Okay I had a GOOD giggle over her last name being Waiteworth. That's too cute!! She is stunning and looks amazing in the Karaoke outfit. I think purple always looks fantastic on darker skin tones.
My doll wishlist is pretty small right now, and there's none that have been on there for ages really. I do think I may get a Julie one day, but I would want an older Julie with really good hair which is nearly impossible. I feel like poor Julie's wig becomes frizzy at the drop of a hat! (Which is a big reason why I'm hesitant to get her, even though her collection is cute and I like her character)
I'm so happy with her name - she's definitely in the minority for our collection, getting a full name. We have a Julie I think is a bit older and her hair was in need of some TLC but I used the flat iron approach and it looks great now. I hope you find a perfect one if you decide to get her.
She is adorable. The Etsy outfit and blue stripes dress looked really good on her.

Oh, I totally remember that feeling of not being able to stop staring at her when seeing her for the first time. I searched for Cecile for over 6 months, and when I finally saw her for the first time it felt like I was in a dream sequence...even for the next week after I got her, whenever I walked by her, I had to stop and stare at her, in disbelief she was actually finally in my collection.
Oh, and you would never have known she was never sold in that meet dress, she looks like she always came in it. (and yes, I remember, it's not one of your favorites. Lol!) 😊
Forgot to add, with the bangs, she looks like a totally different doll from Addy!! The face doesn't even look the same with bangs. 😮
It's nice when a thing you've wanted for a while not only meets your expectations but exceeds them! I'm glad you felt the same thing with your Cecile! Grace wants to keep the first meet dress we have like that in tact and cut this one in half to make a shirt and skirt. Of course I told her to go for it lol.

I hope you find her! And yes...sometimes you just have to wait. Because if you're going to spend the money to get a #1, you don't want just any #1, you want THE one, the one that you know without a doubt belongs in your doll family. I felt that about La'Tia.

Glad you enjoyed it! It's funny you mentioned smelling them - I smelled La'Tia but it was a slightly disappointing smell lol. She was a bit musty smell. Fortunately, just like the scuff on her nose, it was an easy fix. She's just perfect now!

It feels great - and honestly, there are currently no "high priority" dolls for me. Good thing, too, since one of my 2024 goals is to not increase the doll head count by more than 4 dolls for the whole year ;)
I think you have a good method to maintaining and keep your collection under control. I’m going to thru my collection and start to eliminate dolls, clothes and things from my AG collection to only really keep what I want and connect to. Do you recommend Facebook market place how well does it really work out for sellers?
I do like selling on Facebook Marketplace. It's hit or miss. We've sold the most on FB Buy Sell Trade groups, but it's a lot of work and it seems like sales have been slow lately, so we've paused on selling. I'm currently pondering the most effective way to sell some of our extras and clear out some unwanted items.

So happy for you ! She is a beautiful doll ! As an adult collector, I understand that when I find a doll that I really like and then she’s the only doll I think about until I get her ! I also think it’s worth it to spend alittle more and get her in better condition . Then on the other hand when I see a doll in rough shape I feel bad for that doll and want to get her , fix her up , do her hair to the best of my ability , put her in nice clothes and some jewelry and give her a good loving home ! She’ll also be amongst friends with my other dolls . Boy have I lost my mind ! Thank you also for telling us the price you paid . ,I’m always curious about that . My favorite outfit was the blue Etsy sundress at the very end . I only dress my dolls in contemporary clothes and I also purchase a lot from the amazing sellers on Etsy . I enjoy your channel so very much ! Thank you !
Yes - I've been on both ends of the spectrum - gotten a doll for dirt cheap and put in my elbow grease to bring her back to life and forked over the money to get a new or like new doll. It all depends on my priorities for a given doll. With this one, I definitely made the right choice. And you're welcome for the transparency about pricing. I know not everyone is comfortable sharing their budget, what they spend, etc. And that's each person's prerogative. But I do think it's helpful to have open, honest conversations about money so I try to be an open book about that.

I think it's a matter of personal preference, so I don't mind that some ppl choose not to share that information. But I also think it's healthy for us to talk about money openly and honestly in general. I am happy to talk $ surrounding dolls - what I paid for them, what my budget is, etc.

Thank you so much! I wish AG would make more Addy mold dolls in more shades. I should do some side-by-sides of her and #26 since 26 is easier to come by and some ppl consider using 26 to make an 11 look-alike. I think she's a hard one to mimic because her skin tone and wig are both tricky to get exact matches for.

Congratulations on La'Tia! She's beautiful. I liked all of the outfits you put her in, but my favorite on her was the yellow shirt with the shorts. The blue dress with a compass necklace is a close second.
The doll that's high on my wishlist that I'm also the most particular about is Samantha, since she was my first and favorite doll as a child. I'm ideally looking for one from roughly 1989-1991, since those are the years that I would have gotten mine in. The Samanthas changed so much in the early years, so I'm pretty specific about the shape of her face and the color of her hair. That's not so much an expense thing, because I'm not really too worried about overall condition and Samantha dolls can be bought pretty cheaply when that's the case. The priciest non-custom/non-CYO doll on my wishlist is Nellie. I'd really prefer that she not be orange, but otherwise, I'm not too picky. With her, it is mostly an expense thing, coupled with the fact that there are a few dolls higher than her on my wishlist.
I hope you find just the Samantha you're looking for. She's definitely one of the dolls that has changed the most over time, so I get that wanting a very specific look could make that challenging.

La’Tia is beautiful and well worth the wait. I like the green flowered shirt in her and the blue dress at the end. Actually, she looked good in all the outfits.
I’m not really looking for any hard to find dolls. I’m thinking about adding 127 and/or Tiana to my collection. I really have plenty of dolls and should let go of a couple that I don’t use as much anymore or have been replaced by other dolls. Like I have Saige but Blaire has replaced her in my collection (and my daughter has Saige as well) so I’d like to part with her but it’s so hard to sell and I’ve never sold a dolls before. Sigh.

Thanks - They DO look cute together. As for a connection, technically "la tia" means "the aunt" in Spanish. So maybe they won't be related, but Tia can have more of a mentor, aunt-like role in Nora's life.

I think we probably don't even have five dolls (out of about 100) that we've given last names to. Granted, we don't rename any character dolls, but still...that's a lot of CYOs and Truly Me dolls that don't have last names. And thank you again for helping me find her. I'm absolutely thrilled with her.

The Karaoke Dress looks so good on her! I've been watching your channel for a few months now and I admire your collection and find your voice so relaxing! The doll I'm on the biggest lookout for is Number 10! She's my lookalike, except I have curly hair. I'm waiting to find one at the right price for me (and preferably one I can immediately buy instead of having to fight for my life in a bidding war, only to lose) 😂
How similar is #10's hair to Samantha's? If it's similar enough, could you just give her some Felicity/Isabel eyes and have a very affordable dupe? Or is your heart set on the original doll? I'm happy you finally found a long-awaited doll! Loved your expression when you opened her!!! You have such creativity with how you name your dolls. I wish I was that creative lol. She looks great in the Karaoke dress. I need to stop buying dolls that need tlc because I have more than I can fix. lol. I think I'm at 20 that need love. Oh My!. I have more ideas than I have time for execution. No doll wants at the moment. I've only been at this for less than 10 months, but I'm hooked!
I call the period you're in the RAP (Rapid Acquisition Period). It doesn't happen to everyone and for some it isn't temporary (eek), but so many of us (myself definitely included) we go through this period in the beginning of adult collecting where we acquire SO much in a very short period of time and then hit a moment of looking around and going, "Whoa, there. Time to rein it in and start being more selective!" I do distinctly having something like 10 dolls all being rehabbed at once and the house looking like the body farm. Now I'm a lot more judicious (but I do still love a rehab project lol).

I watched a LOT of ppl add #11 to their collection over the past couple of years and it was a good exercise in delayed gratification. "Eventually...when the time and the doll are right" I would tell myself. So maybe that will be the case for you. In the meantime, you have a beautiful doll to enjoy in your TM58!

I think the three that I want to get first or most is Saige Copeland and Nicki Fleming and Caroline Abbott. I see them for sale all the time but I keep getting the new things being released instead of buying one of those lol. I like the rounder, fuller faces and fuller wigs on them too.

I just got mine... I got my Kit!!! But I also kinda wanted a modern doll just to play with because I have weird thing my historical girls are only in their era clothes... so when I was offered a Lea with gorgeous hair I jumped on her and I felt the same way seeing her in person like you seeing your 11. In my eyes, my collection of girls is complete (unless a future historical girl that gets me)... I just wanna concentrate on getting their clothes collections now.

She’s sooo cute! I dearly want a Nellie, but she’s practically impossible to find over in the uk, so I’ve got one of those Chinese replica Nellie wigs and I’m waiting on the perfect tlc low priced Grace who I’m going to customise into my modernised nellie-inspired doll.
The Chinese replica Nellie wig is likely an actual Nellie wig. The "grey market" items are generally legit, just leftovers or *slightly* off in some way. I've gotten a TM62 wig and a Joss wig that way and was very pleased with both.
Hi Kristie, Congrats on your long awaited 11! She is very cute. I loved her in the white overalls. Of course she looks good in anything. Her hair is so shiny. So adorable. The outside pictures are always so much nicer don’t you think? I love using natural light. Did her nose scuff come out ok? I have had Emily on my wish list for quite a while to complete my historical best friends. I was waiting to find one in her full meet, reasonable price and that I thought was cute. I found one on eBay for $70 US but I live in Canada so with exchange it will be $145. I think that’s a good deal? The ad says her hair is a little dry but I know I can fix that. I can’t wait for her to arrive!

Random question - is it any cheaper for you to have multiple dolls shipped to you at the same time? I ask because I've been buying some things for a collector overseas and holding them back to send it all at once and wonder if that approach would help you.
I’m glad her nose buffed out. That’s good news. Thanks for your question. I think it would be cheaper to mail multiple dolls to save on shipping but I guess it depends on the weight. I struggle with the calculations and that’s why I don’t like to ship when I sell dolls. I encourage local pick up and usually prefer to buy that way too. Buying Emily is a bit of an exception but she is not the first purchase ever from eBay. As for the customs I find that to be very random. Good luck with your shipping. It’s wonderful how you and others in our community help one another find dolls. 🥰
We use PirateShip to ship and have used it to ship to Canada, too. That might be a good option to investigate if you're interested in exploring shipping.

Currently I'm waiting on an Addy, and possibly a Josefina. I mainly buy TLC dolls (it's sort of a "Velveteen Rabbit" situation for me in terms of the dolls that I gravitate towards when shopping secondhand). I saw the PERFECT Addy about a month ago, but I unfortunately was outbid at the last possible second. I'll find a good one eventually, though

Her hair isn’t as nice as your doll’s but it’s still nice, I’ll steam it tomorrow to get those little flyaways tamed. Currently restringing her! Congratulations. I was thinking of the song I robbed from Fred Rogers and would sing to my children when they would be waiting for something and it’s the it’s very very very hard to wait song and you waited two years. What discipline, but you knew what you wanted and you were willing to wait it out and kudos to you my friend, I can’t say that I would have done the same. I was looking at Belle, and the prices on her are almost as much as my rent for a month. So I’ll be looking for her for a very long long time of all the Disney movies. Beauty and the beast was my favorite. When the movie came out on this I’ll tell you how old it was VHS. We were in Sam’s Club the day that they were putting them out and I said we need to get this for the kids now my ex knows me better than that for my 40th birthday he took me to see the play the last time I took the kids to what is known as the old barn, which is where the Blackhawks and the Bulls played until the United Center. Otherwise, no one has the house that Michael Jordan built became the new home of everything. Beauty and the beast was the last time I was in the barn and it was bittersweet. I remembered all the hockey games that my brother and I had gone to together after the 80 Olympics when the guys were all drafted and going to other teams but until they got to that point they were touring and starting the games, so Mark and I tried to get as many of them as we could. And I looked at that building and Mark had passed away about a year before it was. It was a hard memory but it was a lovely memory but I’ve seen the price on Belle and she will be out of my price range for many years. But if I could have any doll in the world. she would be my first choice I just over this 20% Fourth of July weekend added Melody and her outfits and got all three of the red white and blue outfits because I’ll keep them in there for the Olympics. But I am so pleased for you, that you finally got something that you truly wanted and she is as close to perfect as she can be. I’ll be looking forward to her fashion show enjoy her in the best of health.
It's tough when your holy grail doll is a limited edition one, and especially Belle - because you're right...her price isn't likely to come down any time soon. But I'll cross my fingers and hope you find a great deal on her at some point.
A doll that has been on my list for awhile is Mia GoTY 2008 I’m hoping to find one with het meet hairstyle still in tack, full meet outfit, and be in like new condition she doesn’t have to be perfect. I just have yet to find one that speaks to me.
I've seen her in blue in a few people's pictures lately and she looks SO good in that color. I hope you come across the Mia of your dreams in 2024.

She really is insanely expensive - I hope you're able to find one that's not labeled a #50 so you can get a better price.
