After a brush with Covid which revealed its ugly presence in remote Ford's Terror. Venture made her way along the Lynn Canal to the Alaska town of Haines.
Beautifully filmed, edited, and presented. Thanks for your efforts to bring us these views of the world that many of us will never see in real life. Ronn
I Sailed my 30 ft Sailboat from Victoria to Skagway in 1985, no camera no video. The views you show and the memories are imprinted in my brain forever. Thank you.
It's a shame that this is only being shown now. However, I do love your incredibly professional films. They really do inspire me. If I had the money, I would in a heartbeat follow your explorations. Have a wonderful time.
Don’t need a lot of money to do it. It’s more fun when done cheaper anyways. It’s amazing how little you need (up north is a little harder but still doable as I am doing it). Read up on French sailor Bernard Moitessier
It’s amazing in the middle of Alaska on a beautiful yacht, the nasty COVID bug caught you! I am so sorry! I hope and pray you are completely recovered. If I caught COVID I would be thrilled to be on Venture recuperating. Might as well suffer in comfort ❤️
Another great video. I hope you continue your wonderful travelouges for many more years. Venture is my favorite Yacht and you are my favorite presenter.
Tony, you are a master narrator and videographer. We have sailed from here to Fiji, where we are now, and your testimonials cause us to yearn for the Pacific NW. Well done, Sir,
Yet another beautiful episode of Flaming Yachts accompanying with your erudit and harmonious voice Mr. Flaming. BTW I like yourself humble photograph sent to your acquaintances (to us as well) which is not so accustomed to you. Thank you.
When I get my Fleming I’m really hoping that Tony has charts of all the places he’s been. I’m definitely going to Alaska and I’m planning on doing the Great loop also. I can’t wait!
Thank you Sir for this beautiful video! I was waiting for it.. I´ve been watching every single one on your youtube chanel. Their quality are outstanding and you make my dream of visiting Alaska become true even if I´m watching it from home at the city of Porto/ Portugal. Kind regards
Following your video's for years now (and so much inspired by you that we have sold our house and bought a Steeler Explorer 50) I have a question. Somewhere you mentioned not to use the watermaker because of glacier cloudy water. Can you explain that to me. I mean, more fresh is not to find .... what do I have missed here? With all respect and regards, Ferry
Tony, I am Glad you went back to Alaska after I wrote you of my Trip there in 2022. I was enjoying this video in 4K. I am happy to see you uploading 4K videos, especially after our emails (?) requesting (suggesting-?) you upload your old Alaska videos in 4K. My 4k footage from my Jun 2022 Alaska vacation doesn't compare to yours. Thank you for taking us to a different part of Alaska. Sorry o hear you got Covid - we also caught it in Alaska during our trip, Thankfully it was at the end of our trip! -Animal-
Your videos are amazing and inspiring. It give me emotional comfort and relief from stress and strain we have every day life. Thank you. I want to sail on a wonderful voyage like you did. By the way - your recent videos have too much red color. It does not look natural. Please reduce "Hue" & "Saturation" feature in your video editor software when editing video. Anyway - we love your amazing sailing video. Thank you for making us feel good when watching your beautilly presented sailing videos.
A beautiful production as always Tony. I do have a technical question. Are all the engines in Flemings left hand rotation with left and right handle wheels handled by the transmission? Has this always been so? Back in the day I ran larger boats there were left and right turning engines. I am of the same age as you, so started all this in the 50s.
Yes the engines all run the same direction and the left and right rotations for the props are handled by the transmissions. Today's marine engines are essentially truck engines which have been set up for marine use. I don't recall coming across contra-rotating engines in my career.
Packard, ChrisCraft/Hercules, Chrysler. All from the 30s & 40s were produced turning left or right. These were what I grew up with. By the 60s I lost track. I told you I was old.
Covid most certainly still exists although it is not as lethal as it was due to inoculations and treatment being available. The trip took place last July and the video posted two days ago.
Not sure what your cryptic ? means but we were all up to date with our shots and after some unpleasant symptoms during the quarantine period all recovered OK. I am in my late 80's so at risk.
Beautifully filmed, edited, and presented. Thanks for your efforts to bring us these views of the world that many of us will never see in real life. Ronn
Tony, you are a gift to humanity. Thanks for who you are and what you do!

Nice
Woo Hoo!, 4K+, there is a difference! Thanks Elon!
I have had Covid once this year it was a tiring experience. This fatigue took a while to recover from.
great videos. have you had any experience with sharrow propellers? thanks.
Is thisold video or does covid still exist?
Covid most certainly still exists although it is not as lethal as it was due to inoculations and treatment being available. The trip took place last July and the video posted two days ago.
Surely nobody still believes vaccine protects? This has never been proved.
Speak on the Tribes
Those mines should be named "Beggar's Tomb." LOL. 90% or more of those prospectors got nothing more than sore backs and diseases for their troubles.
Covid?
Not sure what your cryptic ? means but we were all up to date with our shots and after some unpleasant symptoms during the quarantine period all recovered OK. I am in my late 80's so at risk.
I have suggested to the BBC that they should air your content, but got only a thank you back, suggesting that they didn't bother to watch anything.
The BBC could not stand the competition. Most awake people have dropped their TV licence surely by now.
I also caught a cold earlier this year.
