I started cooking more this year, and it's been such an absolute joy. I'm enjoying it more than I ever thought I would, and I really love sharing the food I cook with people. A few weeks ago I made Okonomiyaki for the first time and absolutely fell in love with it. I have a roommate who is my friend, but I feel us falling apart a bit lately. The night I made Okonomiyaki, I offered him some, and he declined (he's historically an incredibly picky eater), and he said he "wasn't in the mood to try something new" and made himself some frozen Ravioli. I ate mine, enjoyed the hell out of it, but was a little sad I couldn't share it. When you made some for your cousin, who had never had it before, and his face lit up, and was so happy about how good it was, I teared up, wishing I could have had that experience, but also, I know how powerful sharing good, homecooked food like that can be. I'm so happy you got to experience that, and that your cousin liked it so much. This was such a beautiful video, Nick. And let me vicariously experience something I didn't have a chance to. I have since cooked Okonomiyaki for my girlfriend, so I did eventually get to share it with someone who loved it, but I still wish I could convince my friend to try new things, and let me share my food with him. Anyway, thanks for reading this, if you did (whoever you may be). And eat the food your friends and family make.
I feel like when you get angry at Pokémon Go, this is the content you love to create. Thank you for creating content you enjoy, because I enjoy to watch :) I missed the Van!!!
I am really glad that you decided to take the time to edit this and show it to us. We missed your camping adventures. with or without pokemon. Hope to see you out there again soon. i think I will go back and watch the celebi and noibat videos again. They were so amazing. I watch them again and again.
I am a bicycle camper, so my cooking kit is much more minimal, but your are absolutely correct that food tastes better outdoors. When I was experimenting with different camp stoves and whatnot, I would test out my new stove designs on the porch. Our kids would gather around on the porch to call dibs on my camp-stove-made pancakes and chicken pasta. Sometimes they would even tell my wife and me that they wanted camp food for dinner.
Nick, I love this content from you man. I found you playing PoGO but since I have cut back I do not catch those videos often. Thanks for making this and if you ever pass thru the Brookings, OR area we would love to show you around.
That is definitely the first time I've seen a square shaped okonomiyaki!! That is skill though flipping it in that small pan! Looked really good too. Great videography as always! :)
You should look into a small 5lb refillable propane tank and the adapter. It's about the same price to refill as 1 of the 1lb bottles and you don't have to deal with disposing of the coleman tanks.
I thought I was being recommended to this video because of the okonomiyaki. Nope! I didn’t realize it was you! You combined several of my favorite things: the great outdoors, Oregon, okonomiyaki. I have even been on that trail - I recognized it. Great video, Nick! I loved it. 🥰
Fun to see you out in the camper again Nick. I'm looking forward to more travel adventures as the weather improves. After a couple years mostly staying home, the furthest we have traveled was Seattle for the Pokémon Go Fest.
Great job with this video. I think it's also worth considering doing this style of content without music. Just the sounds of the cooking, the camping, nature. I fully believe you have a good creative set of muscles to make that style work when taking into consideration your shots. (Considering how many bits were seemingly built with audio like that in mind.)
I loved watching this video, it was so relaxing and calming! Such lovely content. I've not seen your trailer content in a while, I loved watching you spruce it up :)
Thank you for sharing this with us, it looks soooooo enjoyable. I am not well enough these days to go camping or hiking, but watching you guys in videos like this brings me joy. Forest bathing is so important!
