ℹ️ About this episode:
On this episode of LivinRvision, we are going to take a journey through time. To a period when the threat of nuclear war between the U.S. and the former Soviet Union was a reality…the Cold War. It started in 1947 after the end of World War II and lasted to 1991.
For more than two decades, 54 Titan II missile complexes across the United States stood “on alert” 24 hours a day, seven days a week, heightening the threat of nuclear war. The Titan II was capable of launching from its underground silo in 58 seconds and could deliver a nine megaton thermo-nuclear warhead to its target more than 6,000 miles away in less than thirty minutes.
Today, we’re going to visit the only remaining Titan II missile site that is open to the public, the Titan Missile Museum located in Green Valley, Arizona. We are going to take a journey through time and take part in a simulated missile launch from the actual launch center.
We hope you enjoy and learn something about a part of our country history.

I was a Titan II Missile Combat Crew Commander (MCCC) in the 1970's in Arkansas. When I made Commander, I was only a 1st Lieutenant. Believe me, it was a stressful and awesome responsibility. At the time, we were under the Strategic Air Command (SAC) who made sure we remained fully trained and capable of executing our responsibilities. The hours were long and half of our time was spent on recurring training. Your tour guide, though young, was awesomely knowledgeable. Thanks for the flashback! DC
How interesting! Thank you so much for sharing with us! This tour provided a tiny glimpse into the real life you experienced.
I love my US Air Force. Proud I was an airman. That was a great video. Thanks for sharing that today. It gives more light to our history and those who served.
Excellent tour, so informative and scary. Thank you for sharing.
Welcome to S E Arizona. You are in my neck of the woods (or cactus). I live in Sierra Vista, AZ. Bisbee to my SE and Titan Missile Museum to my W. If you are still nearby... Ft Huachuca, home of the Buffalo Soldiers, has a couple very nice museums. Kartchner Cavern, S of Benson, is fabulous. Did you make it to Tombstone, it is always fun. The Chiricahua Monument has beautiful rock formations. There is so much beauty and so many places to explore in Cochise Co. BTW did you know 2 very old buildings along the old downtown shopping area in Bisbee burned last week. Very sad. Anyway, hope you are enjoying beautiful Arizona. I'm a native "Arizonian" but spent many years living in SE Iowa (Keokuk). Moved back 4 years ago. Always enjoy your videos, they are very beautifully done and always interesting. Thanks so much.
We have left the area. We had a list of these places to choose from but only the weekend to film and some of these required a 2 week notice for filming permits. Hopefully we’ll get back to do more of these places another time.
We did a video on Tombstone a few years back and really enjoyed it. Here’s a link to it.

Love Arizona! 🧡😊🤓
Wow! Your guide was impressive!! Very interesting video! 👍
Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic. 😮one of the best videos your editing was great. Loved the additional details
Live in Florida during the Cuba crisis and had bomb shelters drill during school. Where bus take you to a shelter. I even have my dog tag that gave my ID so parents got match up to their kids.
Thank so very much
So cool it is still open. We visited there in the early 90's. Great to see it again.
Loved the video. Learned so much. Nice😊 Thanks.
Things that make you say, "OH MY"!
I always start my Saturday morning with my favorite CZcams channel.😍
Very intersting. I was raised during the cold war, so this gave perspective to how things were back then. In the early years of it, everybody was so worried. After a while, it just became ho-hum life. Nice job with the film inserts. 👍
Fascinating!
Enjoyed this video!
I think it's fascinating and the young guide was very knowledgeable.. great video!!
Knowledgeable but, if we are being honest, poorly dressed.
@@user-fs8tl7ni1w - I agree, guess his Boss is ok with it.
@@brendawhisenhunt8444 Wear what you want is no standard at all. Sad. That’s not managing anything. It was distracting to say the least. When I was watching the show, someone else in my household came in the room and, without prompting, complained about his attire. Standards matter.
Wow!!! What an amazing tour and great tour guide. Lots of history I had no clue about. Was Pat your SPY???
👍🏻🧡
😂
That was a good one!
What a great guide giving a captivating program of the process.
Phenomenal video! Tour guide was very good. Place looks like a must visit 🚀🧨
Very interesting video. Entertaining presentation something most of us won't see.
Another great video! The guide was very knowledgeable. Very interesting place. Next time we visit our grandkids in Az we need to check this place out. Thanks for sharing👍
BEST VIDEO EVER! Missile launch site tour and clips from War Games, which is one of my favorite movies EVER! Great way to start my day. Safe travels!
I was in the Air Force 1966_1870 as a security policeman and worked on the minute man missile site in North Dakota. As a guard I got to go down to launch center a few times taking the officers food, also was part of the security for the missile sites. sometimes when the weather was bad the security system we would go out to the site to check out the site and wait for a security team would come and stay on site till the system came back up or repaired. A team of two in a truck camper would stay on site till the system came back on. I did that duty my first 6 months there before going to Launch Site. My first time camping, I guess you could call it that. Any way I really enjoy all of your videos, we have a class C maybe see you down the road.
Very interesting, thank YOU for sharing! 🧡😊🤓
Very cool, my brother actually worked in ine if those along time ago. Thanks for sharing ❤
Very interesting..thanks
Great tour. Michelle did a good job.😎🥸🤓
Thank you for such an interesting video. The young man was very knowledgeable & prepared for his job. I compliment you on great footage and editing. Awesome!
Loved your ending! 😂
Great video, learned alot!
I took this tour a couple weeks ago. One of my favorite tours! I boondocked near the Whipple Observatory.
That’s about the same time we took this tour as well. 😊🤓
Great video, only slightly dissapointed that you didn't have a Star Trek First Contact clip.
My wife and i visited the museum in the 1990's. While the guide was good, it was a different experience when we had former staff of the missle site as guides.
I taught at Space Camp. One at the stories I was told was that the SU is constantly watching all the known Titan rockets.
Wished I’d known that you would be in Green Valley area, would have loved to meet you! Been living my RV dreams through you, since your Airstream days! Safe travels to you!
A very informative tour! Thanks for sharing! I do have one question, what movie are the clips from? It was cool how spot on the procedures were communicated in it, and looks like one we would like to watch in the future!
War Games. 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, I copied this to send to all my friends and family. THANK YOU...
Loved the video. What movie were the clips from?
🧡
War Games
Great video!
Can yall put together a rough estimate of how much it costs to do what yall do on a yearly basis!?
We shared all our expenses after our first year. That video is still out there. What “we” spend changes every year drastically and we have found is by no means anything that anyone should base what it costs to travel full time. Simply because of how drastic it changes for “us” year after year. We are all different with what we spend over a years time, but that video we did will give you an idea of what expenses “we” had then. We spent almost double that this past year.
@@LivinRVision thanks! I’ll go watch it!
I saw a post on your facebook page about booking a group cruise with you all. The deal seemed too good to be true. Was that a scam or something you are actually doing?
It’s real! Always feel free to email us if you think something may be a scam. We became Travel Agents a while back as a way to provide discounts to our viewers and do LivinRVision group cruises. It’s an incredible deal that Royal Caribbean gave our company that we’re affiliated with.
Okay. So what I want to know is did you run across any rattlesnakes? ‘Cuz if I had seen all those watch out for rattlesnakes signs, I would have turned around and headed back to the van.
Thankfully, we did not. Lol
Billions of tax dollars spent on these missile silos!
I cannot believe that the tour guide was wearing an untucked, unbuttoned flannel shirt with no logo and sleeves casually rolled up and faded blue jeans. It looked almost like he just got out of bed to take the tour, and not be the one giving it. Wear a uniform. Something to show that you are a tour guide.
Seemed to be what the company allows their employees to wear. We thought he did a wonderful job though and was very knowledgeable. A very nice young man. 👍🏻😊🤓
@@LivinRVision I offered no criticism of his presentation, just his wardrobe. I think that’s fair. We should expect more, otherwise it’s a race to the bottom. No standards. Anything goes. This young person should know better, but, to be sure, I mostly blame management.
@user-fs8tl7ni1w oh we understood fully and could read you weren’t criticizing his presentation, we were just replying in reference to management and then making our own comment about him, just as you did. 👍🏻🧡😊🤓
You guys are great!! No worries. Your comment was well received by me. I just like to see people take pride in what they do. I thought that he did a fine job with the tour-that’s actually why his unfortunate wardrobe was so disappointing.
Very informative! Great video.Guy was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
