The real sauce to the dance and this is coming from an OG that has danced in the NYC Slasa/Mambo clubs (Copacabana, Latin Quarters, Wild Palms, Jimmy's Bronx Cafe, Windows over Harlem, and Orchard Beach) is to be able to turn on a dime and have change left over, especially dancing on a crowded dance floor that involves partner turning. Tight short condensed syncopated footwork, with finesse and swag is impressive, without bumping into other dancers on a crowded dance floor because you have to protect your partner who is most important.
