ภัทร หนุ่มทะเล้น กากเกรียน และ ปราณ หนุ่มเนี้ยบ มาดคุณชาย ผู้ที่ถูกฟ้าลิขิตให้เป็นศัตรูกันตั้งแต่ยังไม่เห็นหน้า เพราะพ่อแม่เปิดร้านอุปกรณ์ก่อสร้างอยู่ข้างกัน แข่งกันตัดราคา แย่งลูกน้อง เกลียดกันชนิดไม่เผาผี ทำให้ทั้งคู่ถูกวางตัวเป็นคู่แข่งกันตั้งแต่เกิด ไม่ว่าใครคลานได้ก่อน เดินได้ก่อน เรียกพ่อแม่ได้ก่อน ทุกอย่างล้วนถูกเอามาเปรียบเทียบเกทับกัน
แต่วันหนึ่งตอนที่ทั้งคู่อายุ 12 ปี กำแพงความเกลียดชังของทั้งคู่ก็เริ่มมีรอยร้าว เมื่อ ภา น้องสาวของภัทรขี่จักรยานพลัดตกน้ำในคลองหมู่บ้าน ระหว่างที่ภัทรยังทำอะไรไม่ถูก เป็นปราณที่กระโจนลงน้ำไปช่วยภาขึ้นมา เหตุการณ์นั้นก็ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ของคนทั้งคู่เปลี่ยนไป แม้ภายนอกจะดูเป็นคู่แข่งกันเหมือนเดิม แต่ลึกๆ ข้างในก็ไม่เกลียดชังกันเท่าเดิม
จน ม.3 อาจารย์ให้ทั้งคู่ฟอร์มวงดนตรีด้วยกัน ทำให้ทั้งคู่ต้องใกล้ชิดกันมากขึ้น
4 ปีต่อมา โชคชะตาก็เล่นตลกเมื่อส่งให้ ภัทร เข้าเรียนปี1 เป็นประธานรุ่นฝั่งวิศวะ ขณะที่ ปราณ เป็นประธานรุ่นคณะสถาปัตย์ โดยที่ทั้ง 2 คณะเป็นคู่แค้นกันมานาน ทำให้ภัทรและปราณต้องกลับมาตีกันอีกครั้ง เมื่อภารู้เรื่อง ก็วีนแตก ยื่นคำขาดห้ามภัทรทำร้ายปราณเด็ดขาด เพราะบุญคุณที่เคยช่วยไว้ ทำให้ภัทรไปขอทำข้อตกลงกับปราณว่าจะแอบแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูล เพื่อหาทางหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ให้ทั้ง 2 คณะทะเลาะกัน ปราณเองก็ไม่ชอบมีเรื่องเลยยอมตกลง
ทำให้ทั้งคู่เริ่ม “ความสัมพันธ์แบบลับๆ” ที่จะเป็นเพื่อนก็ไม่ใช่ ศัตรูก็ไม่เชิง แต่บันเทิงใจคนดู
สุดท้ายแล้วมิตรภาพบนความขัดแย้งของภัทรและปราณจะไปสิ้นสุดที่ตรงไหน ความลับจะแตกลงเมื่อไหร่ พ่อแม่จะยอมรับหรือไม่ หรือสุดท้ายจะมีวันที่ความขัดแย้งคลี่คลายหรือไม่

I mean, whenever I think of a Thai drama, especially BL dramas, the two iconic lines that come to mind are "Raikantopeni" and "OISHI HONEY LEMON". I swear, every god damn drama is sponsored by Osihi. Like, the drink is good (although I've only ever tried Honey Lemon), but damn is it funny to see it everywhere. I have yet to try all the chewy versions though. I think I've seen them in a store like once... it's usually the ones without the jelly there.

This is SO accurate for when you first discover your sexuality if you're anything other than straight (which society sees as the default sexuality).
This is how I was with discovering my own love of women. At first I thought I was pansexual because I'd only ever been with a guy, but I was never really attracted to him. I'm now convinced that any "attraction" or "crushes" I've ever had on guys was comphet (compulsory heterosexuality).
It was always short-lived, shallow, and if he did any small thing I didn't like, he was automatically demoted from crush status in my head without the least bit of heartbreak for me.
Women however, VERY different story.

This was my exact experience growing up. I’ve only recently discovered in the last two years that I don’t like men at all. That was almost more confusing since I thought that I had crushes on guys before but I realized I never actually cared about them. I thought I was just being picky and my standards were too high but I never actually liked them in the first place

I loved how Ink immediately clocked that Pa felt overwhelmed by her advances and switched to "just kidding" mode but you could totally see a glint of sadness in her eyes. I'm sure Pa just needs time to process everything, she'll come around. I mean, it's her best and prettiest girl Ink, after all.
I'm in the minority here but I'd like to see Wai get with Pa. I feel he's secretly jealous of Pran and Pat's relationship. Also, the one girl he's head over heels about just happens to be the sister of his mortal enemy. In his mind Pat has his best friend AND the girl of his dreams in his corner while he has no one. I'm sure if he were to start dating Pa we'd see a TOTALLY different Wai emerge.
@@scarpien now, there's no longer hatred between Wai and Pat. They are friends now by the end of this episode. So there's no need for Wai to emerge differently. I don't see any chemistry in WaiPa so I highly doubt that they'll happen. I believe Wai will drive Ink's jealousy to happen. From the beginning, Ink and Pa were always supposed to be pair. Wai and Pa barely spoke for few mins. That's it...I don't think it'll be an endgame. Imagine having only 2 mins of interaction and suddenly getting together. It sounds too rushed. InkPa makes more sense considering more of their multiple interactions.

Llevo solo hasta este episodio y realmente me parece horrible lo que le están haciendo a Pran sus "amigos". Cuando se metieron en la pelea de la parada de autobús, Pran fue el primero en dar ideas, recaudar dinero, diseñar una nueva marquesina y presentarla como proyecto. Junto con ellos hizo todo lo posible para ayudarles porque simplemente eran sus amigos. Ahora uno de ellos revela su relación a todo el mundo y además actúa como víctima, y los otros ni le hablan. I don't like that they did that at all. It's fine with me that they completely changed the story from what is in the book, in fact, in the book, there is no Ink character. Pat admits to being gay several times. Pran is more shy, but he's never been interested in girls, or boys for that matter. Just Pat.
@@bjtwuk So you don't like the changes, or are you fine with it? Genuinely asking. Tbh, being interested in just one person seems unrealistic. Even if you have a crush on one person since young age and you are lucky enough to get with them later on, you would also notice and appreciate one gender or another - or both. There are exceptions of course, but it's rare. So to me personally, I like that they made Pat pansexual, since he was also interested in Ink, but ultimately the one for him was Pran, but like he said: he doesn't mind any gender. And in the show Pran never seemed to have a reaction to a girl, to it's safe to assume he is gay. The only thing he said was "who knows, ONE DAY I may like girls too" and that implies he isn't really attracted to them, but is open to a possibility, theoretically speaking.
Pran is such a comedian! First when he said he liked ink but "as a friend" and when he said he felt nothing after drinking but then started dancing and goofing around with pat's shenanigans I ADORE HIM 😭❤️

P’Aof is didn’t lie when he says that he want to broke the stereotypical of BLs drama that we received alot. Pa shades of ‘I’m straight, I’m only liking this man’ trope and how they talk casually about the sexuality preference is a genius. I’m also loving that they were always showing the PatPran relantionship without the specific of couple role and toxic stereotypical ‘position’. Theres no top or bot, manly or feminine. Only two normal boys having a feeling for each other and dig deeper it.

In the book, Pat is the top and Pran is the bottom. In one of the final chapters, after there is peace between the two families, Pran's father asks Pat, "do I have a son-in-law or a daughter-in-law, or do you switch roles", and Pat says "son-in-law".

Somebody mentioned before that the product placement in Bad Buddy isn’t as cringey and annoying as others and I completely agree! They incorporated the Oishi drink so well to give us a corny and cheesy scene with Pat and Pran! Props to this drama for even making an product placement good!

I think that the Black Inhaler is kind of a disgusting product, to me. Just the idea of sticking something up one's nose in public is kind of gross to me. I'm not really sure why they even needed to have the Oishi drink scene when they had it since there was another part of this episode where Pran walked up to Pat with two generic ice teas.They could have done the Oishi drink then, rather than have two ice tea scenes in the same episode.

I loved that they intentionally mocked the famous BL ideology of “I’m straight but I only like this particular person”, I always felt that by doing that they are disassociating themselves from being LGBTQ+. I’m not a part of the queer community, but it started feeling like BL wanted to profit from the LGBTQ+ community while disregarding its existence, so I get happy when I see such lines that gender doesn’t matter, or that one of our leads always liked boys 😊.
I'm gay/bi and I couldn't agree more. I don't even know if it's deliberate, but I feel like many creators try to distance the series or at least the main characters from the queer community by being vague and/or heteronormative. After all, the BL industry primarily caters to straight girls, so one of the romantic leads is often a stand-in for a female protagonist and the other is rarely stated as being gay/bi/pan. The scene where they talked about their sexualities made me so happy, because it really feels like we're being seen.
I feel like putting the caveat of "I could one day like girls" , devalues just being gay. Sometimes preference is rigid. And at times it can be fluid. But I don't see anything wrong in knowing exactly what you like in terms of sexual attraction.

I just love how Pat and Pran act like they've been a longterm couple for YEARS instead of just a couple of months. Their playfulness will continue to develop, now that they don't have to hide their relationship on campus. Loving the flirtation between Ink and Pa. Ink said that she was "kidding", but I saw a moment of realization that came across Pa's face as she wondered about "what if" she did pursue something with Ink.
