyon37s These Nittos are really not that much cheaper than KO2s and KO2s are probably going to last a few thousand miles more. I would go with whichever tire has the best discount during Memorial/Labor Day sales.
Check the wire and connections from battery to alternator.
Thanks, ended up being a faulty alternator!
Hi guys looking to buy the nitto grapplers G2 can you commend 6 ply or 10 ply more street than off rd but want aggressive look? Every time I get price there either 4,6,,10 ply so not Apple to Apple to see who’s offering best deal on tires thanks
I think the 6 ply/load range C tires would be perfect for mostly on road but still have the ability to go offroad and air down. The 10 ply/load range E ride rougher unless you havea larger vehicle.
Thanks
Is this lost creek road?
Do y’all still like them? I’m in va as well and looking at these for my Nissan Titan
If you definitely plan on off-roading, they are a fine tire. They will rob you of some power and mpg since they are much heavier than a more street-oriented tire.
@@TrailPass All do it hunting and checking the farm and when it’s muddy and snowing I need something that can get me there
I think these would do a great job for your uses!
How do you like the Nitto’s in comparison to the BFG’s
Both seem to be great tires. I can tell you that the BFGs wear very well. Time will tell for the Nittos!
So far I like them better, I only got 37000 out of my KO2's and they were poor in mud and snow, and scary in very wet rainy conditions, they loved to hydroplane.
I wonder how they compare to the Dick Cepek fun country tires? The ones I had did really well all around.
I've got nitto ridge graplers 4 years now nissan titan last great go better than Hankook alterain in snow.that said a cheap mud tire does better in the snow.I was running wild country mudd and they went much better in snow than the expensive nittos.
Did u have center diff lock engaged @6:00?
I didn’t like ridge grapplers in any conditions on my 2500 mega cab. Sold them after 4000 miles. Wet and snow were the worst. Mud was bad, they pack up immediately.
Same here mine were terrible in the snow and ice
Same - I have both. KO2 top confidence in Winter. Like my 37 Ridge Grapplers for Summer
@The94GTC Don't know. I'm not making videos trying to get views. I just need tires that work. Ridge Grapplers look cool and work in dry dirt and hard pack. Look at the tread closely, there is this tiny edge that bites for about 2-3000 miles but it is so shallow it gets worn down immediately and wet snow and mud traction gets even worse. The siping only looked a few mm deep which was probably not helping. Maybe the compound is different on the F-rated 35s? But in my opinion these should say summer use only.
Why didn’t you air down a bit and make it fair for these tires? Are you going to try it again with less air ? Does the truck have LSD?
We will try again with less air in the tires! There is no LSD in the 4Runner, only a center Diff Lock for true 4X4.
Just air down to 10 or 8 psi. No tire will pass this test with 37 psi...
Vcs will cause Speedo not to work . Wheel speed sensors , splices in those wires that go to them or broken wires . They say that will keep the Speedo from not working . Also if you do t get the vsc lights to go off and stay were the Speedo is not working after so long the Speedo will not work at all . That’s what I found them saying on one of the forms on line . I think it said that you would have to replace the main computer . I put 4 new wheel speed sensors / abs sensors along with the front two and one rear wiring harnesses for those sensors . I also replaced the speed sensor on the trans . They say also that they will repeatedly come on until the system figures out how fast the vehicle is actually going . This is do to radar sensors on the front abs sensors that work when you hit something they set the air bag off . Well from what I read they have radar and they help the computer keep you Speedo calibrated after lifting and bigger tires . They say it can take up to around a year of turning the vsc lights off and making sure they stay off each time for more than a day . I’ve been through hell getting mine to stay off . My 2004 4 runner with modified lift 6 in the front 4.5 in the rear 33-12.50 17 milestar Patagonia mud tires . With hand made 3/16 steel rock and stick protectors for the cv axles and front skid plate to match . Then 1/4 steel bottom skid plate to protect engine transmission/transfer case. The factory skid pan for the fuel tank has been beefed up with flat bar 1/4 steel . Great Vedic good luck and have fun .
I got 12 inch lift on 2014 on 40x15.50R26
jeremy greiner mu truck is built for Sema
If that diff wasn’t open those tires would have chewed through that hump like it wasn’t there. Wasn’t a reflection in the tires at all. Still a cool drive, not the kind of snow out west but beautiful land nonetheless.
Wouldn’t a narrower tire be better for snow? I have no clue. I live in Alabama. Just considering physics.
Yes a narrower tire is best. I live in northern NY and run 305s on my truck... Fuck it😂
ADyess086 narrow tires are good in the snow when on the roads, and when in shallow snow. Deep snow you want a wide tire to float on top. We got 22in of snow here in Missouri one year and I had 37x13.5in tires on my truck and when I drove in fresh powder and got going I was only sinking in about 6in and going everywhere.
narrower is better in snow. wide tires looks better in summer
Champuk Bhosle hence HEAVY military trucks... skinny to dig because they’re going to sink anyways. Wide tires do great in mud and snow, with the proper setup in mind. Wide tires for mud to float and paddle across the top more, well suited to lighter rigs. And In snow off road you want wide tires to float, like the Icelandic tundra trucks running 18-24in wide tires, but you want skinny snow tires on the highway to dig to pavement and have a high contact patch pressure.
YOUR RIGHT!!!!
Well, at least we learned this model 4Runner is a certified pos off road!
JeepCherokeeful quadra drive for life
Nothing beats goodyear duratrac in snow. No discussion
Tire pressure way too high! Should be down to closer to the 28-30 PSI range on road all the time, and much less on trails....like 15-18psi.
I assume you guys know how snow "behaves" with tires? The bigger the tread, the worse those tires are in snow. Obviously some summer slicks are bad as well, but proper (I mean real winter tires, not Nittos... they're not good for winter) tires make all kinds of snowy roads a cake walk. Since snow against snow creates friction, those all terrains all the way to the muddies are pretty crappy in snow and no go in ice. Then again, I also assume they don't sell real winter tires there, do they?
Hell yeahhhh Virginia
Your alternator problem ?
It did end up being a faulty alternator
Bad regulator
I just bought these for my 3/4 ton ram....my duratracs didn't wear well at all!! Crossing my fingers!!!
the 3/4 ton ram's front end does a huge number on any set of tires you put on it. These will probably wear out faster than the duratracs tbh
@@Ayo-hf9xd yikes!!! Any suggestions?? Or pretty much nothing will last??
@@ShinerBockGirlz You got the turbo diesel I'm guessing over reg v8? Pretty much nothing lasts with the heavier Rams...they're just so torque-y. I would get something that has a tread warranty over the nittos even though the nittos are a good tire. Try toyo rt's
@@Ayo-hf9xd Yea diesel.....my duratracs were trashed in like 20k.....I think nitto has a tire with warranty, ill look into toyos next, see how these are..thanks..

Ended up being a bad alternator, thanks!
Which Nitto's are the best for snow? The EXO's?
Private property?
I know snow isn't to common out there, but from the Colorado perspective those tires are hot garbage based just on what I saw in this video (*in snow. They probably rock elsewhere). Anything"impressive" here likely had more to do with driver skill than the tire. Just don't want you to never know what a good snow tire could be. In their defense, these types of M/T tires (not just this specific one fro Nitto) aren't intended to be good in snow anyway. One look at the siping (or lack thereof in this case) tells us that in advance. But if I lived where you do, I'd care less about snow performance and be able to get a better off road tire like this too.
Can confirm. They are STRAIGHT trash in snow and ice. You just slip and slide all over the place. I bought a used Raptor and these are the tires thats on there and I’m changing them as soon as possible, just was looking to confirm was it me or the tires.
Does your buddy with the white 4th gen have a page?
No, he does not. Sorry
Bandit Off-road No worries anyway to get specs of what is done to his 4Runner
@@361Gonzo easiest way would be on instagram @daddybriggs
I wonder if putting it in four low was the best choice. Doesn’t this vehicle have traction control that is helpful in loose terrain, but is disabled in four low?
We've had mixed results with traction control and Toyota's TRAC system. Sometimes it seems that wheel speed is the answer to overcoming obstacles.
dura tracs are the best in snow that ive seen
these tires look good but they are trash tires. I bought a set less then a year ago and only had 600 miles on them. they are really bad with rain, gravel road, and worst in snow. I am going to trash these tires this weekend. I still want my truck, these tires almost took me off road into the ditch many times.
Tighten the gas cap
THAT'S PRETTY FUNNY
Dude sounds like a tv news reporter lol
Coming at you from a very snowy Christiansburg, Virginia!

Sadly, no offense to the channel owners, most people have no idea how to wheel in the snow. This include these guys. The snow is the trickiest because of how variable it can be. If the temp raises or lowers just a few degrees then the snow also changes. No need for lockers either. Saying that is the reason you couldnt make it here or there is simply an excuse. The biggest mistakes people make in the snow:
1) Too much throttle. It's not mud. It's not tarmac. The less throttle the better in snow. At least when you are trying to climb something steep and snow isnt packing well.
2) Air down properly. Most people dont air down at all, however plenty of folks just dont do it properly. There is debate on whether steel is better than aluminum at holding bead with low pressures. Just dont air down below 5psi without bead locks and be aware when the snow freezes or your driving in someone's tracks with shorter/longer wheel base or narrow/wider track width, these things will pull your tires left and right and make them prone to losing bead.
3) Automatics are terrible...... for wheeling in the snow. Personally to me, they are terrible for wheeling in general but I digress. You dont need lockers to get up a hill. Usually the hardest part of a snowy hill climb is gravity combined with low traction equals PIA. With an automatic you have to wait for the TC to engage for movement to begin and for that you need rpm to build up. If for example yours doesnt engage till 1000rpm your looking at wheel spin immediately. The nice thing about a manual is the ability to either ride the clutch for very low rpm engagement or rocking your vehicle (fucking your truck as we call it) release the clutch to engage motion then immediately releasing at the Crest of your forward motion rocking back and hitting it again till you pop over the Crest to break fresh trail.
4) Snow changes. If the temp is say, 38 degrees and the snow is wet and heavy, chances are it will be a little sloppy and slick. If the temp drops to between 34 and 36 it will pack nicely and you will feel like a wheeling God. If it drops to 32 or below it will develop a crust on top and turn to powdered sugar below and net you zero compaction rendering you mostly useless in a climb.
Adapt and overcome. Putting it to the wood everywhere you go is fun and makes for entertaining video but wheeling.... (regardless of lift, tires, lockers, suspension, go fast stripes, or ambient air intakes)... is 90 percent driver and 10 percent vehicle. Experience is king. Not to toot my own horn but I would be willing to bet a round of beers that I could take a stock carburated pickup from the 80s farther than 74 percent of the population owning lifted, new fangled, advanced trac, front and rear e-lockers, insert bell or whistle here.
So do u cut and paste this on every off road vid? Neat hobby
Hey everyone, we found the master of 4x4 in the snow!!! You are so AWESOME!! 🙄
I’m really surprised how poorly the 4 runner did in little snow!
The leaf litter under the snow makes for very slippery conditions! There is no way my tacoma could have made it up there with stock tires either! We will have to keep trying!
Definitely the tire not the car
@@edbowejr6130 I'm thinking it's the weight of the 4runner. Not heavy enough to deal with all terrain. Put these tires on a Tundra and you'd be going over "Ridge" with these Grapplers.
I Bought a set October 2018 and put on my 2016 GMC Denali HD Duramax it is now January I have had four tires replaced from belts that have broke on them. Just got 12 + inches of snow and these tires are horrible in heavy snow. In contact with the Nitto trying to get a full refund on these. I purchased these from tirebuyer.com and they have stood by Nittos product amazingly. Not one question both times I had problems they replace the tires and I had them the next day.they said if this happens again they will give me a full refund and take care of talking to Nitto. I had ko2s on the truck from since it was new and they would go anywhere they would have climbed the hill with the leafs that you just tried to go up. I would never buy these ridge grapplers again or recommend these to anyone!! Tires are 35 x 11.50 x 20. Expensive junk!!
Atrac wasnt working then, after briggs fixed it, it should make it up much further
I think the Ridge Grapplers suck, I have a vibration I cannot get balanced out, been balanced 5 times. I also think they ride hard over road cracks at lower speeds.
295 is not 34", it's right at 33" and a little less than 12" wide
@@dom00000 when increasing the first number while keeping the second the same you will gain height also
295 = width in MM: /70 = 70% of 295mm: R17 = 17" wheel diameter. However, every single manufacture's molds have slight size variations so always go by what the manufacture lists the tire size as on the parent website or info. Do not rely on 3rd party sizing.
@@BeardedDaddyD yeah that's a good reference for approximate sizing. Actual sizing can vary across brands though and it's always best to just refer to the manufacturer for actual size. At my service department we stock, coopers, bfgs, toyos, nittos, Goodyear's Fuel, and none of them are the same size in the same size categories lol. Example all the 285/70R17 sized tires are all different sizes. The Goodyear Duratracs tend to be almost a full 1 inch taller than the BFGS ko2s once inflated on the 285/70R17 size. So one companies "33" inch tall tire might actually only be a 32 and another companies "33" inch tall tire might be closer to 33.5 *cough* nitto *cough*
